19. Dynastie
Jordan/Dontrell was arrested, and I went into my condo with two other officers to assess the damage. It was a lot, to say the least. While they took pictures, I walked around, mentally taking inventory of what was once my home, and I couldn’t stop the tears from falling.
“They’re just things, baby, and they can be replaced.”
Major was trying to comfort me, but after what he’d said less than ten minutes ago, he could really kiss my ass.
“Everything and everyone is replaceable,” I responded, full of attitude, and walked into my bedroom.
He followed me, wrapping me in his arms from behind and forcing me to stop walking.
“I’m sorry, Lovie. I didn’t mean that shit.”
“Tuh. I think you did. I think you believed him, even though I told you I never—”
“Gimme a break, Lovie. It was a lot to process.”
We were standing in my walk-in closet, where all my clothes had been pulled from the hangers and were on the floor. The stench of urine combined with bleach filled the air, and I felt like I would vomit at any moment.
He put his hands on my shoulders and turned me around. His index finger slipped under my chin, and he lifted my head, then used his thumbs to wipe my tears.
“I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m sorry I took my anger out on you. I’m sorry for what I said. I’m sorry that a situation in my life put you in the middle of something that had nothing to do with you. I’m so sorry for everything, baby.”
I didn’t want to, but I let my head fall onto his chest and released more tears. He held me until I lifted my head and stepped away.
“I can’t breathe in here,” I told him.
We left my closet, and I looked around my bedroom. It looked like Freddy Krueger or Edward Scissorhands had gotten hold of it and went to town. My heart skipped a beat when I thought about my safe. I rushed to the side of my bedframe and looked under the bed.
“Oh, thank God.”
I pulled the small safe from underneath the bed and held it to my chest, wrapping my arms around it.
“What’s in there?” Major asked.
“Some very important things.”
The TV that had been mounted on the wall lay on the floor next to me, shattered, and there was a hole in the wall where it had been. I stood, still holding the safe, looking around at the damage.
“I have to start all over.”
“I got you, baby, for whatever you need.”
“Do you, Major? Because what you said out there, and the way you looked at me was fucked up. I appreciate your apology, but I can still hear those words echoing in the back of my mind.”
“I know it was fucked up, but I swear I don’t believe you knew who he was, and I don’t believe you did what he said. I know you would’ve never entertained him if you knew.”
His words hurt, but I wasn’t in the mental space to talk about it.
“I’m ready to go,” I told him.
“Okay. Brax and Jrue went down to the police station.”
“You don’t have to go?”
He shook his head. “No. They questioned me already, and Brax and Jrue will tie up any loose ends. When they’re done, they’re heading back to Atlanta. We can take an Uber to a hotel.”
“My car is in the garage.”
“I guess we can take that.”
By the time we checked into the Onyx City Hotel and Suites, I was exhausted in every sense of the word. I had no idea what our plans were beyond bathing and going to bed, and I didn’t care. We quietly showered together before crawling into bed.
“Lovie.”
“Yeah.”
“Please tell me you believe me.”
“Major, I’m exhausted.”
I had my back to him, and he moved as close to me as possible, with his back against my chest, and wrapped me in his arms.
“I love you,” he whispered.
I didn’t respond immediately because I had to muster up enough energy to do so.
“I love you too.”
The next time I opened my eyes, I saw my feet on a set of strong shoulders, and a head between my legs.
“Mmm, shit,” I moaned as Major’s tongue played between my pussy lips.
I palmed his head and opened my legs wider, attempting to give him more access than he had. He dipped his arms under my ass and wrapped them around my upper thighs, bringing my pussy closer to his face if that was possible.
“Damn, baby.” I cried.
His mouth left no parts of my pussy untouched, and he even gave my asshole some action. My body began to tingle from head to toe as I reached my peak, and I screamed to the heavens.
Major released my legs and kissed up my body, starting with my stomach, lingering on my breasts, and devouring my mouth. I inhaled my morning essence on his face as I tasted it on his lips, and it made my pussy wetter.
He pressed his way inside me, stretching me wide. I moaned, he groaned, and we exhaled as he sank into me, and my walls tightened around him. He tore his mouth from mine, causing me to open my eyes and catch him staring.
“I love so fucking much, Lovie. Please forgive me and come home with me forever.”
I’d agree to anything when his dick was touching my soul.
“Okay.”
We made love like it was our first time experiencing each other, and I could’ve stayed in bed with him for days on end. When we finally rolled out of bed and took care of our hygiene, I realized I had nothing to wear.
“You didn’t pack anything in your backpack?” Major asked, tossing me one of his T-shirts.
“I was in panic mode, so no, I didn’t. I was honestly hoping he’d left my bedroom untouched.”
“I’ll go downstairs and see what I can find. Can you order room service?”
“Thank you, and do you want anything in particular?”
“The past twelve hours have been stressful, and I need some damn food. Order me whatever you’re having.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to mess up your training.”
“I’ll be fine,” he said before leaving.
