Chapter 790 The Thunder God’s Wrath

“All right. I’m willing to enter your Inner Cosmos.”

Kael spoke slowly.

“That’s more like it.”

A trace of satisfaction entered the Dean’s voice as he gradually lowered his raised finger.

Then everything changed.

“No!”

The Dean abruptly thrust a finger toward Kael.

Boom!

Kael’s body exploded into fragments.

“A fake?” Valerius stared in disbelief. “He used a substitution puppet?”

His enormous Spiritual Sense swept outward.

It didn’t take long for him to find Kael.

Far beyond the formation, Kael’s figure flickered in and out of existence as he raced toward the nearest planet equipped with a teleportation array.

“How did he escape the Dragon-Sigil Shield Formation?”

Valerius turned toward the Dean.

“There’s no other choice.”

The Dean raised one hand and pointed toward the Thunder God Talismans overhead.

Boom!

The genuine Thunder God Talisman at the center erupted in golden flames.

Far away, Kael suddenly felt his entire body become unbearably heavy.

His limbs stiffened.

Damn it! He actually activated the Thunder God Talisman?

Kael snapped his head up.

Golden points of light appeared without warning against the blackness of space.

They expanded violently.

In an instant, they transformed into countless bolts of golden lightning.

Thousands of golden rays and tens of thousands of divine thunderbolts seemed to teleport directly above Kael before crashing down.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Kael endured the first dozen bolts with his physical body alone.

But even more divine lightning appeared around him an instant later.

The thunder seemed almost alive.

Golden bolts circled Kael at terrifying speed, surrounding him from every direction.

“ROAR!”

Kael clenched both fists and unleashed a roar that shook the surrounding space.

A colossal Fiendgod with two heads and four arms rose around him.

Twenty golden dragons spiraled wildly around its body.

At the same time, palm-sized golden scales spread across every inch of the Fiendgod.

Even that wasn’t enough to reassure Kael.

He immediately released his Spacetime Domain as well.

The divine lightning passed through the Spacetime Domain as though it didn’t exist and struck Kael’s true body directly.

“What?”

“Even the Spacetime Domain can’t stop it?”

Kael immediately curled his enormous body inward.

BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...

Explosions rolled endlessly through space.

Golden radiance pierced the void for dozens of light-years, sweeping and twisting through the surrounding darkness.

Several planets caught within the expanding waves of light were instantly reduced to ash.

Even innocent Starbeasts wandering through nearby space were obliterated the moment the golden beams swept across them.

The power of the Thunder God Talisman continued without pause.

It seemed endless.

Kael curled into a tight defensive posture beneath layers of protective aura, his jaw locked against the agony.

“AAAAAAAH!”

His screams tore through the thunder and carried across tens of thousands of miles.

No one knew how long the bombardment lasted.

At last, the final bolt of golden lightning faded.

A single battered figure remained suspended in the void.

The twenty golden dragons surrounding Kael’s Fiendgod form had been annihilated during the first wave.

Every golden scale covering the manifestation had been blasted apart, exposing raw crimson flesh beneath.

Even the curved horns on both heads had shattered.

Buzz!

Kael’s enormous body rapidly contracted.

Within moments, he canceled the Fiendgod Transformation and returned to human size.

Both of his legs were gone.

Kael opened his mouth.

Six or seven drops of Immortal Spirit Liquid shot inside.

Threads of blood and flesh immediately began weaving together beneath his waist.

Two new legs rapidly regenerated.

Kael had barely begun to relax when countless golden points appeared once more in the surrounding darkness.

“There’s more?”

Alarm surged through him.

Drawing upon the restorative power of the Immortal Spirit Liquid, Kael immediately transformed into his strongest state again.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Another prolonged torment began.

This time, Kael felt as though even his soul were being torn apart by the lightning.

He could have retreated into his Inner Cosmos and reduced the force of the Thunder God Talisman.

But nearly one trillion humans were living inside it.

The Thunder God Talisman would follow him inside.

If that happened, everyone within his Inner Cosmos would be annihilated.

So Kael remained outside and endured the bombardment with his own body.

