I made a lot of mistakes when I was young. Hid who I was. Drowned my troubles in booze and drugs. Bullied the only out kid at my high school. By the time I told him how I felt, it was too late.

He hated me too much to forgive me. Yes, him. The guy I bullied. Colt Darling, the first boy I ever loved, and the one who broke my heart.

Now I’m all grown up, sober and successful, and who should cross my path on Christmas Eve but that same guy I used to torment in school. He’s all grown up now too, and he looks better than ever.

Worse, I feel the same pull to him that I tried so hard to deny back then. When he asks if I want to catch up, I know it’s a bad idea. Nothing good can come of it.
