Chapter 22

Chapter Twenty-Two

A Headache and a Hard Cock

L inc couldn’t remember waking up and feeling the way he did when he saw Nova still in his bed, curled up with the thickest blanket on his bed. She looked angelic. Heavenly. Not the type to be in this world. But it was too late for that now.

That’s why years ago things came to an end. Their paths pulled them apart and it was for the better. Linc knew what he was diving into. Yeah, his connections to the motorcycle club left him exempt from suffering through the prospecting stage, but at the same time, Linc had been running favors for SOFRAW since he was a kid.

He remembered the sexy Dr. Hazel always talking to him and Javen. She was older and beautiful and Linc and Javen would follow her around with their tongues dangling out of their mouths. Jess asking them to help out. Favors.

Violence. Crime.

But it was the most badass feeling in the world. Not quite as badass as having someone like Nova though. Linc wasn’t even sure what they were. If anything at all. She wore his ink but that was more symbolic than set in stone. He’d find her brother and then…Linc had no idea.

Climbing out of bed quietly, Linc went to take a piss and then out to the main part of the clubhouse. Priest slept on a pool table with two deecees as his blanket. The smell of breakfast already hung in the air.

Muffin came out of the kitchen for some coffee. He nodded at Linc.

“Got one of those for me?” Linc asked.

“I’m not pouring your coffee,” Muffin said. “Skylar is around here somewhere.”

“Sure she’s not in the kitchen waiting for you?”

“I never mix ingredients,” Muffin said.

He lifted his coffee cup and went back to the kitchen. Skylar appeared a second later, sort of jogging, messing with her shirt and her hair.

“Morning, Linc,” she said. “Sorry. I was—”

“What a liar,” Linc said with a grin. “ Never mix ingredients… ”

Skylar licked her lips and swallowed hard. Linc touched the corner of his mouth. “You have a little cum right there.”

Skylar damn near slapped herself in the face to wipe her mouth. There was no cum on her face. Amazing how Muffin never liked to fuck and tell .

Or get sucked off and tell .

Skylar went to work, pouring Linc a cup of coffee. Slade and Darrow soon joined Linc. The three outlaws sat there in silence with their minds racing in thought. When Cyrus came walking from the hallway, all it took was one nod to Linc.

“Time to pray, brothers,” Linc said. “Today’s the day.”

Linc pushed from the bar and followed Cyrus into their prayer room. For some reason Linc caught himself looking at Nico’s chair. The always empty chair at the table. He stepped up to that empty chair and touched it. He never really gave Nico much thought these days. It was a messy situation.

“We’re on the move today,” Cyrus said as he sat down. “Enough waiting. VP?”

“Agreed,” Linc said. “We have the intel. Let’s make a move.”

“Any idea of who shot Linc?” Slade asked.

“That’s next,” Cyrus said, pointing at Slade.

“Maybe things are connected,” Darrow said. “You know how it goes around here. Having yellow bunny in town… it smells of another crew. Angry Rattlers? Steel Streets 13?”

“It was sloppy,” Linc said. “I’d put money on Steel Streets 13.”

“That’s a whole other conversation, brother,” Cyrus said.

“I can’t see the Angry Rattlers doing it,” Slade said. “We’ve been good with them for a while now. Prez is right. One thing at a time. We’re set on this house?”

“Dead set,” Darrow said. “It’s quiet there. Whatever this is, it’s not a threat to us.”

“We ride at noon,” Cyrus said, standing back up. “I’m going to get some coffee and breakfast. Get my dick sucked. I suggest you all do the same. And tell the others. But I don’t want a crowd there. Custer and Monte can stay behind. Same with Deed. And tell Muffin to trade the apron for his leather cut while we’re gone. I want the clubhouse protected.”

“Fitz should run point here then,” Slade said.

“Yes,” Linc said. “Put him on the roof as lookout. Just in case things go south.”

“Slade, talk to Fitz,” Cyrus said. “Darrow, double check everything.”

“On it, Prez ,” Darrow said.

“One other thing,” Linc said. “Let’s send Virus out with one of the prospects. Take a truck and just drive by the house.”

“Who’s our best?” Cyrus asked.

“Drix,” Darrow said. “Out of the three we have, he’s got the most to offer.”

