Chapter 5 #2

He slid the plate onto the table. “Try one and find out.” And yes, his heart was now in his throat. Suddenly it mattered what

she thought.

“They look amazing.” Jessica reached for one. “Did you make them?”

“I did.” As Olivia picked one up and took a bite, his pulse rocketed. And it wasn’t just from seeing her tongue dart out to

lick sugar off her lips.

“What are we eating?”

She glanced up at him, and while Ashley and Jessica were making all the right noises, he couldn’t tell what she thought. “You’re

eating Boston cream doughnuts, which are basically fried doughnuts filled with pastry cream and dipped in chocolate.” Yeah, way to big them up, Harris. “The layered croissant dough rolled in churro sugar are morning buns. And there’s also some blueberry muffins.”

She nodded and took another bite of the doughnut, which he tried to be happy about. At least she wasn’t spitting it out, right?

“Ahead of you is Brant Point Lighthouse,” he continued, figuring giving the tour spiel was easier than waiting for her verdict.

“It was built in 1746 and is America’s second oldest lighthouse. It’s still operational today. As we head round the island,

you’ll see another lighthouse at Great Point where we’ll anchor for a while to give you time to explore. Then we head off

to Siasconset Beach for lunch.”

“Sounds perfect.” Ashley stood up. “I’m just going to check on my daughter.”

“Oh, me too.” Jessica leapt to her feet. “Got to make sure the bride-to-be is happy.”

The pair of them dashed off, but not before grabbing a doughnut each.

“Jesus.” Olivia shook her head. “Could they be any more obvious?”

He lowered himself onto the padded bench next to her. “So, when am I taking you to dinner?”

She raised her eyes skyward. “Not that again. We both know you’re not interested in eating with me, just having sex with me.”

“Oh, we know that, do we?” Frustration zipped through him. Something he’d never been any good at hiding. With a quick check

to confirm the rest of the boat party were all at the front, he took hold of her hand, pulled her up, and led her toward the

stairs.

“Wait, where are you taking me?”

He ignored her, his blood still humming, an explosive cocktail of anger and want, need. Before he could second-guess himself,

he’d opened the door to the small indoor lounge and walked her back against the wall. Her breath hitched as he took a step

toward her, coming right into her personal space, hands on the wall on either side of her head, caging her in. “You need to

shove me away if you don’t want this.”

Lust fired through him as she swallowed and licked the lips he’d spent far too much time thinking about. Taking it as a green

flag, he slowly lowered his mouth, giving her time to tell him to stop, time to knee him in the nuts and walk away. Then it

was too late for turning back because his mouth had found hers, and nothing short of the boat capsizing was going to stop

him from tasting her. From diving his tongue into the moist heat of her mouth. And, fuck, she tasted of doughnut. Taking a

moment to steady himself, he swept his tongue across her lower lip, then groaned. “You taste of chocolate.”

“That’s your fault.” Her breathing was erratic, her breasts swelling against his chest.

“I like tasting my food on you.” He thrust his hips, where he was rock hard and jammed against his zipper. “A little too much.”

She inhaled sharply, but he swallowed whatever she might have said as he crashed his mouth back down on hers. It was perfection,

it was heaven, but kissing just wasn’t enough. Not when he could feel her body shift against his. He moved his hands from

the wall and slid them down her bare arms, feeling the softness of her skin, the toned muscles. Arousal burned through him

as he imagined that skin sliding against his, the mix of sweat and heat, of hypersensitized nerves and delicious friction.

More. His tongue plunged deeper into her sweet mouth, exploring with long, savoring strokes, driving his lust higher and higher.

“Fuck.” Letting out a guttural groan, he reluctantly took a step back. Before he couldn’t. Before his body took over and all

common sense flew out the window. He touched his hand to her chin and drew her eyes up to meet his. “So, about that dinner.”

She let out a huff of husky laughter. “You’re kidding.”

“I don’t kid about dinner.”

She gave a little shake of her head, but her eyes darted away from his.

He got why she wanted to make it all about sex. How else could she justify being attracted to a guy like him? And, yeah, it

hurt, but not enough to stop him. “That was a taste of what it would be like, you and me, when we’re somewhere private and

I can explore you properly.” He bent to nudge his nose against hers, giving her another kiss, gentle this time, even though

everything inside him demanded harder, deeper. Dirtier. “I think we can agree, it would be explosive.”

He waited for her to look at him and felt a surge of satisfaction when she nodded.

“You want a sex toy for the rest of your stay here rather than a dinner date, a tour guide? I’m not going to complain. No

fucking way. Not if it means I get to do all the things I’ve spent the past two nights dreaming of.” He placed his hand on

her cheek, lightly cupping her face. “But to be clear, I want both.” With a final soft press of lips to hers, he shifted away.

“I’ll leave you to think about it.”

He started to walk away, but halted and turned when she called his name.

“When we stop at Siasconset, will you be making the lunch?”

He frowned. “Is that a problem?”

“Not for me.” A slow smile spread across her face. “Might be for you.”

“Oh?”

“Those Boston cream doughnuts will be a hard act to follow.”

With that, she ducked past him and disappeared back up the stairs. He was left staring after her, a goofy grin on his face.

And a hard dick he didn’t think was going down any time soon.
