13. Someone For Me #4
He planted kisses along her neck ever so softly before taking her lips and sliding his tongue between her teeth. Slipping out of her folds, he rolled over and took up the space beside her in bed. His chest heaved, and he draped an arm over his head as his eyes fell on the ceiling.
“You got plans tonight?”
“Just me and the TV. I haven’t been in the mood for much else,” she answered.
“You want to have a date night in? We can get some snacks, watch a flick,” he suggested.
“A date, huh?”
“I mean, we skipped past the normal courting shit, but I’m fucking with you, Lo. Even before I found out you was pregnant. I know you doubt me, but that’s the truth. I want to get to know you. I like being around you.”
“What if I tell you I think I want to keep this baby? Does that change anything between us?” she questioned.
“Just the fact that we’ll be taking care of a child together.”
“It doesn’t mean we need to run off and get married or be together just because we’re having a baby,” Lotus concluded.
“It doesn’t mean we can’t be together either,” he argued.
“I just don’t want to put you in a position where you feel like you’re trapped—”
“Shit, you can trap me with that good ass pussy,” Eazy teased.
“Shut up!” Lotus tittered and slapped his chest.
“Nah, but for real.” Eazy reached for her and pulled her into his chest so she could rest her head there.
His fingers stroked her scalp while he looked into her eyes.
“I’m not going nowhere. We in this together. Every appointment, all that, just let me know.”
“What about cravings?” Lotus flashed her innocent eyes on him.
“I got dick by the inch.”
“I’m talking about snacks, fool!” She nudged him with her shoulder.
“Aight, what you want?”
“One of those big cinnamon pretzels with the cream cheese icing to dip into them from the little café near the strip mall.”
He checked the time on his watch and saw that it was still an hour left before the spot closed.
“I got you, man. I’m spending the night ,though. So don’t put no clothes on,” he warned, sitting up so he could slip into his clothes.
“I’ll just take a bath and freshen up,” Lotus told him.
She sat up, and he met her with a quick kiss. He was dressed in under three minutes and snatching her keys from the dresser near the door.
“I’ll let myself in.”
“Okay.” Lotus smiled and watched him leave the room before falling out on her bed.
The rain had slowed up by the time Eazy got in his car and started it.
He grabbed a blunt from his ashtray and positioned it between his lips before digging his lighter out of his pocket.
There were still clouds in the sky, and thunder rumbled.
He turned on his wipers and slowly cruised down the street.
The strip mall was about ten minutes from Lotus’s spot, and he made good time when he parked in the lot beside the café and directly across from the Walmart.
Even though it was raining, there were still plenty of people out shopping and racing along, trying to escape the elements.
Glancing at his phone in his lap, he decided he would wait a few minutes to see if the rain slowed down before getting out.
Cars still whipped by in the parking lot, splashing rain as the tires brushed against the pavement.
When the rain let up, and he was able to see through his windshield, he put his blunt in the ashtray and prepared to get out.
Crossing the parking lot, he ducked into the café and ordered Lotus two pretzels with the cream cheese icing and got one for himself with the nacho cheese to dip.
After paying for their order, he stepped outside and skimmed the parking lot, looking left then right.
Less than five steps away, something caught his eyes among the people rushing out of Walmart and into the parking lot.
Squinting, thinking his mind was playing tricks on him, Eazy froze.
The woman’s face sent his heart racing and adrenaline pumping.
There’s no fucking way.
Her platinum blonde hair was in a pixie style, and she pulled a hood over her head, but there was no mistaking the tattoos on her neck and face.
The many rings on her fingers sparkled when she grabbed her hood and held it in place.
Eazy moved toward her, and when she looked at him, a cold gust of air swept his spine.
What threw him off his square was when the tall figure emerged from behind.
Head down, smiling at a message he received, he paused beside her.
Tucking the device in his pants pocket, he slid his lanky arm across her shoulders and nuzzled her neck.
Eazy recognized those tatted hands anywhere.
Oracle. Any rational thoughts he had were overshadowed by rage when Eazy lunged at them.
He slammed his former friend into the brick wall beside the automatic doors.
“Oh, my God! Stop it!” Blondie stepped into Eazy’s space, reaching for his arm to free Oracle, who only seemed amused by the situation.
Eazy never budged. Her voice. There was no mistaking it. His loathing glare shifted from Oracle to her.
“Niva?” Eazy breathed.
