Epilogue

"Why do villains always hide, either at the bottom of dungeons or at the tops of towers?

" Anna said to herself as she stood at the entrance of the skyscraper.

Then she reached into her purse, took out a men's watch, and looked sadly at the slowly ticking hands.

"Today is the day, Arthur!" she smiled and put them back as she stepped forward.

There was practically no one in the spacious lobby, except for two burly men who were bored at the security post.

"Hello, fancy girl. Who's the lucky guy going to fuck you tonight?" One of them asked, grinning predatory.

"Get out of my way, you pests!" Anna squeezed out, and as she did, yellow sparks flashed in her eyes.

Both men laughed loudly. "Did you bump your head, little witch?" one said. "Shall we have some fun?" the other added.

"Such stupidity and arrogance on the part of lesser demons!" Anna shook her head and raised her hands, palms up, and then abruptly clenched them into fists. In the next instant, one of the guards was engulfed by yellow flames, eating him alive.

"What the hell?" the man roared, jumping away from his less fortunate partner in fear. "You fucking bitch!" He roared the next moment and rushed towards.

The witch waved her hand, as if fending off an annoying fly, and suddenly fierce winds hit her opponent slamming him into the nearest wall.

Silence settled in the hall and all that remained was the sound of heels tapping on the floor. Approaching the guard, Anna ripped off his keycard and headed for the elevator without encountering any further resistance.

Leaning against the railing, the witch counted down the seconds in boredom. She had to wait almost three minutes in total before getting to the top floor.

When the doors finally opened, Anna entered a spacious penthouse. In the far corner of the room stood a giant figure, illuminated by the setting sun's rays shining through tinted windows.

"What a pleasant surprise, Mother!" he said, emphasizing the last word. In the next moment, his body began to change its appearance, acquiring demonic outlines.

"Don't ever dare to call me that!" Anna hissed through her teeth.

"But this is exactly what you are! Or do you prefer to be just a vessel?" Heball continued to speak malevolently, walking towards the witch. "Anyway, entertain me. How did you even manage to get past my guys?"

"Those two weaklings? They couldn't have stopped me even in the old days!"

"Oh yes, you are Archdemon's greatest servant!" Getting close, he roughly grabbed Anna's neck with a clawed hand. "But against me, you are just a helpless whore!"

"Rude as ever... Well, it's time to teach you some manners, son!" the witch said, placing her hand to demon forearm, and a moment later, he screamed in pain.

"You... How?" Heball stared dumbfounded at Anna, then at his hand which had a burn in the shape of a palm.

"Why you even ask such silly question?" The witch raised her open palm to her face and blew on it. Snowflakes swirled towards the man and turned into ice spikes as they drew closer.

The demon managed to create a magical barrier around himself, but several needles still pierced through and dug in his skin.

With a roar, Heball rushed at Anna, but its claws with a terrible screech hit an invisible wall and never reached his opponent.

The witch did not move and only smiled mockingly. "I really loved you... But you are just an insensitive and selfish monster, who I foolishly believed was my child."

The demon jumped back a few steps, furiously flapping his bat-like wings and raising gusts of wind, however, it did not hurt the woman in any way.

Realizing that he had no choice, he turned around and grabbed a chair. Using all his strength, he hurled it toward the window. The glass shattered with a loud crash and bright sunlight temporarily blinded Anna.

Heball was about to jump out when suddenly the witch appeared before him and struck him hard with a wave of pure magic. "You're not getting away!"

The demon, growling, tried to stand up, but then his eyes met Anna's. "Mother, please spare me!" he mumbled, looking into her cold eyes in horror.

"I told you not to call me that." In the next moment, a spear of pure yellow energy materialized in her hand, and without hesitating, she plunged it into the demon's heart.

A minute passed, but the expression of horror on Heball's face remained even though he already left the world of living.

Anna fell to her knees and burst into tears. She knew that he was never really her child. He deserved such a fate. But despite all that, there was nothing she could do as she felt loss...

It's been almost a month since Arthur was completely replaced by Camellia, but it was only today that Anna decided to finally fulfill her promise.

"Mother, who does these graves belong to?" The girl asked in a trembling voice, while squeezing the woman's hand, standing next to her.

"To the family of a good friend of mine, to whom you owe your birth." It was quite hard for Anna to say those words, especially considering that Garnard had erased all of Camellia's memories.

The witch knelt down and dug a small hole with her hands.

Into this hole, she placed the wedding rings and spoke in half-whisper so that her companion could not hear.

"Even if not with his own hands, Arthur avenged your death, but the price was an eternal imprisonment in the depths of this girl's subconscious. "

Camellia brought her hands up to her face and started to wipe away the tears that were running down her cheeks.

"Why am I crying?" she asked, without needing an answer.

After that, she sat down on her knee and with magic grow a flower above the hole.

Anna looked at her daughter with a warm smile.

"Looks like you're satisfied after all, my friend," she thought and then hugged girl, pulling her closer to her chest.