It was after noon, so I ordered a fairly healthy lunch, then called my family.
Another three-way call would have them on high alert, but I didn’t want to tell this story more than once.
I’d texted our family chat to let them know I was okay, but I didn’t have the energy to do more than that last night.
I summarized the events from the previous night as quickly and as thoroughly as I could, and the three of them were in disbelief, but my brother had the most to say.
“Didn’t I tell you something was up with that nigga? I bet you believe me now,” he said.
“What I don’t need right now is an I told you so, Naseem. He violated me in more than one way, and all you can think about is being right.”
“She’s right, Son. Have some compassion,” Ma said.
“My bad, Dy. You know I’m just messing with you. I’m just glad he’s out of your life.”
“Thank you, Seem.”
“I’m glad you’re okay, baby girl. When are you coming home?” my father asked.
“I don’t know. My condo is in horrible condition. I need to get whatever is salvageable out, hire someone to do the repairs, and put it on the market.”
“We’ll come out there to help,” Ma offered.
“I don’t know if that’s necessary. Not many of my things can be saved, and the rest will be up to whoever I hire to get the place ready to sell. I’ll probably be here for a few more days at least, maybe a week.”
Major entered the room with a bag from one of the hotel stores and what I assumed was our food on a rolling cart.
“I’m about to eat lunch. I’ll keep y’all posted with my plans. Love y’all.”
“Love you too,” they chimed.
Major gave me the bag, and I looked inside to see what he’d purchased for me to wear. I pulled out a basic pair of black cotton shorts and a T-shirt with the hotel logo. I laughed and shook my head at his choice.
“What’s funny? It was all they had,” he said defensively.
“I’m guessing they didn’t have panties and bras.”
He shrugged. “I didn’t even look. You don’t need them anyway.”
“We can stop somewhere later, and I’ll grab a few things. I tried to order something healthy for you,” I told him when I noticed him looking at the food.
“This is cool. Thank you.”
After washing his hands, he moved the food from the rolling cart to the table in the corner of the room. As soon as he sat down, he picked up his turkey club sandwich and took a huge bite.
“Hungry much?” I teased as I sat across from him.
“Baby, I’m starving. Why doesn’t my sandwich have bacon?”
“Because bacon isn’t healthy.”
“I told you I’d eat whatever. Some fries would’ve been fine, but I guess this salad will have to do.”
“I won’t be the cause of you falling off your fitness wagon. I got you a bowl of fruit too.”
“Thank you.”
We sat quietly for a few minutes while we enjoyed our food. I was starving as well because I hadn’t eaten since lunch the previous day.
“Once we settle everything here, we should drive your car home. I don’t want you coming back here for any reason.”
“What if it takes a few weeks for the repairs? You can’t stay away from your training that long.”
“I’m not leaving you here to handle this alone. I’m not trying to gloat or brag, but I have a lot of money, Lovie. I’ll find a gym I can use that has everything I need to train. I already talked to Fox, and he’ll be here tomorrow.”
“What about Maja?” I asked.
“Depending on how long we’re here, I’ll make arrangements if I need to.”
“You’ve already thought this through, huh?”
“I have, so let me support you in whatever way you need.”
“Okay. I’ll see if my friend Zena has any realtor contacts, since I’m not using the company Jordan worked for.”
“I can’t believe he changed his name to Jordan. I guess he needed a name to go along with his new face,” Major said, shaking his head.
“I wouldn’t believe any of this shit if it didn’t happen to me, or I didn’t witness it firsthand, but let’s table that conversation for a few minutes. We have a lot to talk about.”
“Yeah, we do.” He agreed. “Do you want to start with anything in particular?”
I still wanted to address his comments from last night, but after the orgasms he gave me this morning, I could hold off on that for a bit. He seemed regretful and had apologized, but he wasn’t off the hook. There was something else I felt was more pressing.
“Tell me what was wrong with you before you left for Atlanta.”
“After everything that happened less than twelve hours ago, you’d rather talk about my mood two days ago.”
“I would.”
He sighed, ran his hand down his face, then ate the last of his sandwich. I continued eating while waiting for him to finish chewing, forcing myself not to rush him.
“I was eavesdropping on your conversation with your therapist.”
“You what?”
I’d heard him, but I prayed I’d heard him wrong.
“I heard some of your conversation with your therapist. I know I shouldn’t have eavesdropped, but—”
“You’re a piece of fucking work. It’s like you don’t want us to work, because you keep doing dumb shit to mess everything up. You listened to my therapy session, Major. That’s a violation of my privacy.”
“I know, and I was wrong, but I can’t take it back now.”
“I’m guessing something I said bothered you.”
“Yeah.”
“Good. It serves you right. Maybe next time someone is having a private conversation, you won’t violate their privacy.”
“I’ll do my best, but can we talk about what I overheard?”
“How about you pretend you didn’t hear it since it was none of your business in the first place?”
“Our baby is my business!” he shouted.
