Chapter 11 #2
Hood and I walked out of the store. His Porsche was parked on the side of the store, still running. He grabbed my hand and ushered me toward his Porsche. I snatched my hand away. My patience was already gone.
“Stop, you’re doing too much.”
Aunt Cookie was following me to his truck, bitch move around, because whatever conversation we finna have, she ain’t about to be privy to it. Hood opened the passenger door for me; I hopped in. Aunt Cookie was waiting like he was about to let her in.
“Cookie, aye, we need you to move around this conversation, personal.”
Thank ya. At least somebody said it, because I was about to. Hood jogged to the driver’s side and started to pull off.
“Wait, I ain’t say I was riding anywhere with you?”
“I know, I ain’t taking you far yet. I’m just bending the block.”
“You’re doing too much.”
“I ain’t doing enough if you’re still resisting.”
“Whatever. Say what you have to say so we can get this shit over with.”
A small chuckle escaped Hood’s lips.
“You hard on a nigga, Fumi.”
“I’m honest.”
I ain’t really had the chance to take Hood in; he’s definitely gotten better with time.
Jail’s been good to him; he’s picked up weight in all the right places.
Pretty brown skin, fresh haircut, waves on fucking swim, beard and goatee, trim.
His mouth is still flooded with gold and diamonds.
Dope boy fresh, rocking Fendi head to toe, and he smells good as fuck.
And I still ain’t buying what the fuck he’s selling.
“How, you been?”
“I’ve been good until you popped up.”
I ain’t taking it easy on Hood.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Fumi, you had to know that when I touched back down, I was coming for you.”
“Why?”
“Because I still love you and I miss you, Fumi, real shit, and I want to fix what I fucked up.”
“You been fucking up a lot without a title… I’m cool, Hood. I’m outside right now. I ain’t looking for nothing serious, I’m having a good time, and I’m exploring my options, and you ain’t an option.”
“We can’t be friends?”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not?”
“Because we have too much history I’m trying to erase. And we should leave our history in the past.”
“Make me an option.”
“Nope.”
“I’ll make myself one.”
“You can’t just bully your way back into my life.”
“I got to, since you won’t let me in voluntarily.”
“When I left yo ass 7 years ago, you weren’t pressed for real. So why you so pressed now?”
“I was fucked up about you leaving. I didn’t show it, but I was. It’s probably one reason I caught that bid. I wasn’t thinking; I was acting on impulse. I know I’mma make you mine again.”
“I told you I’m dating. I ain’t looking for a relationship or a friendship.”
“I hear you… But hear me out. I’mma make you mine again.”
“Why not make the bitch who fucked up my car yours?”
“I don’t want her. I never wanted her. It’s only one woman in this city who can say we had a real relationship, and that’s you.”
“Take me back to the store.”
“I still got 5 minutes.”
“Nigga, we done talking.”
“We ain’t. I’ll take you to your folks’ house, not the store.”
“You’re hating, ain’t you?”
“Yeah, you ain’t finna be smiling in no niggas’ face while I’m a few feet away, fuck you mean? The fuck you going back up there for anyway?”
“My cousins are up there.”
“Call them and tell them you’re at ya folks’ house.” He laughed. I mushed Hood in his face; he grabbed my hand and kissed it. “Yeah…”
I wasn’t about to argue with Hood; he pulled up in front of my parents’ house.
“Where the Audi?”
“Does it matter?”
“It doesn’t matter. I’mma tell Cash, Nuri’s doing him dirty; y’all think y’all slick as fuck.”
“Nuri is asleep in the house.”
“Let me come in and see.”
“No…”
“Yeah, okay. When can I see you again, friend? I wanna court you.”
“We ain’t friends?”
“I’m asking for one date, Fumi, or I’mma blow this shit up. I know Nuri’s ass ain’t in there; she in my car, smiling at another nigga’s face, while my nigga’s looking for her.”
“Damn, when you start snitching, are you part of Ratlanta now?”
“Nah, I just want a date with you… I’mma do whatever it takes.”
“I’ll let you know when I’m free.”
“That ain’t good enough.”
“I’ll be back through here tonight at 9.”
“I got a date tonight.”
“Cancel that motherfucka and let him know Hood’s home.”
“I can’t stand you.”
“I ain’t doing that. I’ll plug you in tomorrow.”
“I’m serious. Cancel that date. I have to see my PO tomorrow; I might be on curfew and can’t do shit after a certain time.”
“For real…” I beamed proudly.
“Damn, are you happy?”
“Yep, I ain’t got to worry about you harassing me after tonight.”
I burst out laughing.
I slid out of Hood’s Porsche. Nuri owes me big time. I got blackmailed because she’s playing in Cash’s face. Damn, I hate to cancel my date with Cohen, but the sooner I can get Hood out of my face, the better.
I sent Nuri a text.
Me-Cash is looking for you. Hood almost blew up your spot; you owe me.
Nuri- I’m on the way, thank you. Tell Hood to stop hating.
It’s time to get this date over with. What the fuck did I just agree to…
1 date, that’s it. I walked up to the porch; Toyia and Yaneika were sitting there.
I took the empty seat next to Toyia. Aunt Cookie was mugging; I’m sick of the slick shit.
I swear if she says something off the wall, I’mma check her ass.
“Hood finally brought you back? Toyia laughed, and Yuneika started laughing too.”
“Yes… I tried to get him to drop me back off at the store; he was hating on pimp.”
“Cuddy, that nigga still loves you,” Yaneika beamed proudly.
“That’s old news.”
I heard Aunt Cookie smacking her teeth.
“Don’t let Fumi fool y’all; she’s still dealing with that man after he dragged her all those years. Still young and dumb.” Aunt Cookie called herself, checking me.
“Excuse me…”
“You heard what I said.”
“You act like you want to fuck Hood?”
I knew I’d have to check on her; I just didn’t know it would be today.
“It ain’t hard.”
I burst out laughing. “Hood wouldn’t fuck you if you had my pussy.
Let’s be clear. I’m trying to see why you’re so pressed and fucking bothered…
As for being young and dumb, Hood ain’t never played in my face publicly.
I left Hood, let’s be clear, but this nigga is still checking for a bitch who ain’t checking for him for real.
I still got a noose around this nigga’s neck with no rope attached. ”
Toyia and Yaneika both started clapping. “Now that’s how you clear a bitch, auntie or not,” Toyia spat. “I swear, it be your own fucking family.”
Auntie Cookie stormed off the porch. I don’t give a fuck; a bitch can’t say what they want to me and think I won’t pop off. I finished kicking with Toyia and Yaneika before Hood pulled back up.
