Chapter 9 Oak
Oak
Ishould have known that she would put up a fight. That she would willingly throw herself in compromised territory without a single care for herself.
But I shouldn't have given into temptation. Because now that I have I fear that I won't be strong enough to resist her.
The feeling of her body under my hands was enough to give this sinner of a man a small taste of heaven. And her needy moans stirred my blood and made my cock ache. I've never reacted to a woman so strongly before.
Not even Lana. The only woman I ever loved.
I'm helplessly drawn to her.
As much as I pull away I can't fight the magnetism pull that brings me back to her.
"You have to have a graduation party here!" Alice says excitedly. Snake's arm is slung around her shoulder.
We are all sitting in the dining area of the club house that's only reserved for the members, their old ladies and special guests. Our two special guests today and every weekend being Grace and Connor.
Grace finishes taking a sip of her orange juice. Her plush lips around the glass rim. My mind immediately travels down dangerous territory. One where I imagine her mouth around my cock.
I grunt, shifting in my damn seat.
Of course it doesn't go unnoticed by Grace.
I've felt her eyes on me as soon as I entered the room. Burning into my skin creating an inferno.
And her eyes haven't left.
They make subtle glances every so often. I know because I'm helplessly doing the same.
This time, however, our eyes catch and in hers is a knowing. Keeping eye contact she teases me by swallowing hard and then licking those luscious lips afterwards.
It makes me wonder if she could swallow me like that.
I shift again in my seat. She smirks.
Fuck.
Knowing that she won this round she returns her attention to Alice. And honestly I'm relieved by the temporary reprieve.
"That's not necessary," Grace tells her. She then shrugs. "I mean who exactly would I invite?"
"You can always invite Sasha," Alice suggests with a genuine smile.
Grace shares the same smile back. "Okay, that's one person. Doesn't make much of a party."
Slater snorts at that. His cobalt blue eyes light with humor and play. "All you need is two people for a party. I'm even sure there's a song about it."
"And I'm sure that party led to other activities."
Slater smirks devishily. The very same smirk I've seen him use on countless of women before they agree to go to bed with him. "That's the point, darling. Care to explore those activities with me?"
Fucker.
I'd like to explore the idea of punching him in that perfect face. Maybe breaking his nose or throw an uppercut to that jaw of his. Roughen him up to ruin the perfect rocker boy image he has going on.
My hand fists on my lap underneath the table. I keep a stoic expression on my face but on the inside I'm seeing red. All because I'm imagining Slater taking that sweet body of hers when he has no right to.
I cut a glance over to her and see her rolling her eyes. She scoffs, "Those activities will never be explored."
I feel like I can breathe again. The raging inferno inside me dissipating with her words. From my peripheral vision I see her glance my way but I give nothing away.
Slater places a hand over his heart. "First Alice and now you. Both of you are doing a massive damage to my ego."
Haven scoffs, her blue grey eyes rolling to the back of her head. "Says the man who pulls more women than I have ever seen. Honestly your dick could use a break."
Slater's face turns smug as he leans back in his seat. "What can I say? The ladies love me."
"We are aware there is a kid at the table, yes?" Rosa brings attention to Connor who is sitting next to his sister which is directly across from me.
Haven actually looks apologetic as she winces. Slater slips further down in his seat like a boy trying to avoid being scolded.
Connor, however, simply shrugs, not bothered in the least. "So you're a player?" He asks Slater.
Slater eyes bounce from Grace and then to Connor and then to Rosa. I, however, can't believe the kid just blatantly asked that.
"I wouldn't say, player," Slater hums thoughtfully. "I'm a lover." Haven once again snorts and so does Snake.
Connor nods his head like he knows exactly what he means. "My sister told me that I should never become a player."
Slater cocks his head to the side, completely amused by the kid. "Why's that?"
Connor peaks over at Grace and she gives him an encouraging smile. "Because any man can be a player but it takes a better man to love and hold her throughout the years."
"You're raising a fine young man there, Grace," Sticks praises her and her cheeks flush. "You should be proud."
Connor's eyes go wide as he looks between his sister and Sticks. Then he puts a hand on her shoulder and asks, "You're not going to cry are you? Because I don't have the tissue box ready."
Her eyes mirror her brothers but her cheeks flush with embarrassment.
