Chapter 34
Rory heard the door open shortly before midnight, and moments later, the living room light flicked on. Some of the alcohol had left her system, and the room no longer spun.
She yanked the blanket over her head with a groan. “Turn it off.”
Sam chuckled softly as the sound of his footsteps grew closer. She lowered the blanket and tried to kill him with her eyes. “Why are you always loud?”
Sera stirred in the chair, but Keith and Kordie were unphased in their drunken slumber.
“You are loud,” Sera agreed, shielding her eyes. “Turn off the light.”
“We will talk in the morning,” he told Rory before switching the light off.
Rory grumbled and turned over, slipping back into a deep sleep.