Nearly fifteen minutes later, the lightning finally battered him back into his human form.

His Origin Power had been completely exhausted.

His physical condition was even worse.

There was barely an intact patch of flesh left anywhere on his body.

Kael hesitated for only a moment before pulling out his jade bottle and tipping it into his mouth.

More than twenty drops of Immortal Spirit Liquid poured down his throat.

“ARGH!”

Violent energy erupted through his meridians.

The sheer force of it rampaged through his body so brutally that Kael nearly blacked out from the pain.

“I truly didn’t expect your physical body to be this powerful. Even a Thunder God Talisman failed to kill you.”

The Dean of Sunlance Academy’s voice suddenly reached him.

Kael fought through the agony and immediately resumed fleeing.

Eight figures followed close behind.

The Dean, Valerius, and the other Eternal Realm cultivators had no intention of letting him escape.

Kael shot forward like an arrow.

At last, he broke through the boundary of Sunlance Academy’s spiritual-energy region and entered an area where the spiritual energy was far thinner.

The Immortal Spirit Liquid still sent painful spasms through his limbs, but his Origin Power had already returned to its peak.

His physical injuries were also slowly healing.

Buzz!

The eight Eternal Realm cultivators abruptly stopped at the edge of the spiritually rich region.

None of them dared take another step.

Valerius glanced down at his wrist.

More than a dozen new patches of stone had appeared there, nearly covering the entire joint.

The others were clearly suffering similar effects.

“Kael, are you truly determined to reject every offer until we force you into submission?”

The Dean’s furious voice rolled across the void.

“I already told you my terms.”

Kael fought to speak through the pain.

“Provide me with one hundred sets of ingredients, and I’ll give you one drop of Lesser Immortal Spirit Liquid.”

The Immortal Spirit Liquid Kael had refined had originally been just enough to sustain him until he broke through the Galactic Realm.

But the recent battle had consumed far more than he had expected.

His supply was becoming dangerously low.

“Do you truly believe I’m incapable of leaving the central region of the Sunlance Galaxy to hunt you down?”

The black mist covering the Dean’s face churned violently.

“What would you gain from that?” Kael asked between increasingly labored breaths. “If you insist on chasing me, your petrification will only accelerate. Even if you catch me, how much will it cost you?”

Kael understood his situation perfectly.

His Origin Power might have recovered.

His body might be healing.

But against so many Eternal Realm cultivators at once, he still had almost no chance of escaping if they truly pursued him.

At that moment, Valerius suddenly crossed the boundary of Sunlance Academy’s spiritual-energy region.

He reached toward Kael with one hand.

Kael immediately reached back.

Smack!

Their hands locked together.

Valerius’s palm was covered in hard patches of petrified flesh.

The texture was revolting.

Kael tightened his grip.

Crack!

Valerius grunted.

The stone patches covering his palm shattered.

Thick fluid burst from beneath them and splattered across Kael’s body.

Valerius pulled backward with all his strength.

Kael braced himself and resisted, but a tearing pain instantly ripped through his entire body.

The Thunder God Talisman had damaged his flesh far more severely than he had realized.

The two began a brutal contest of strength, each attempting to drag the other across the boundary.

“I’ll be leaving now.”

White light flared around Kael’s right hand.

He activated his Radiant Spirit Root and purified the power Valerius had wrapped around him.

Then his figure flickered several times before shooting toward deep space.

“You think you can run?”

Valerius immediately gave chase.

Behind them, the Dean and the other Eternal Realm cultivators hesitated.

In the end, none of them dared leave the spiritually rich region.

Kael and Valerius tore through space at incredible speed.

Asteroids flashed past on both sides.

Kael was pushing himself so hard that he occasionally smashed straight through one rather than waste time flying around it.

“Valerius.”

Kael’s voice remained surprisingly calm.

“You might want to look at your arms.”

“My arms?”

Valerius glanced down in the middle of the pursuit.

Both arms were now completely covered in hideous patches of stone.

Not a trace of normal skin remained.

Kael seized the opening.

His speed suddenly surged.

Within moments, he pulled far ahead and vanished completely beyond the range of Valerius’s Spiritual Sense.
