EPILOGUE

Sienna

I jolted awake, my heart racing as the remnants of the nightmare faded. Fury’s arm tightened around my waist, his warmth anchoring me to reality.

“You’re safe,” he murmured, his voice rough with sleep. “I’ve got you.”

I took a deep breath, letting his words wash over me. Safe. It was still a foreign concept, even weeks after the raid on Arthur’s mansion. But as I nestled closer to Fury, I felt the truth of it settle into my bones.

The clock on the nightstand read 3:17 AM. Another restless night, but they were becoming less frequent. I closed my eyes, thinking back to the chaos that had followed our escape from the mansion.

The sirens had barely faded when the media circus descended. Reporters clamored for details, their microphones thrust in our faces as we tried to shield the rescued women from their prying eyes. I’d given a brief statement, my voice steady despite the trembling in my hands, before Fury whisked me away from the cameras.

The following days were a blur of police interviews, medical examinations, and debriefings. I’d insisted on staying close to Venus throughout it all, watching over her as she began the long process of healing. The drugs they’d pumped her full of had taken their toll, leaving her disoriented and weak. But even in those early days, I saw flashes of the fierce woman I knew her to be.

“How is she doing?” Fury asked softly, pulling me from my thoughts.

I turned in his arms, meeting his concerned gaze. “Better,” I said. “She’s starting to open up in therapy. It’s going to be a long road, but she’s strong.”

He nodded, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Like someone else I know.”

I smiled, warmth blooming in my chest at his words. It was still strange sometimes, being on the receiving end of such unwavering support and affection. But I was learning to embrace it, to believe that I deserved it.

“Have you thought more about testifying?” Fury asked, his fingers tracing soothing patterns on my back.

I sighed, the weight of the upcoming trial settling over me. “Yeah. I’m going to do it. They need to pay for what they’ve done.”

The thought of facing Ralf, Arthur, and his associates in court made my stomach churn, but I knew it was necessary. My testimony, along with the mountain of evidence we’d uncovered, would ensure they spent the rest of their lives behind bars.

“I’ll be right there with you,” Fury promised. “Every step of the way.”

I leaned in, capturing his lips in a gentle kiss. “I know. I couldn’t do this without you.”

As the first rays of dawn peeked through the curtains, we reluctantly untangled ourselves from each other and started our day. The routine we’d fallen into over the past weeks was comforting—shared showers, coffee brewed just the way I liked it, stolen kisses as we got dressed.

On the drive to Club Privé, I marveled at how much had changed in such a short time. The club itself was thriving under the new security measures Gavin had implemented. He’d hired a team of ex-military personnel to handle security, and every employee had undergone extensive background checks. The dancers felt safer than ever, and it showed in their performances.

As we walked through the club’s main entrance, I was struck by the energy of the place. Even in the early morning hours, there was a buzz of activity as staff prepared for the night ahead.

“Sienna!” Venus called out, waving from behind the bar where she was restocking bottles. It was her temporary gig until she felt ready to get back on stage.

I made my way over to her, drinking in the sight of her looking so... normal. Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun, and she wore one of the club’s signature tank tops. To anyone else, she might have looked like just another bartender getting ready for her shift. But I could see the lingering shadows in her eyes, the slight tremor in her hands as she arranged the bottles.

“Hey, you,” I said, leaning against the bar. “How are you feeling today?”

She shrugged, a small smile playing at her lips. “Better, I suppose. Still some trouble sleeping.”

I nodded, understanding all too well. “You know you can call me anytime, right? Day or night.”

“I know,” she said. “And I appreciate it. But I’m trying to... I don’t know, reclaim some independence, I guess?”

“I get it,” I assured her. “Just don’t push yourself too hard, okay?”

She rolled her eyes, but there was affection in her gaze. “Yes, mom.”

As I made my way to my office, I caught sight of Fury deep in conversation with Gavin. They both looked up as I approached, twin expressions of concern on their faces.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, immediately on alert.

Gavin sighed, running a hand through his hair. “We just got word from the DA’s office. Arthur’s lawyers are pushing for a plea deal.”

My blood ran cold. “What kind of deal?”

“They’re offering to give up names of other traffickers in exchange for a reduced sentence,” Fury explained, his jaw clenched tight.

I shook my head, anger bubbling up inside me. “No. Absolutely not. He doesn’t get to wiggle out of this.”

