9. Dynastie

“I could get used to this. Does he cook all your meals?” I asked as I enjoyed the food the chef had prepared.

“He comes a few times a week when I’m training and makes enough meals for me to eat three times a day for three days, including snacks. When I’m not in training, he comes once a week, and the amount of food he makes varies.”

“Must be nice.”

“It is, but that’s not what this is. I asked him to stop by and make a few things especially for you, and everything he made will be good as leftovers. Unfortunately, I have to stick to my meal plan.”

My eyes scanned the table, and for the first time, I realized there was a hodgepodge of things to choose from, and every dish was one of my favorites. I also noticed that Major was eating something entirely different.

“You remembered.”

“I haven’t forgotten anything about you, baby, especially how every time we ate out, your meals had no rhyme or reason to them. I can’t count the number of times you had me stopping at three different places to get you something to eat.”

“You always said you didn’t mind.”

“I didn’t mind, but that shit was still annoying.”

That explained why there was a hodgepodge of choices, such as pineapple and bacon pizza with barbecue sauce instead of marinara, chicken fried rice, and baked spaghetti. He remembered.

“I don’t do that too much anymore. Gas costs too much to drive all over town getting food from multiple restaurants. It’s easier to cook all the different things I want, but Jord . . . Umm, so yeah. Everything is delicious. My compliments to the chef.”

I stuffed a spoonful of chicken fried rice into my mouth, then looked down at my food, praying Major didn’t catch my slipup. I could feel him staring at me, so I glanced up and caught his narrowed eyes.

“You got a man in Onyx City, Lovie?”

“Huh?”

“You heard me, but I’ll ask you again. Do you have a man?”

I had no idea why his question made me nervous. Jordan and I had broken up, albeit yesterday, but when it happened doesn’t matter. Regardless, I didn’t owe Major a damn thing. If I did have a man, it was none of his business.

“No. I don’t have a man.”

“What were you about to say?”

“Nothing.”

“We lying to each other now?” he questioned.

I frowned, widening my eyes because this nigga had the audacity to question me about lying.

“Apparently, one of us has been lying and is the reason we haven’t spoken to or seen each other in six years.”

“I didn’t lie to you.”

“What do you call it?”

“Nobody lied to you, Lovie. The whole reason I stopped talking to your ass was because I couldn’t lie to you. You ain’t gotta tell me his name, just let me know if you still dealing with the nigga.”

“I told you I don’t have a man, and since we’re on the topic, do you have a woman?”

“No. The last relationship I was in was with you.”

“Let me be more specific. Are you fucking anybody?”

“Only you.”

I rolled my eyes.

“We aren’t fucking.”

“Not yet.”

“Major, this is a serious question.”

“No, Lovie, I’m not fucking nobody. I haven’t had sex with anybody in at least a month.”

“A month? You act like that’s a long time.”

“It may have been longer than that, but a month is plenty long. What about you?”

“What about me?”

“When was the last time you had sex?”

Oh shit! I should’ve kept my mouth shut because he’d turned the tables on me. At no point in this conversation had I anticipated him asking me about my last sexual encounter.

“Umm, it’s been a few,” I said, answering casually.

“A few what, Dynastie? A few days, a few weeks, or a few months.”

I cleared my throat and looked everywhere but at him.

“And before you answer, how many is a few to you?”

I couldn’t believe he was questioning me like this. It had been less than a month since Jordan and I last had sex, but I couldn’t tell Major that.

“A few is three or four,” I finally responded, still stalling.

“So, has it been three or four days, weeks, or months, Dynastie?”

I hated when he called me by my government name. He only did it when he was upset or trying to prove a point. Right now, I thought it was a little of both.

“A week,” I mumbled, my voice lower than a whisper.

“The fuck did you just say?”

His tone pissed me off and reminded me that I didn’t owe his ass a damn thing. Until last night, I was in a relationship, and the person I had sex with was my man.

“It’s been a week. Is that what you wanted to hear?” I responded with confidence and a little bass in my voice that time.

“Nah, but did you make that nigga wrap up every time?”

“You know I don’t play that shit. Hell yeah, I made him wrap up every time.”

Major was my first, and I was adamant about him using a condom every time we had sex for at least the first six months. I was on birth control, but I was still scared I’d get pregnant and ruin my future.

“I know when we were fucking, you didn’t play that shit, but people change all the time.”

As he spoke, he looked at me as if he was questioning everything about me.

“Whatever, Major. Clearly, your ass don’t make a habit out of wrapping up, considering you have a whole five-year-old.”

“The rubber broke.”

“Sure it did. Life didn’t stop for either of us .

. . Well, it did for me temporarily, but that’s neither here nor there.

Life didn’t stop for either of us while we were apart.

If you must know, I dated and had sex with other men over the past six years.

You could’ve been the only one, but you fucked that up.

You’re no longer the only man who’s had the pleasure of feeling or tasting this pussy. Are you happy now?”

“Nah, I’m pissed the fuck off, but it is what it is. I lost my appetite.”

