Thirty #2

Her thighs try to squeeze together, but that provokes Pye, their wings flapping to drive their hips into her.

Every thrust sends her inching up the chaise, and her hair splays around her, chemise hiked above her chest. She is a disaster, but she has never felt more real than this.

She grips the arm of the chair behind her, hand brushing the hard keratin sprouting from her head.

Horns.

Her eyes fly open, but Pye’s expression hasn’t changed. If anything, the craving in his eyes has heightened. He cups the side of her face while he rolls into her. “Let me see you, Avi. Don’t hide from me.”

She exhales sharply, but she doesn’t flinch. She doesn’t pull away.

Emotion swells in Pye’s eyes. An almost-familiar crackling sound rips through the room before four pink tentacles unfurl from his back.

Avirin blinks in surprise.

Pye tightens his hold on the chaise. “Coremata. They come out when my desire is — strongest.” Pye’s hand travels down to Avirin’s cheek.

“They tore through my dress that first night with Cascade. From watching you.” Pye’s knuckles brush her skin, and his eyes shudder closed, coremata twitching in response.

“I thought I could restrain myself this time, but I should have known.” His laugh is weak, like the exertion of holding the tendrils back has sapped his strength.

There’s an apologetic lilt to his voice. “Are you frightened?”

The appendages bob a safe distance behind him, but Avirin can’t help her curiosity. She extends her fingers toward one, and it responds instantly, pressing into her palm. Her answer comes even more easily than she expected. “No. I want every part of you.”

Only once she says it does she understand.

Her fingers move over Pye’s coremata the same way his hands brush the base of her horns.

Pye looks at her as if she’s powerful. She feels powerful at seeing the way his body reacts to her, at knowing the coremata have manifested from his desire — much like her horns sprout when she is overcome by him.

In the corner of her eye, she sees both of their reflections.

They may be distorted in the window, but there is no mistaking the coremata spreading out behind Pye, the black horns curving back along her temples.

Carefully, she brings one coremata to her cheek.

It is smooth against her skin, and she drags her lips against the tip until all of Pye’s extremities shiver.

Two other coremata wrap around her legs and begin to move her, pulling her in time with Pye’s rolling hips. “You are perfection,” he breathes. “Absolute perfection.”

His wings lift him off the chaise, and the coremata wrap under her to bring her to him.

It angles him down into her, and she whimpers as she bounces with every thrust. One coremata coils around her leg and twirls against her clit.

A former version of herself would think it was wrong, but there is only desire now, rocking her hips to keep the pace.

Her body is alive, mind trembling like a chandelier threatening to shatter on the floor.

Pye lowers them both onto the chaise and guides Avirin onto her back. “I want to be here when you fall apart.” His hips slot between her thighs. “I want to taste my name in your mouth. I want you to dig so far into me that we cannot be separated.”

His hips keep a steady rhythm, and pleasure threatens to splinter her. When their mouths drag together, she can’t stop herself. Her hunger takes control, and she inhales until blue smoke wafts between his lips.

He doesn’t resist, pouring into her until she’s drowning. She could drink from him forever, the distinct taste of pomegranate wine that no one could ever replicate, but a hand closes around her throat.

Her drinking turns into a moan, a helpless sound that makes Pye’s antennae twitch. “More,” she gasps, “please, I’m —”

He does not make her ask again. He keeps a firm grip under her jaw, and she sobs at the feeling. Everything he does is too much, too good, too right, and she doesn’t know how she has lived her life without him.

Pye doesn’t slow their pace, forehead pressing to hers. “Let it out,” they murmur, watching every flicker of her expression. “Let it all out, and I will give you everything.”

Each thrust steals her breath. Her pulse thrums in her ears, spiraling to a fever pitch, but Pye’s ravaged voice rises above all else.

“Everything you’ve asked for — everything you never knew you wanted — I will spend my life bringing to you.

” Desperation claws at their voice, but it is outdone by their body moving with hers.

“Let me give you everything I thought I would never be allowed. Let me love you as I have only dreamt about. Let me have all you.”

She breaks beneath them. Her nails leave tracks down his arms, her teeth digging into his shoulder as she spills his name over and over.

He finds her mouth and swallows every single one. “There you are.” He chases her sounds with soft kisses, holding her close while she shudders. “Beautiful Avirin. So perfect for me.”

Over time, her gasps dissolve into whimpers. Pye cradles the back of her neck, their lean body pressed to every inch of her. Their hips move only a fraction to help bring her down, but already, her desire stirs again.

“I will keep going,” Pye assures her, voice luscious and low against her jaw. “As you asked: until you beg.” He kisses her slowly and deep. “Until you’re through with me.”

Her head swims. She can hardly move, but she manages to hike her thigh over Pye’s hip, and he holds it closer. Her arms drape around the back of his neck, lazily tracing where his wings meet his body. “And if that day never comes?”

Pye’s wings flutter.

Nerves twist in Avirin’s chest, but she has restrained herself for far too long. Tonight, she knows exactly what she wants. Tonight, she puts voice to it. “If I want you in my bed every night?” Her nose brushes the bridge of Pye’s. “If I never tire of you?”

Pye’s smile captivates her. They brush the sweat-slick hair back from her forehead, caressing her horns as gently as they touch every other part of her.

“Then you shall have me.” He presses the curve of his lips to hers, branding each word between them in a solemn vow. “Eternally. Immutably. Insatiably.”
