A Match Made in Error (Pumpkin Spiced Cauldron)
Announcement from the Moirai
It is that time of year again.
The Festival of Fates commences.
To all unmatched souls, wishful hearts, skeptical cynics, and brave romantic fools—
you have been summoned not by chance, but by fate.
The Festival of Fates now stands open, its enchanted gates wide beneath a sky embroidered with stars and auguries. Within the ring of sacred stone, magic stirs, dice await, and twelve sigils pulse, hungry for truth. You will love. You will falter. You will be watched.
Be warned:
Those who wish to make a mockery of the Moirai will meet our bitter curse. Unlucky in love for seven turns of the realm around the suns.
This is not a trial of perfection. It is a trial of what happens when fate meets intention.
These are our rules:
Rule One: The Sacred Match Roll
Love cannot be chosen blindly, nor forced upon cold hearts. But after collecting data and arranging possible matches, a roll may reveal your truest match.
The dice do not make love. The enchanted dice merely whisper what hearts already know, but minds refuse to see.
Rule Two: The Cohabitation Clause
You are required to share dwellings with your match for one turn of the moon. This is not a punishment. This is proximity, pressure, and potent potential. The strongest diamonds are created through crushing trials. Unwashed dishes and late-night conversations shall be your trials.
Rule Three: The Weekly Ceremonies
Within the month, you will be offered opportunities for courtship. Bonding to allow your hearts to turn toward one another’s.
You will also face a weekly challenge. Under the eyes of the Moirai and an audience of your peers, you will face trials. In these trials, your skills and ability to work together will be tested, and enchanted dice rolls will determine your fate.
Audience members of the realm vote to shape the couples’ experiences.
Each challenge, the couple with the highest emotional resonance score shall win a prized experience worth their weight in gold.
The couple with the highest emotional resonance score at the end of the Festival will earn a trip, anywhere in the realm, to celebrate their union.
Remember:
The Festival is sacred. The Moirai are mercurial. And love—true love—must be both chosen and earned.
You may roll poorly. You may have doubts. But should your bond survive the Well of Possibility, the weekly trials, the laughter, and the late-night arguments, then know this:
You were not merely matched. You were meant. And if the dice reveal an eighteen or higher on the final roll of the Festival, then a soul-bond will be forged.
Signed with ink, starlight, and just a touch of drama,
—The Moirai
P.S. It has always been true but bears some thought; we, the Moirai, reserve the right to change the rules at our whim.
