Chapter 811 A New Order in Northguard
“Kael, I will no longer imprison you!” Malachar shouted. “From this day forward, Northguard City is willing to befriend humanity!”
Kael showed no reaction. He flicked a finger, sending another drop of Immortal Spirit Liquid into his mouth.
Against a late-stage Eternal Realm expert like Malachar, Kael had to pour half his Origin Power into the Time Mirror with every attack. The other half went into his spirit sword.
That meant every attack cost him one drop of Immortal Spirit Liquid.
“Bastard!”
Malachar cursed as the two halves of his body exploded simultaneously. They transformed into countless black shadows that fled in every direction.
Unfortunately for him, the Time Mirror immediately froze one of those shadows.
This time, Kael didn’t use his spirit sword.
He summoned Astral Mountain instead.
The divine mountain came crashing down.
Malachar’s body was crushed into a cloud of black energy that scattered through the void.
With that, the supreme expert who had ruled the Northguard Galaxy for hundreds of thousands of years was annihilated in both body and soul.
Still transformed by Stage Twenty of the Fiendgod Transformation, Kael stood in the void and swept a menacing gaze across the cultivators watching from afar.
“Anyone else?”
His voice thundered through space.
The cultivators of the myriad races lowered their heads. Some turned aside to avoid his gaze.
Only the remaining Eternal Realm experts of the Shadow Race continued staring at Kael, their bodies trembling with shock and terror.
“Is there anyone else?”
Kael’s voice rang out again, spreading across thousands of miles.
Even the Eternal Realm Shadow cultivators lowered their heads or looked away. None dared meet Kael’s gaze.
Inside Bloodstock City, the humans were stunned into silence.
They had thought Kael might, at most, defeat the Lord of Northguard City. None of them had imagined that the renowned Malachar Tuo would be killed within moments.
The Shadow cultivators on the city walls stood frozen, unable to believe what they had witnessed.
Many of them had heard Malachar’s legend from the moment they entered the cultivation world.
Malachar Tuo had reached Core Formation at twenty, the Planetary Realm at one thousand, the Eternal Realm at one hundred thousand, and the late Eternal Realm at one hundred and fifty thousand.
That peerless prodigy—a figure who had always seemed more legend than man—had now died before their eyes.
And he had been killed by a member of the race they considered the lowest of all.
...
“Good. Since no one else intends to step forward, I have something to say.”
Kael’s body rapidly returned to its normal size.
He looked toward an Eternal Tier 4 Shadow cultivator.
“You. Come here.”
The command in Kael’s voice was unmistakable.
“Why... Why do you want me to come over?”
The mighty Eternal Realm cultivator sounded close to tears, though even he probably couldn’t have said whom he was mourning.
“Relax. As long as you have no intention of resisting, I won’t kill you. Now come here.”
Kael’s tone left no room for refusal.
The Shadow cultivator hesitated before flying over. He stopped in front of Kael, his lips pressed tightly together.
“From this day forward, the Shadow Race will relocate to Bloodstock City. Every human living there will move into the Firmament City.”
“What?”
The Shadow cultivator’s head snapped up.
The moment he met Kael’s cold gaze, however, he hurriedly looked away.
“Refuse, and I will wipe out the Shadow Race’s entire upper echelon today.”
“I would not dare disobey.”
The Shadow cultivator finally lowered his proud head.
Kael turned toward an Eternal Tier 2 cultivator.
“You are the Patriarch of the Winged Serpent Race, correct?”
“That is correct.”
“From this day forward, I want the Winged Serpent Race to protect every human in the Northguard Galaxy. Your race will also govern the entire galaxy. What do you think?”
“Me?”
The Winged Serpent Patriarch instinctively looked toward the Eternal Realm Shadow cultivator.
After living under Shadow rule for so many years, he had grown accustomed to gauging their reactions before making any decision.
“Don’t look at him. Tell me—do you want to become the Lord of Northguard City?”
The Winged Serpent Patriarch drew a deep breath.
“Yes!”
For once, he forced himself to answer without hesitation.
“Good. From today onward, you are the Lord of Northguard City. The Winged Serpent Race and humanity will jointly occupy the Firmament City, while every member of the Shadow Race will relocate to Bloodstock City.
“As for the other races of the Northguard Galaxy, all of them will answer to humanity and the Winged Serpent Race.”
Kael directed those final words toward the surrounding cultivators.
“Yes!”
“Lord Lin, my race fully supports your decree.”
“We are willing to obey!”
The leaders of the middle- and lower-ranked races stepped forward one after another to voice their support.
The races that had prospered under Northguard City’s rule had always been opportunists. Now that even Malachar was dead, they immediately followed the shifting tide. None of them had any intention of avenging him.
“Very good. Return to your planets and proclaim my decree. Everyone in the Northguard Galaxy is to know that humanity and the Winged Serpent Race now rule this galaxy. From now on, every race will deliver its tribute to humanity first, and humanity will decide how those resources are distributed.”
Although Kael was separated from those leaders by hundreds of miles, his voice reached each of them with perfect clarity.
“As you command!”
The leaders surrounding the battlefield departed one after another, returning to their territories to spread Kael’s decree.
Satisfied, Kael turned toward the Winged Serpent Patriarch and the Eternal Realm Shadow cultivator.
“We’re going to Bloodstock City.”
The three figures shot into the distance.
Several days later, Kael arrived above Bloodstock City.
“All hail Lord Lin!”
“Congratulations on defeating such a powerful enemy, Lord Lin!”
“Humanity is blessed to have Lord Lin protecting us!”
The humans throughout Bloodstock City dropped to their knees and prostrated themselves before Kael.
The Shadow cultivators stationed along the city walls stood stiffly with their hands at their sides, unable to hide their unease.
“Why aren’t you kneeling before Lord Lin?” Lucan demanded.
Only Lucan and two other Eternal Realm experts remained among the Shadow Race’s highest authorities. If they failed to accommodate Kael now, their entire race might face annihilation.
The Shadow cultivators along the walls knelt one after another.
Some wept with humiliation.
What had happened?
The Shadow Race had spent countless eras clawing its way to its current position. How had humanity risen above them overnight?
Kael descended into Bloodstock City.
Kneeling Shadow cultivators surrounded him on every side.
“My fellow humans, you may rise.”
He slowly raised one hand.
The humans stood and gazed at him with shining eyes.
“Your name is Lucan, correct? Take my people to the Firmament City. At the same time, evacuate every Shadow cultivator living there. Remember this clearly: they are not to remove so much as a spirit stone from the city. If I discover that anyone has secretly taken a treasure, I will hold you responsible.”
Kael looked directly at Lucan, the Eternal Realm Shadow cultivator.
“Understood.”
Lucan immediately began carrying out Kael’s decree.
Just then, Kael noticed a graceful figure hovering in the distance.
She stared at him blankly, her face completely devoid of emotion.
A trace of discomfort entered Kael’s expression. He looked away and continued supervising the Shadow cultivators.
“Move faster!” the Winged Serpent Patriarch shouted at those who were too slow. “From today onward, the Winged Serpent Race and humanity will govern the Northguard Galaxy together. Your Shadow Race will handle the dirtiest and most exhausting work.”
After countless years beneath the Shadow Race’s rule, the Winged Serpent Patriarch could finally hold his head high. With Kael standing beside him, he openly berated the Shadow cultivators without the slightest restraint.
