Chapter Six #2
Brogan lifted her hands, and Camber pressed the tool to the cuffs, and they split apart.
“Thank you,” Brogan said.
Camber put the cuffs in her bag. “It wasn’t personal. I’ve been chased all my life. When I was too small to look after myself, Tua monks took me from place to place, trying to keep me safe.”
“I understand. You were right to take precautions,” Brogan said.
Camber gave her a rare smile. “Let’s get you to the wolf world.” She then snapped her fingers and said, “Oh yes.” Camber brought out what looked like a kind of pen. “Can I give you the translator? In case we are separated at some point.”
“Yeah, sounds like a good idea.”
Camber came close to Brogan, and her scent hit harder than it had before. She closed her eyes and saw sweet dew on the grass, snowy pine needles, and beneath that, fire and ash around a burning hot bonfire.
Brogan’s eyes sprang open when she felt Camber’s warm fingers on her neck. Camber’s eyes were gazing straight into hers, soft, melting, liquid eyes that drew Brogan in and parted her lips.
Brogan half wished Camber was a wolf, so she could read her feelings. But no, she wouldn’t change a hair on Camber’s head. She was perfect as she was.
Camber pulled back an inch or so and shook her head. She cleared her throat and put the slim device into Brogan’s ear canal. “You should only feel a mild sting.”
Brogan felt virtually nothing, apart from the heat in her cheeks and neck and the heavy beating of her heart.
“Okay, the mines are east of this door, and the ship hangar is north. The further we head towards the hangar, the less strong the fumes will be. Do you think you can make it till there?”
Brogan nodded. “I can do it. Whatever it takes. How are we going to make it without anyone seeing us? I don’t know if I can follow my nose with these fumes.”
Before she could protest, Camber snapped the cuffs back on her wrists.
“What? Why? I thought you trusted me.” Brogan was confused and angry and hurt, and through it all, she felt a pang of desire for Camber.
“I’ll tell you why later, I’ll explain everything later, but just for now I need you to promise to follow my lead. I need to make sure your wolf doesn’t decide to take over. I can’t risk anything like you did out there, scooping me up and rescuing me.”
“I’ll try my best,” Brogan said sarcastically.
Camber gave her a soft hit to her stomach. “Try to give me your super best.”
Brogan’s stomach tensed with want and her lip curled into a snarl.
Luckily, Camber didn’t notice.
The more Ninti touched Kartog, the deeper the pink of her body became. Ninti loved to see her that way, feeling every touch she gave her.
Kartog straddled Ninti and rested her back against Ninti’s thighs.
Ninti’s fingers had the light of her power emanating from them, and she was painting Kartog with her heat and light from her neck down.
“Touch me everywhere, my Goddess,” Kartog said.
Ninti loved hearing her lover’s words. Unlike everyone else who called her a god, Kartog said it as a term of endearment, because she loved her.
No one knew Ninti better, and no one else cared as much as Kartog, not because she feared her like everyone else they encountered.
Kartog knew her secrets, and Ninti trusted and adored her with everything she had.
Ninti dragged her fingertips to her chest, and the golden light ignited every nerve a thousandfold.
Kartog looked to the ceiling and groaned as Ninti stroked down her sternum and around her breasts. Kartog rocked her hips, desperate for some relief from her aching clit.
Ninti grasped one breast and used her thumb to stroke around Kartog’s nipple, while scratching her nails down to her sex.
“Tell me what you want, Kartog. I will give you anything, my warrior.”
Kartog looked down at her with a fiery pink hue to her skin. Ninti had her.
“I want you, Goddess.”
Kartog pushed one of Ninti’s hands down her stomach to her sex.
Ninti cupped Kartog’s sex for a moment or two, to allow her to get used to the intensity.
Ninti could control the amount of stimulation up or down, like a dial.
She could have made her lover come a long time ago, but she knew Kartog liked to savour every moment of love between them.
“More, my love?”
“Yes,” Kartog groaned.
She slipped her fingers into her wet, hot sex. Kartog groaned. “Yes, my Goddess.”
Ninti rubbed her fingers around the edge of her clit and her entrance. “Feel me, my warrior.”
“I feel you everywhere.”
It was time. Ninti dialled up the intensity of her power and pushed her fingers deeply inside her lover. Kartog gasped and ground her hips, rising and falling on Ninti’s fingers.
Just as Kartog’s breathing was changing from breaths to gasps, she fell into Ninti and met her lips with passion.
The golden light spread from Ninti’s lips to Kartog’s, and the light then enveloped them and sent them both off the precipice and into absolute pleasure and love.
They lay in each other’s arms. Kartog placed her hand on Ninti’s chest.
“How can I leave you, Goddess?”
Ninti took Kartog’s hand and kissed it. “Because I need you to be my eyes and ears. I cannot leave without suspicion just now, and I need you to be my warrior.”
Kartog raised herself up and leaned on her arm. “Do you believe the intelligence?”
“I don’t know. But if she does have a wolf with her, then we have a big problem.”
“Surely you would know if Davor had sent another lone wolf after the Map Keeper,” Kartog said.
“He can be secretive. There’s nothing Davor would like more than to suddenly present the Map Keeper to the council of twelve.”
“If he did find her…” Kartog’s words trailed off.
“Then my people would be unstoppable. Power to manipulate time, open up every inch of the multiverse and beyond. It doesn’t bear thinking about. It would eclipse anything Abnobians have ever done, from the times we were destroying planets, to the great rebellion and more,” Ninti said.
“What if the wolf has no bad intentions?”
“That is for you to find out, my warrior,” Ninti said. “If I could only get hold of my contacts at the heart of the resistance. But Davor has soldiers everywhere.”
“Do you think the portal guardians know what is going on?”
Ninti sighed. “Greydon from communications says no. They’ve been monitoring audio.”
Kartog kissed her nose. “You just keep being the epitome of an Abnobian Goddess and leave everything to me.”
“Thank you, Warrior.”
