Chapter 835 The Nighthawk Tribunal #2
The Nighthawks who had surrendered remained on the ground and were left unharmed. Those who continued fighting, however, were shown no mercy.
An hour later, the battle finally ended.
Kael fired one final beam of Myriad Spirit Light at a fleeing Great Ascension Realm Nighthawk who had slaughtered dozens of humans during his escape.
The cultivator hurriedly summoned his strongest defensive artifact, but the difference in their strength was far too great.
The Myriad Spirit Light sliced through the shield, cut the Nighthawk’s body in half, and continued into the depths of space.
High above the planet, something translucent blocked the beam with surprising ease.
“Hm?”
Kael’s attention snapped upward as blue light pulsed within both eyes.
“So the Machine Race has been following me this entire time. Get down here!”
He shot into the sky and flew straight toward the translucent vessel.
The craft flickered several times before vanishing into the void.
Millions of miles away, the vessel reappeared.
Two Stellar Realm members of the Machine Race sat inside.
“We were careless. We never should have followed Kael so closely.”
“We need to report this immediately. Kael executed the Nighthawk leadership and defeated millions of cultivators who resisted his tribunal. The humans throughout the surrounding galaxies will undoubtedly begin supporting him.”
“Agreed. Let’s go.”
The vessel flickered several times before disappearing into space.
...
Kael descended to the ground and surveyed the battlefield.
The humans had already begun gathering the weapons and spatial artifacts left behind by the dead.
Kael checked his Eternal Points again.
[Eternal Points: 200.321]
Executing the convicted high-ranking Nighthawks had earned him more than a hundred Eternal Points.
Killing the millions of armed mid-ranking cultivators who had refused to surrender had yielded fewer than another hundred.
High-ranking cultivators clearly provided far more Eternal Points, but Kael had no intention of killing powerful people merely because doing so was efficient.
“Rook, Dexter, enter my Inner Cosmos. We’re leaving for our next destination.”
“What? I was only getting started.”
Rook still held his flying sword.
Thanks to the enormous quantity of resources Kael had provided, both Rook and Dexter were approaching the Great Ascension Realm. They were already powerful enough to travel freely through space.
“Enough nonsense. Hurry up.”
“Fine.”
Kael drew his usual companions into his Inner Cosmos.
“The rest of you should remain on the Nighthawk homeworld. I doubt any other race will come here to oppress you in the near future.”
Without looking back, Kael flew toward the distant teleportation array.
...
Countless light-years away, on the human homeworld, Tanya opened her eyes inside the Star River Sect on the Heavenfall Continent.
Her face was drained of color.
Several ancient copper coins lay before her.
“Tanya, what did you see?”
Aria clasped her daughter’s hand and found it ice-cold.
“Mother, I saw galaxies turning in on themselves. The heavens collapsed, worlds split apart, and countless cultivators were trapped inside cages. They threw themselves against the bars, but there was nowhere for them to escape.”
Tanya’s voice trembled as she spoke.
“Are you sure it was real?” Aria asked. “Could it have been something you imagined?”
“That’s impossible, First Madam. The young lady possesses an extraordinary talent for divination.”
The speaker was an elderly woman with disheveled hair.
She had once belonged to the Astral Pavilion and had discovered by chance that Tanya possessed the gift of prophecy.
“How can you prove that Tanya truly has such a talent?”
Aria still found the claim difficult to believe.
Neither she nor Kael had ever practiced divination. How could their daughter have been born with such an ability?
“If you remain unconvinced, choose anyone you wish and have the young lady perform a divination for them.”
The old woman spoke with complete confidence.
“Can her divinations truly be that accurate?”
“First Madam, the young lady possesses the strongest form of divination talent. Ordinary diviners can perceive only one aspect of time. Some can examine the past, others the present, and a rare few can glimpse the future.
“Lady Tanya can perceive all three—the past, the present, and the future—as a single whole. The Astral Pavilion calls this gift the Oracle Sacred Body.”
The elderly woman’s tone was solemn.
“Very well. I’ll test it myself.” Aria turned to her daughter. “Tanya, determine when I first met your father and what important event occurred at the time.”
“Do you really want me to look, Mother?” Tanya asked awkwardly. “What if I see something... private?”
Aria fell silent.
“Just do it,” she said after drawing a slow breath.
“All right. Please toss these three copper coins onto the ground.”
Aria shook the coins in her hand and cast them onto the stone floor.
Tanya slowly closed her eyes.
Time passed.
“I hear hammering... A smithy. A shirtless young man is forging a sword.
“Then a young woman descends outside the smithy on a flying sword. Mother, I never realized how spirited you were when you were young.”
...
“Two of Overseer Wang’s relatives tried to assault you. Father actually came to your rescue, though you didn’t seem particularly grateful.”
...
“The Phoenix Reach Spirit Mine...” Heat rushed into Tanya’s cheeks. “Mother, I can’t look any further.”
She opened her eyes, thoroughly embarrassed.
She had clearly witnessed something she should not have seen.
“My daughter truly is a genius.”
Aria pulled Tanya into a gentle embrace.
“Why don’t you divine my future as well?”
She tossed the copper coins onto the stone floor again.
“Mother, looking into the future is extremely taxing. I don’t have enough mental strength left.”
“Then forget it. You can do it another time. Go back and get some rest.”
...
Far away, outside Bloodstock City in the Northguard Galaxy, Kael regarded the densely packed ranks of Shadow leaders without emotion.
“Kael, you’ve already killed almost all the senior experts of the Shadow Race,” Lucan said angrily. “Have you really come back to settle old scores with the rest of us?”
With most of the Shadow Race’s upper echelon dead, Lucan was now the strongest expert they had left.
“The senior members of the Shadow Race were certainly guilty, but the lower-ranking accomplices who carried out their orders are no less deserving of punishment. My principle is simple: I will not spare the guilty, but neither will I condemn the innocent.
“Are there any humans native to Northguard City willing to step forward and testify against these Shadow leaders?”
Kael’s gaze swept across the vast crowd of human cultivators below.
