Chapter 9
CHAPTER NINE
Fumi
Damn, I’m already sick of his ass. Hood is getting on my last fucking nerve. I wanna call Nuri so bad, but I can’t. I’m sure she’s somewhere with Cash. Thank God Ms. Terry called his ass home, or else he’d probably be outside… still waiting for a conversation he’s not about to have.
Fuck it, let me call Alexis… I got to tell somebody about this nigga. I called Alexis, and she answered on the first ring.
“What’s up?”
“Can you talk?”
“Yes, is everything okay?”
“No…”
Hood is disturbing my peace, and I can’t even talk to Nuri about it.
“What’s wrong?”
I paused for a beat, trying to find the words. “Bitch, call Journee and Nikki on 3-way…”
“Okay…” Alexis brought the girls in on a 3-way.
“What’s wrong?” They asked in unison.
“Which one of y’all hoes told Hood where I live?”
“Say what now?” they asked.
“He came by my apartment as soon as I left, doing the goddamn most.” They all busted out laughing, and I hated that they found this shit funny.
“It’s not funny…”
“Girl, that nigga is coming back for what’s rightfully his,” Journee laughed.
“I haven’t been with him for years; what would make him think I wanna be with him? I promise I ain’t checking for Hood.”
“So, what did he say?” Nikki asked.
“I wasn’t trying to hear nothing he was saying?”
“So, what was he doing?” Nikki asked.
I filled the girls in on everything that happened, leaving nothing out.
“At least, hear him out,” Alexis explained.
“I don’t wanna entertain Hood; I’m outside the summer…”
“Fumi, that man is not about to let you do as you please,” Journee explained. “Girl, niggas like Hood ain’t built for that, especially if it’s something he wants.”
“Hood don’t run shit over here.”
“We know.” They burst into laughter.
“If I make Cohen my man, then what?”
“Girl, Hood ain’t finna let you be with Cohen in his face; don’t even get that man’s feelings hurt and his hopes high.”
“Why not? He was with plenty of bitches before he went in.”
“Look, Fumi, you ain’t wrong about how you feel; nobody is disregarding that. If you like Cohen, let him be before he gets hurt. I’m not saying he can’t defend himself, but niggas like Hood don’t play fair.”
I finished my conversation with the girls. Damn, my mind feels heavy as hell. I still don’t understand what we have to talk about. I turned off my phone and headed to the bathroom. I need a long, hot bath. I filled the tub with oatmeal, lavender, lemon balm, and Dove vanilla body wash.