He stood aggressively, pushing the chair back so hard it tipped over, and he didn’t bother to pick it up before stomping away like a damn toddler having a tantrum. I wasn’t compelled to go after him, so I enjoyed the food for a few more minutes.

After I’d had my fill, I found some storage containers in one of his cabinets and put the food away. I wiped down the counters and table, then decided to give myself a tour of this massive home.

Overall, the house's decor was very modern, with touches of traditional decor throughout. Considering it was owned and occupied by a single man, there was a good balance of feminine and masculine appeal.

Aside from the eat-in kitchen and family room on the main floor, there was also a formal living and dining room, what I assumed was his office, and a small library. I went back upstairs, bypassing his room to look in the others.

His daughter’s room, decorated in lavender and silver with Black unicorns, was absolutely adorable.

Four other rooms finished out the floor.

There was a guest room, an office that was furnished with a daybed and could be used as a guest room if needed, a game room/media room, and the last one took my breath away.

“Major, oh my God,” I whispered.

The last room was an art studio. For as long as I’d known Major, he’d loved drawing and painting.

Once I got to know him, I was surprised he didn’t want to be a professional artist or painter.

I was astonished by the beauty on the canvases in that room and thought it was a shame he didn’t share them with the world.

There were several paintings of Maja from infancy to the present day. He’d painted a few of himself in the boxing ring and some showing off his championship belts. I came to a group of them covered by a big white sheet.

Before checking to see what was underneath, I looked toward the door to make sure I was still alone. I slowly lifted the sheet, and what I saw caused me to gasp as tears filled my eyes. Every painting behind the sheet was me.

“They are so beautiful.”

I didn’t know if he’d created the painting from memory or if he’d been creeping on my social media pages, but every one of them captured the essence of me, and I was in complete awe. I covered the paintings and left the room, still amazed by Major’s talent.

This was a big house for one man who only had his daughter part-time, but if his intention was to get married and have more children, I guess it made sense. I traveled back down the hallway to his bedroom and slowly pushed the door open, wiping my eyes to hide any evidence of my tears.

He was lying in the middle of his California king-sized bed with his hands behind his head, looking at the ceiling. I leaned against the doorframe and watched his chest go up and down, unsure if he’d had enough time to cool off.

“Come lay with me,” he said barely above a whisper.

“Are you sure? You seemed pretty upset, and I—”

“Come, Lovie.”

I kept my eyes on him as I slowly approached, climbing on top of the bed when I reached the side.

I tried to lie next to him, but he pulled me on top of him instead.

He wrapped his arms around my body as I rested my head on his chest. Immediately, our breathing synced, and the tension between us disappeared.

It seemed as if it had been a lifetime since we’d been together this way, and I honestly didn’t think we’d ever be like this again.

Deep down, I was hopeful, but I didn’t let the possibility consume me.

There had been no calls, texts, emails, comments on social media posts, or letters exchanged between us that would have led me to believe this was possible.

I didn’t know what to expect when I saw Major. When I wasn’t dreaming about our first interaction, I lay awake, anticipating how I would feel when I saw him. At first, I wanted to hold on to the anger and resentment I had for him, but I was fighting a losing battle.

I wouldn’t pretend that a future with Major wouldn’t be the answer to my silent prayers, but I wasn’t completely sold. When someone hurt you the way Major hurt me, the damage didn’t disappear after a few heated kisses and immaculate head.

He’d have to do a lot more than eat my pussy to completely win me over.

I was too old to allow my lady parts to control all aspects of my life.

I’d be in town for a while, working on his memoir, and I wasn’t opposed to spinning the block.

Hell, Nelly and Ashanti were apart for ten years before they reunited, and things seemed to be working well for them.

“We’ve lost too much time to argue over stupid shit,” he said.

“I agree.”

“I’ve been loving you from afar for too long.

I want to love you up close and personal, out loud, and proud.

I don’t want to hide, I don’t want to push down my feelings, and I don’t want there to be any confusion about who you are and what you mean to me.

I’ll let you lead with this, but I need you to understand how I’m coming. ”

I lifted my head to look at him, but all I could see was his beard, something he didn’t have the last time I saw him. I reached up and grabbed it, combing my fingers through it before massaging his chin.

“I like you with the beard.”

“Me too. Especially when it’s saturated in your juices and immersed in your scent.”

“Wow. That nasty mind and mouth of yours hasn’t changed a bit.”

“The only thing that’s changed about me is the depth of my love for you. Why don’t you have a seat on my face and let me show you?”

My nipples hardened, and my pussy throbbed at the sheer mention of him putting his mouth on me, and it didn’t matter what part of my body it was. He moved his hands to my sides and slowly eased my dress up until my ass was exposed.

I didn’t bother putting on any underwear after I showered, so the dress was the only item of clothing in his way. He massaged my ass cheeks while simultaneously pressing me against his erection. I let my legs fall to the side of his body, allowing the friction between us to deepen.

“After you cum on my face, I’m gon’ cum on yours, then I’m gon’ fill you with my seeds. Get up here.”

I didn’t need to be coaxed into riding Major’s face, so I sat up, pulled my dress over my head, and climbed up his body. Before I could brace myself, using the headboard, he latched on.