“I second that,” Slade said.

Cyrus looked at Linc. Linc nodded.

“Done,” Cyrus said. “We figure out this yellow bunny shit today. Keep Chief Dick off our backs. Then we can find out who tried to kill our VP and cut their heads off.”

That was the end of a quick prayer. Not even a full congregation either. They all left the room to hit the bar for coffee, booze, and food. Skylar had her hands full.

Linc made sure to get two coffees before returning to his room. He placed a cup of coffee on the nightstand next to Nova and crouched down, waiting for her to wake up. Her nose wrinkled first at the smell of the coffee. She then opened her eyes and groaned.

“Morning, darling,” Linc whispered. “Coffee is hot. We should talk.”

“Is it about Nick?”

“Not exactly. Things could tie in together though.”

“This is how the day starts?”

“This life never sleeps, Nova.”

Nova nodded. Linc brushed his lips to hers. Probably the softest and sweetest good morning kiss he could remember since the last time he kissed Nova like that years ago. Same could be said for Nova. She sat up and sipped her coffee.

Linc sat on the edge of the bed, head turned, marveling at the natural beauty Nova possessed. It was no wonder Linc had to ink her. The outlaws out there in the clubhouse would have gone through her and then came back for seconds and thirds.

But she was his. All his. For good measure, Linc moved the blanket off Nova’s leg to see the tattoo.

“How’s it feel?” Linc asked.

“Itchy,” Nova said. “So what’s going on today?”

“We’re handling an issue,” Linc said. “Have to go check out a house.”

“Right. So you’re going to be totally vague. Why even talk about it then?”

“Nova, we have a balance in this town with a lot of things. Stuff most don’t even know or want to know. There’s this stuff called yellow bunny . It’s a mix of some nasty drugs. It’s yellowish in color and it makes you fucking crazy. But it can kill you just as fast. We’re going to check out a house of someone who had it on them. We have a handful of guys going. The rest are hanging back here to run protection on the clubhouse.”

Nova gasped.

“There’s no danger, darling. Not here. It’s just a precaution.”

“Says the guy with a bullet hole in his shoulder.”

“Exactly my point. Things aren’t always what they seem.”

“What are you getting at, Linc?”

“I have to figure out what to do with you, Nova. To keep you safe and sound. I can keep you locked in this room all day.”

“No. This room is messy. There’s other women’s panties and bras on the floor still. I must be a fucking idiot to be in this bed knowing that.”

Linc touched Nova’s chin. “You’re the only one that matters to me. Only one that ever did. Only one person in this world is wearing my initials.”

Nova exhaled and felt her cheeks becoming hot.

“Darrow said something about your brother and being near some bad guys.”

“You think my brother is at this house? Or has something to do with it?”

“Not sure.”

“Then I’m going with you, Linc.”

“No, you’re not.”

“You said you’re going to check it out.”

“What do you think that really means, darling?” Linc asked.

Now Nova’s cheeks turned red for a different reason.

“And where exactly is this house?” Nova asked.

“In town. You know where Elmwood is?”

Nova nodded. “That’s not exactly a drug area.”

“House is registered to an elderly woman. So something isn’t right. She doesn’t even live there. Grandson running drugs out of the house?”

“And you think Nick could be involved in this…”

“Things have a way to just showing themselves, Nova. I guess the reason I’m telling you this…”

Nova let it sink it. And it sank in hard. She handed Linc her coffee cup. Neither one wanted to speak the words.

If they find Nick there, they’re going to kill him , Nova thought to herself.

Then she added to herself, If they find out Nick is involved in this… they’re going to kill him…

Nova looked at Linc. She swallowed hard. Linc slid his hand to the back of her neck and pulled her toward him. Their foreheads touched.

No words needed to be spoken. It was understood by both. The outlaw life had a way of twisting and turning in just seconds. Nova learned that fast.

She preferred Linc’s cock in her mouth and between her legs. That was the reward. Before the reward came the risk.

Nova was terrified. For her brother’s life. And for Linc’s life. Nova was not going to just sit in a bedroom and do nothing. She assumed Linc knew that already. Linc did. The woman he loved was stubborn. She would spend the rest of her life giving Linc a headache and a hard cock.

What more could a man ask from a woman?
