Chapter 54
Easy to Love [Bryce Savage]
The door opens after the first knock. As soon as they come into focus, the dagger in my hand swiftly rises to his throat and rests against his Adam’s apple. Fiery red eyes glare down at me, and his brow arches challengingly.
I step into his room, almost guiding him until I’m inside. My leg kicks out and swings the door until it slams shut. I take another step, and he takes the same step. His movements match mine until we’re in the centre of his room.
“Pandora,” he says, but there’s no agency in his voice, “what are you doing?”
My grip tightens on the hilt. “I came to kill you before you killed me tonight. I know you, Reen. You won’t let me leave.”
A smirk settles across his face, and an unsettling feeling in my stomach flutters when he steps toward me. The blade sinks into his neck, grazing his flesh. I step back to give myself space from him when he takes another step toward me.
“I don’t think you came here to kill me,” he says.
My hand shakes when he steps forward, and I step back.
“We have gotten to know each other, and if you were here to kill me, you would have done it by now.” Another step, and I hit the desk near the door. “You came here for something else.”
“No,” I say through clenched teeth.
He leans down, and when he does, I bite back. A drip of crimson slips down his throat, but he doesn’t care. Prince Reen leans into me and rests his hands on either side of my waist. He cages me against the table, and his arms are a barrier preventing me from leaving.
His soft and warm breath flushes against my cheek, sending a shudder across my chest until my nipples swell.
“You want to know what it feels like to have me inside you,” he says against my ear.
“But you’re afraid I will kill you mid-fuck.
So, you come here with a dagger and beg-me-to-fuck-you eyes. ”
“Reen…”
“And if it were going to happen, why not now, before we reach Oceanview Harbour?”
I arch my chin. “I want to feel something.”
His fingers pinch the shirt. Warmth spreads heartily as flames coil around the fabric.
Ashen cinders fall away from me and expose my chest and very erect nipples.
More heat flushes against my thighs, but it doesn’t hurt when the flames burn away the sweatpants until I’m leaning against the table naked.
As he undresses, his eyes never leave mine. With the dagger still at his throat, even when he takes his shirt off, I press my palm against the table and prop myself up. I don’t dare to look down because the imagery from before frightens me, even to know what it looks like when it’s hard.
I open my legs, and with all the courage to keep my voice from quivering, I say, “I don’t want love. I don’t want just sex. I want you to fuck me as hard as you can until I fucking break, Reen.”
“Then keep the dagger on me. I haven’t fucked someone without obligations before. I might get heated and have the urge to snap your neck without a thought.”
“Why the fuck does that turn me on?” I say breathlessly.
His fingers brush against my thigh, and a hitched breath shatters out of my parched lips as they stroke against the burns plaguing my skin. He inches closer until the heat throbbing between my legs becomes unbearable.
Through my thick lashes, I keep a steady gaze on Reen. A tingling sensation moves across my mouth as his lips find mine. My hands move to his waist, guiding him to me while his mouth moulds to mine and his hot, silky tongue dances with mine.
My legs tighten around him. His hands on my hips grip fiercely, and in one swift motion, he slams into me.
My head tips back, my fingernails rip at his flesh, and I cry in agony and bliss.
Reen pulls out until his tip tastes me, then slams into me again. Heat, pain, and fucking excitement course through me as he slams into me again.
And again.
And again.
And a-fucking-gain.
While his hand grabs my hip fiercely and strokes the burns, his other hand moves through my hair until strands snap, and he tips my head back, exposing my neck.
His tongue draws up the nape, across my jaw and to my lips.
I glare at him, but there’s desire flourishing through me, and I can tell he feels it, for his intensely red eyes glare at me hungrily, too.
He keeps slamming into me. With every thrust, the desk trembles under the pressure. It squeaks, and the sound of wood splitting reaches my ears every time Reen pulls out and grips my flesh until pain bites through as he slams into me so fucking hard the desk hits the wall, vibrating on impact.
Reen also seems to notice the sounds of a trembling office desk. His hand on my hip grabs my arse, and after one more powerful thrust, he lifts me as the table legs break away. “Fucking pathetic piece of fucking furniture,” he spits venom.
His jaw locks, and there’s a sense of irritation when he leans to the side, grabs the edge of the table and flings it away as if it were nothing.
The top of the table flips, hitting the wall across the room.
But before I can focus on it and the earth-shattering noise that accompanied it, Reen slams me against the wall.