"What's this about a tissue box?" Alice asks and I know that Connor will no doubt give her an answer.
And he does. "She said she'll cry when I tell her how proud I am of her. So I told her I'll have a tissue box ready. I didn't know if that went for other people, too."
"That's very sweet of you, Con," Rosa tells him.
He just shrugs his shoulder and glances over to his sister. "It's the right thing to do."
The embarrassment she felt mere seconds ago leaves and it's replacement is pure love. I see it as clear as day on her face. How her smile is soft, her eyes light and that damn heart of hers on her sleeve beating proudly for everyone to see.
"Love you, champ.” Her voice is clogged with emotion.
He smiles up at her, the same soft smile. The same light in his eyes. "Love you, too."
She then ruffles his hair which causes Connor to squawk while trying to get away from her. But you can see how much the kid enjoys it. How the small act of affection affects him.
"I'm going to get ready," he tells her and then adds while trying to look at her pointedly, "and redo my hair."
"Okay, remember to wear something comfortable. And bring a jacket with you because it's still a little cool out this morning."
He rolls his eyes at her but there's a sweet smile on his face. "Okay, mom." Before she can get a word in back he's grabbing his empty plate and heading towards the kitchen in the back.
"He's really a sweet kid," Haven comments.
She then looks over to Dex who is currently holding baby Christine in his arms. From what Haven says the only way she calms down is in her father's arms. Which makes sense, she said, because he's the one who calms her, too. "Think our girl will be that sweet?"
Snake laughs and Alice slaps him lightly on the chest. "What?" He feigns innocence.
Alice looks at him pointedly. "You know what."
"Angel," he begins, "we all know that kid ain't going to be sweet."
"Fuck off," Haven bites at him but it's all in good fun.
He points at her. "That right there is why you aren't going to have a kid as sweet as Connor. Your girl's firsts words will be telling someone off."
"Probably because they deserve it."
"Or probably because she'll have an attitude like her mother," Dex chimes in but keeps his voice low to not stir Christine.
Haven turns to him with her brow raised and her arms folded over her chest. "And that attitude is?"
Dex smiles, a wolffish one that shows his teeth. "Spice with the right amount of sweet to keep you coming back." He then places an opened mouth kiss on her lips that effectively shuts her up. Then she does the thing that only Dex can do, he makes her melt. Complete and utter putty in his hands.
The moment breaks between them once their girl starts crying. Haven immediately takes her in her arms and coos softly. It's almost startling how soft and gentle she is with her compared to her abrasive attitude towards others.
But it's the maternal instinct. The one where you will do anything for your kid. The rest of the world simply doesn't matter.
I sneak a glance over at Grace and see her staring at Haven and her baby with a small smile.
At first glance no one would see it. But I do.
I do because I can't help but notice everything about her.
Her eyes are looking at them with longing and a pain so deep that she's managed to keep hidden from everyone.
As her eyes begin to grow misty she blinks away from them, taking a long breath that slightly shakes.
Pain.
The one thing that I can't live without.
The very same thing that I want to protect her from.
"Give me fifteen minutes, Grace and then whenever you and Connor are ready we can go," Slater says to her with a mouthful of pancakes.
Go?
Grace is going somewhere with Slater?
Where in the fuck is she going with him? And why him and not another club brother?
My finger twitches by my side.
I glance over at her and she smiles at him.
She. Smiles. At. Him.
Now I’m pissed the fuck off.
"Perfect, he was upset how we couldn't go last week."
"Well today is the perfect day. You'll both love it."
My finger twitches again. Okay, I've had enough.
"Where are you going?" I ask looking directly at her.
Her cheeks flush under my gaze but she meets me head on. The pain is gone now but as she continues to stare back at me I see a challenge.
"I'm taking them for a little hike, you know the one with the-"
I cut Slater off with a hard voice but don't break my stare with her. "Wasn't asking you, pretty boy.”
I hear Snake snicker and I swear to god if I glance over Haven is probably rolling her eyes.
Placing my elbows on the table I clasp my hands in front of me.
I notice her eyes dart to my biceps and then my forearms. Her cheeks flush more as she swipes her tongue barely across her bottom lip.
I take satisfaction in it. Last night it didn't escape my attention how she more than appreciated my body, including my arms.
She squirms in her seat and I raise a brow at her smirking.
I won this round and she fucking knows it.
