Chapter 16 – Isolde #2

I couldn’t deny that, so I took my prince’s hand, and we made our way through the castle. We entered a joining of many corridors, one in which we would go right to find our room, when Vale tugged me to the left.

My eyebrows pinched together. “Wrong way.”

“I know exactly where I want to take you. And I mean that in more ways than one.”

My heart fluttered. “It’s private, right?”

The last thing I wanted was for anyone to stumble upon us doing the deed. Especially now that I was in such a position of power.

“Very.”

“Alright then.” I allowed Vale to show me through parts of Ramshold I had yet to step foot in. Like the rest of the castle, it screamed luxury, family, and honor.

“Here we are.” Vale stopped. He gestured to a stretch of wall between two potted plants that rose nearly to the ceiling, their leaves arching together, as if wanting to touch.

“Ah yes, the perfect place for romance.”

My prince smirked as he ran his hand along the wall before seemingly grasping at something.

A whine hit my ear and suddenly, the wall was no longer a wall, but a set of double doors, one of which my mate was opening.

Fresh air swept over me, still cool, cold even, but not frigid.

Things were indeed warming at a shocking rate.

“After you.”

I stepped over the threshold and smiled. Vale had taken me to a balcony on the fourth floor overlooking the backside of the city and the mountains beyond. Stars twinkled above and faelights below, painting a breathtaking picture.

“Stars,” I sighed out, “it’s so lovely here with the city and the mountain view.”

“And it’s unlikely anyone will come this way,” Vale assured me. “A grand ballroom is further down the hall. One they only use for the largest of balls. No chance of that tonight.”

“I’m guessing you found this hidden balcony during some night of revelry? Am I not the first lady you’ve brought out here?” My tone was teasing, but the question was sincere.

Both Vale and I had pasts—people we’d slept with and claimed to love before we met one another. I wasn’t envious of those ladies, though I didn’t like to think of someone else standing out here with my mate. Kissing him. Doing more.

“Sian realized this balcony had an excellent view but was hidden from windows and other balconies around the castle. He values privacy, so he put an illusion in place long ago and has maintained it. Once the door closes, no one will see it unless it’s opened again.

Sian uses the balcony for his own liaisons, but when I’d visit for state affairs, usually a lavish ball, he and I would come out here and hide from ladies.

” Vale came closer. “You’re the first I’ve brought out here with the intent of taking you from behind and making you gasp my name. ”

Oh gods. My knees quivered with want.

“By all means, then, who am I to make you wait?”

His hands landed on my hips, and he guided me back, back, back, until my rear hit the stone railing. Slowly, those large hands traveled over my body, lingering on my curves, caressing them, until finally one landed on my throat. Vale tilted my chin back and took my lips in his.

Our tongues danced, our teeth nipped, our hands explored, sending goosebumps over our skin and heat ravaging through me. Heat I wanted doused by him. I pulled back, pushed him away slightly, and smirked as I turned and looked at him from over my shoulder.

“Is this how you were picturing tonight?”

He closed the space between us, his hands gripping my hips as he pressed into me. Fates, he was already so hard, and though I loved the tension of foreplay, I was equally ready for him.

As if he could read my mind, my mate pulled the hem of my dress up and dropped it over the top of my arse, which he playfully smacked. The cold of the stone balcony dug into my hips, but I barely noticed that or the chilled air.

“I swear if you make me wait, I’ll freeze you to the ground and leave you out here,” I threatened.

Vale laughed, the sound wild and free. “Might be worth it to see you get more riled up.”

I glanced back at him, wagged my eyebrows, which only made him laugh harder as he tugged my undergarments off. “Red. You know what I think of every time you wear red?” he asked as the delicate lace pooled at my ankles.

A grin overtook my mouth. “The time I left you hot and bothered in a closet with a Master Healer scolding you for seducing your wife.”

“Right before she pointed out the slip of red undergarments on the ground,” he added, his hands landing on my rear and squeezing, only to wrap around until his fingers found my sensitive nub.

I gasped as he applied pressure, rubbing at my tender skin while easing my legs wider and sliding inside me. My eyelids fluttered closed as Vale filled me, our fit as perfect as ever.

“Isolde,” Vale growled. “Look up.”

I did as he asked, and the magic of the moment multiplied. Purples and greens swam across the sky. The goddess Brae was painting tonight. Putting on a show.

I twisted to catch Vale’s gaze and swore I felt a wave of pure happiness wash over me.

“Not the prettiest thing I’ve seen tonight,” he said. “Not by half.” One free hand caressed my hip, and the other trailed lightly over my wing.

Stars bloomed in my vision from the touch, the caress of my wing as he continued to pump in and out, teasing that delicious tension growing inside me higher. My wings tingled from his touch, so sensitive, so receptive to him.

He changed up the tempo, and I gasped as he shifted his lower hand to apply pressure to my sensitive bundle of nerves. My climax roared out of me, and a cry of pleasure parted my lips, only to be swallowed by a gale of wind. Magical wind. Vale’s.

He followed me into bliss only seconds later, my inner channels still spasming around his cock. When we were both spent, Vale drew me up against him, my back to his chest, as he kissed my jawline.

“I love you, Force. Never forget that.”

I exhaled joy and stared up at the sky, still a riot of color, of life and beauty. “That’s not possible.”
