Chapter 22 #2

I kissed her on the corner as cars whizzed past us. And Iz kissed me back with the same amount of passion.

Finally, I broke our kiss with a groan. “Want to take this party back to my place?”

“Obviously,” she answered sassily, and I laughed in reply.

I felt damn near giddy the whole drive over and as we climbed the stairs to my apartment.

Iz seemed to feel the same since the second the door closed behind us, she pounced on me, ripping at my zipper and dropping to her knees in front of me.

“Whoa. Princess, you don’t have to—” I had to break off as she’d deftly opened my zipper and was already gripping my dick in her hand. That had to be some kind of record.

“If ever there was a time a guy deserved a blowjob, this has to be it. Now let me do my thing.” She milked my dick with her hand, and I had to bite back my unmanly whimper.

“Fine, but could we at least move this party to the couch so I don’t crack my head open when I come? And it’ll give your knees some relief.”

“Fine,” she echoed with a sigh. “But you’re taking all the spontaneity out of it.”

I laughed as I pulled her up to stand next to me. Then I led the way to the sofa with my erection bobbing in front of us. Judging by the way Iz licked her lips, I didn’t look nearly as ridiculous as I thought.

When we reached the couch, I pulled my pants down to my ankles, leaned back against the cushions and let Iz do whatever the fuck she wanted.

And she clearly wanted me.

Iz attacked my dick with a ravenous zeal I’d never seen outside of pornos. She licked and sucked and milked me with her hands until I begged her to finish me.

“Fuck, that’s so good. I’m close, Iz. So close. You ready?”

She didn’t even murmur a word. If anything, she redoubled her efforts. Sucking harder. Gripping me tighter. Then she did this humming thing in the back of her throat, and I lost it.

I roared as I came. My jizz shooting into her mouth. I tried not to grip her hair too tight. Then finally, I collapsed on the cushions in a boneless heap.

I patted her head lazily. “That was amazing, princess.”

She curled up against my side and flicked the corner of her mouth with a thumb.

“Wait. Did you swallow it all?”

“Kinda had to.” She shrugged. “I was fighting for my life there at the end. You came like a freaking firehose.”

I barked a quick laugh. “Shit, baby. You really have a way with words.”

“Just showing my man how proud of him I am. You’re in! I’m so freaking happy for you.”

I beamed down at her. But then it hit me a second later—what happened after the vote. The scene with Ryker and Beau.

I had to tell her.

“Uh, you hungry?” I asked weakly, desperate to put off the inevitable.

“Is that a joke?” She reared back to give me an incredulous look.

I thought for a second then winced. “Shit. No. Sorry. I just…have something to tell you, and I’m putting it off like a pansy.”

“Oh.” Iz sat up and put some distance between us.

I felt the loss immediately.

She leaned back against the opposite corner of the couch with her knees drawn up and her arms crossed over them like she was bracing for the worst.

Wait, she didn’t think I’d let her blow me and then break up with her?

“Yeah, that’s not going to work for me. Get over here.” I grabbed her arm and pulled her back to me. “I want to hold you when I tell you what happened.”

She relaxed into my side at first, no doubt relieved the news wasn’t that bad, but then grew more and more rigid as I relayed today’s drama—Ryker calling Beau out and their fight we’d had to break up.

“So that’s why he left? Because someone finally called him out on his bullshit? Christ.”

“Pretty much.”

We sat in silence for a moment.

“I think it’s safe to say he’s not going to react well to the news of you and me.”

“You are breaking up with me.” She pushed out of my arms and flailed as she tried to get off the couch.

“Whoa. That’s not what I’m saying.” I jumped off the couch and gestured helplessly. “I’m just saying that maybe we should put the brakes on telling everyone. Give me some more time to meld with the guys before I make waves. Shit did not go down gentle today.”

Iz shook her head. “It doesn’t matter. I have to go back to Seattle anyways. This was never gonna last long.”

“BUT IT SHOULD!” I yelled. Iz flinched, and I tried for a gentler tone. “It should because I’m fucking falling in love with you.

Her eyes grew large. Then she shook her head frantically. “No. You don’t. You can’t.”

“Of course I do. How could I not?” I took a couple cautious steps toward her.

“I love you, Izzy. I love your stubbornness. I love your thoughtfulness. I love how sweet you are. I love your mind and how quick you are to put me in my place. You don’t give up an inch you don’t have to. I love you, Iz.”

Her face crumpled, and she covered her face with her hands. “This wasn’t supposed to happen. You, we, it wasn’t supposed—”

Her sobs made it hard to understand her.

I closed the distance between us and put my arms around her, pulling her to my chest. “Hey, hey, this is a good thing, right?”

She kept on crying.

“And you know, it’s okay if you don’t love me back yet. I love you more than enough for the both of us.”

She gave a tearful laugh. Finally, she pushed away from my chest slightly and swiped at her wet eyes. “Of course I love you. I mean, I wasn’t supposed to. I wasn’t trying to. But you snuck up on me like a freaking ninja and got under my defenses.”

“A love ninja? I kinda like the sound of that. Makes me sound badass.”

She laughed and rolled her eyes at me. Her arms tightened around me as she laid her cheek against my chest again. “What are we going to do? I live in Seattle, and you’re a freaking rock star. You’re going to go on tour soon. And Beau will freak the fuck out when he finds out about us.”

I sighed and rested my cheek on top of her head as I held her tight. “Let’s take it one step at a time. You’ve got leave from your program, right? So we don’t have to make any decisions on that front just yet.”

“Right,” she answered softly.

“And we’re months from touring. We’ve got to record an album first. And we still need the label’s approval before we get into the studio.”

“Okay.” A shuddering sigh left her.

“And as for Beau…we’ll talk to him together. When the time is right.”

“I do like the sound of that.”

“I do too.” I held her even tighter. “Together.”
