Chapter Bastille
Bastille
“Ren, you take that braid out my hair, and I will Kick your ass; Bas put it there, and you will just have to deal with it”, I hear my sister scold her mate, I smile when I see her stroke the braid I put in her hair, Bou was adamant she needed something, Brayden named my bear when he was three, I wonder if it would have been different if Ember had been around, thankfully she isn’t a princess so it wouldn’t have been something like fluffy, or teddy, my bear snorts at my inner thoughts as I focus back on my sister,
“Sorry, baby, you know I love your hair when it’s loose and wild, always have” He kisses her softly as she whispers something in Japanese, which he repeats: he then steps back and heads to the office, giving Bray a nod as he passes him.
Dad, Ren, and Declan walk in and out of view. Brayden holds his hand out to Ember, which she slowly takes. It hurts that she is always nervous to accept affection and kindness from us, but at the same time, I understand her hesitation.
“We won’t let anyone retake you, and you will never be hurt again if it’s in our power to prevent it, little sister.
” When they both look at me, I startle at the similarity, I quickly snap a photo of the two of them and smirk, then take another as they go from a matching look of awe to frowns, Ember looks nothing like me and Dec, whereas there are parts of Brayden that do, but their eyes match, eyes that shine like a nights sky, dark blue with flecks of white.
My twin siblings enter the office side by side with me behind them. She will soon learn that she’s no longer alone! Yes, our father and uncles will protect her, but Dec, Bray and I will be fighting alongside her, like we always should have been.
