“Yes,” the man replies calmly.

He doesn’t look at them.

He’s watching the screens.

Watching the narrative take hold.

“And the system?” the voice asks.

A faint smile touches his mouth.

“Visible.”

Not compromised.

Not broken.

Visible.

“And the SEAL?”

This time, he leans back.

Considering.

“He’ll fight,” he says.

A pause.

“That’s expected.”

He taps the screen once, watching as legal documents begin to populate beneath the media storm.

Warrants.

Jurisdictional overlays.

International cooperation flags.

Layered.

Clean.

Unavoidable.

“Let’s see,” he says softly, “how effective he is when the law is on our side.”