Gavin held up his hands placatingly. “I agree. But the DA thinks it might be worth considering. The information could lead to taking down other rings, saving more victims. He’ll still spend decades behind bars.”

I closed my eyes, trying to process this new development. On one hand, the thought of Arthur getting any kind of leniency made me sick. But if it meant saving others from the fate Venus and so many others had suffered...

“What do you think?” I asked Fury, meeting his steady gaze.

He was quiet for a moment, considering. “I think... it’s not our decision to make. We should talk to Venus, to the other survivors. See how they feel about it.”

I nodded, grateful once again for his level headed approach. “You’re right. We’ll set up a meeting, let them have a say.”

As Gavin headed off to make the calls, Fury pulled me into a tight embrace. I melted into him, drawing strength from his solid presence.

“You okay?” he murmured into my hair.

I nodded against his chest. “Yeah. Just... sometimes it feels like this will never really be over, you know?”

He pulled back slightly, cupping my face in his hands. “I know. But we’re making progress. And no matter what happens, we’re in this together.”

I smiled, leaning in to kiss him softly. “Together,” I echoed.

The rest of the day passed in a whirlwind of meetings and preparations for the night ahead. As I made my final rounds before opening, I caught sight of my reflection in one of the mirrored walls. The woman staring back at me was a far cry from the guarded, defensive person I’d been just months ago. My posture was straighter, my eyes clearer. I looked... happy.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Fury’s voice came from behind me, his reflection appearing beside mine in the mirror.

I turned to face him, drinking in the sight of him in his perfectly tailored suit. “Just thinking about how much has changed,” I said. “How much I’ve changed.”

He smiled, reaching out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind my ear. “You’ve always been amazing, Sienna. You’re just letting people see it now.”

I leaned into his touch, warmth blooming in my chest. “Including myself, I guess.”

As the first guests filtered in, Fury and I made our way to the VIP section.

The music pulsed around us, the energy of the crowd electric. I sipped my drink, content to people-watch for a while. Fury’s arm was draped casually over the back of the booth, his fingers playing absently with the ends of my hair.

“You know,” he said, leaning in close so I could hear him over the music, “we never finished that conversation we started the other night.”

I raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at my lips. “Which conversation was that?”

He grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “The one about our future plans. Specifically, whether or not you’d be interested in making this arrangement of ours a bit more... permanent.”

My heart skipped a beat. We’d been dancing around the subject for weeks now, both of us hesitant to push too hard or move too fast. But as I looked into Fury’s eyes, I felt a sense of certainty wash over me.

“Are you asking me to move in with you, Fury Gracen?” I teased, even as my pulse quickened.

He shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “Maybe. Now that I finally got approved for that fancy penthouse. Or maybe I’m asking for something more. Like, say, a lifetime commitment?”

I blinked, momentarily stunned. “Are you... proposing?”

His expression softened, all traces of teasing gone. “Not officially. Not yet. But I want you to know that’s where I see this going. If that’s something you want, too.”

I took a deep breath, letting his words sink in. A lifetime with Fury. A home, a family, a future built on trust and love and mutual respect. It was more than I’d ever dared to dream for myself.

“It is,” I breathed, my voice barely audible over the thumping, pulsating music. “It’s exactly what I want.”

The smile that broke across Fury’s face was radiant. He pulled me close, kissing me with a passion that made my toes curl. When we finally broke apart, both breathless, I laughed.

“What’s so funny?” Fury asked, his eyes dancing with joy.

I shook my head, still grinning. “Just thinking about how different my life is now compared to a few months ago. If someone had told me then that I’d be sitting here, planning a future with you...”

“You’d have laughed in their face?” he supplied.

“Probably,” I admitted. “Or punched them.”

He chuckled, pulling me closer. “Well, I’m glad you didn’t punch me when I first kissed you.”

“Technically, I kissed you.” I leaned my head on his shoulder, watching the crowd below us.

Fury’s hand found mine, our fingers intertwining naturally. I looked at him, taking in his profile. He must have sensed my gaze because he glanced back, a soft smile playing at his lips.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked, his voice low and intimate.

I squeezed his hand, a warmth spreading through my chest that had nothing to do with the temperature. “Just wondering,” I said, a hint of teasing in my tone, “how soon is too soon to start planning a wedding?”