Through the pain pulsing across my back, he keeps fucking me.
The arms at my side move, and while his hand has a hold of my wrists and pins my arms over my head until my back arches, the other hand twitches against my hip.
Those fiery eyes of his lock onto my throat, and there’s a glimmer of lustful thirst. With a wicked grin, I arch my chin and expose my neck. “Choke me,” I say.
In one swift motion, his hand snaps to my neck and tightens. With every thrust of his hips and shudder of delight from him gliding inside me, his fingers squeeze. It makes me wet, and his length soaks with my juices until he’s fucking swimming in it.
The dagger tightens when Reen leans into me, grazing his neck as he kisses me.
His tongue dances with mine. Our hips move as one until my legs flush with heat and a sense of numbness as he breaks my walls and burns me from the inside out.
Our hands harden on our choice of weapon, heat flushes to my face, and the circulation causes difficulty breathing.
“Reen,” I pant. “Tighter.”
“You will pass out.”
I lean away from him, and a sadistic smile reaches my lips. “Good.”
The hand at my throat constricts until little air slips in and out of my lungs.
Tipping my head until I gaze at the ceiling, my back arches, and I expose my chest. A moan breaks through my lungs when his mouth finds my nipple, and as I imagined, his entire mouth soaks my breast, greedily having it all.
Reen bites down after a hard, intense suck, and pain spreads through me, prickling my hair until it stands on end.
He unshackles my hands from above my head, and with this new sense of power, I lean forward and grind to the same rhythm of his intense thrusting.
My hands grip his hair, my mouth finds him, and my tongue craves to taste every ashen breath until I’m high on him, this feeling and the throbbing pain filled with excitement and lust.
“Reen, I’m going to come,” I say through hitched breaths.
“Pandora, I fucking swear,” he growls. “I’m not even touching your clit. Keep it together.”
His hand tightens on my throat, either through irritation or lust. It doesn’t matter because it makes me come undone.
My legs tremble around him as I orgasm. Arching my back, I rest against the wall. Ice cracks up the it, crystallising and glistening into a pink hue when I come for him.
“Fuck. You’re tightening around my cock,” he says.
Black fire erupts, engulfing my ice with his inferno.
The room burns. Thick smoke and ash suffocate the air until I’m choking on it.
Black blotches throb in the corner of my eyes, but I keep the dagger firm against his throat because I don’t want this feeling to end.
Not now.
It feels too fucking good to give up.
He keeps pounding into me through our orgasm relentlessly, with no signs of exhaustion.
The ceiling collapses on us, turning into cinders. And through the sounds of the roaring flames, exhausted moans and the taste of ash settling on the tip of my tongue, I pass the fuck out through it all.
The last movement I make, the dagger slips away from his throat and clatters on the floor. The last sound I hear is the dark chuckle of the man I seem to have feelings for.
A throbbing pulse of pain drums across my temple. My body feels on fire, tingling with numbness… especially between my legs. Every bone in my body doesn’t want to move, and when I do, they ache.
With a groan, I force myself to sit up. The first thing I notice is the bedsheets. How can I forget the sheets I’ve slept in since moving to Oceanview Harbour?
My focus then scans the room. The mirror with the towel hanging over it to prevent me from seeing myself, and the dresser with make-up and lotions, to the piles of clothes on the floor. There’s no trash or smell of lingering dust, meaning someone cleaned the room.
Shuffling out of bed, I drag my hands through my hair and exhale deeply. I’m dressed, minimal as it may be. Even so, clothes cover me.
“Pandora?”
In the darkest part of the room, Reen steps out. I smile until I notice what he’s wearing. My smile falters, and my hands tighten on the sheets. He has a letter in his hand and slaps it against his palm while walking toward me.
“No rest day?” I joke.
He smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “You were resting for almost a day. Alad gave you fluids to keep you hydrated and healthy. He even cleaned your room. Your throat has healed, too, thanks to a healer in Oceanview Harbour.”
“And now you’re ready to remove my life after caring for it?”
Reen places the letter on my lap. “I don’t want to kill you, so…here’s your ultimatum. Alad knows what’s inside and is waiting outside your apartment. When you’re ready, leave your apartment with resolve thick on your tongue.”
“Where are you going?” I ask when he moves toward the door.
He stands at it, almost towering, and says, “I’ll be waiting.”
When he leaves, I tear the envelope and take out the paper. My heart flutters, tears brimming in my eyes.
“Idiot…”
