Chapter 18
Chapter eighteen
I hold her close to me and watch as she starts to drift in and out of sleep.
I’ve worn her out. Good. When I asked her if she wanted to go for a ride, I didn’t have any intentions of burying my face into her pussy–or fucking her with her own gun–but goddamn.
She looked at me like a deer in headlights when I asked what she was hiding, and my plans changed.
She tried her hardest to show she wasn’t fazed by the question, but her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed, giving her away.
Yes, I already know she has a secret or two.
I'm not asking if she does, I want to know what they are. I would have preferred she told me herself to cut out the irritation and time it’s going to take to figure it out on my own, but I’m up for the challenge.
Her eyes close and stay that way for a minute, then I pick up her gun off of the ground next to me and start doing my best to clean it with my shirt.
It will need a thorough cleaning when she gets home, but for now the least I can do is wipe it off as best I can before I gently slip it back into the back of her jeans where she keeps it. I look down at the gun and smirk.
She was willing to deny herself an orgasm to keep whatever it is a secret.
I pushed her to the edge over and over, and each time she bit her lip harder and shook her head.
When I looked up and saw her bite down, so hard I thought she was going to bite through her lip–tears spilling over her cheeks–I finally realized how determined she is to keep it a secret.
I decided I would take the more difficult and time consuming approach to get the answers I want.
I don’t want to force her to talk about something she isn’t ready to, and I’m beginning to assume it’s serious.
The look of relief on her face when she exploded in my mouth was the most erotic and beautiful thing I have ever seen.
I wanted to shove my cock deep inside that perfect pussy of hers and spill myself inside her; solidify the fact that she’s mine.
She tasted like honey, and I wanted, no needed, to savor every last drop.
Nick, whoever that is, is probably the key to all the answers I want. But there was no address on the envelope and she said she wasn't going to send it. She also mentioned Ashlynn, who I know she works with. I have a feeling I know how I can try to get something from that source.
She shifts beside me and I look down to see her lashes flutter over her cheeks before her sleepy gaze shifts up to mine. A shy smile tugs at her lips and she moves to sit up right. Reaching her arms in front of her to stretch, she pulls her knees up then wraps her arms around them.
“Was that part of your plan?” She questions and peers over her shoulder at me. “Get me out in the middle of nowhere to seduce me?” I smirk.
“I didn’t have a plan, other than to get out here for a bit.” I jut my chin in the direction of the river.
“And to pry. What makes you think I have secrets?”
“Let’s just call it a hunch. I know how to read people pretty well.” I say and reach out to push some hair behind her left ear. Her cheeks flush and her body shivers slightly when my fingers graze her face.
“What are you, some FBI profiler or something?” She asks and the question makes me laugh.
“No. I own a private security company. Think bodyguards for high-profile clients like lawyers, judges and politicians. Knowing how to read people comes with the territory.” I explain. She nods her head as if to understand.
“And bouncers?” She asks. I grin.
“No, Cole would be the first. Like I said, your boss had reached out wanting to find someone for the bar, and Cole just happened to piss me and Karson off. So it worked out.” I watch for her reaction.
Am I going to tell her that I called James pretending to be a concerned patron then gave him my work number? Nope.
“Who is Karson? The one who came in with you that first night?” She’s quite the interrogator. I nod.
“We own the company together. He’s been my best friend since we were kids.
” I offer. Parker leans back on her hands and continues to stare out over the river.
She seems relaxed and other than the time I followed her around town, this is the first time I’ve noticed it.
Her long dark hair flows in the wind and she shivers.
The sun is now past its peak and the spot where we sit is now mostly shade.
“Come on, let’s head back.” I stand and offer her my hand to help her up.
When she’s on her feet I give her a gentle tug into me.
My favorite. Wide amber eyes look up at me through long, dark lashes, and I picture her giving me that same look from a different position.
On her knees, hands behind her back and her lips wrapped around my cock.
In time. My dick hardens and she notices.
She gulps and a blush rages across her chest and neck.
It’s so fucking beautiful. I want to make it redder.
I brush myself against her slightly and sure enough, that does it.
Bright red covers her face and she tries to avert her gaze.
Cupping her cheek with my right hand I direct her gaze back to me.
I will break this nasty habit
“You’re beautiful when you’re embarrassed.” I whisper and run my hands down the sides of her neck.
“I hate that I feel that way.” She responds. I shake my head.
“I’ll fix that. One day you won’t feel anything but pride when you see what it is you do to me. I’m not easily affected by anything. That was until I saw you.” Bright red flames even brighter and I take her hand. “Let’s get back.”
The ride back to her house, Parker is much more relaxed than she was before. She doesn’t hesitate to wrap her arms around me and mold herself into me with ease. We listen to music again instead of talking; I’d rather do that face to face. I like being able to see the effect I have on her.
I pull back into her driveway and park next to her Jeep. After killing the engine, I remove my helmet and step off the bike. I help Parker off the back and she removes her helmet before speaking.
“Thank you for today. For showing me something new. It was beautiful.” She says as she tries to hand me back her helmet. I shake my head and smirk.
“Don’t thank me. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.” I say and she blushes again. “I got the helmet for you. Keep it with you for next time.”
“Next time?” She asks in a confused tone and her lips part.
“I don’t know what you were thinking Parker, but I am nowhere near finished with you.” Stepping forward, I reach out and rub my thumb across her bottom lip. “I can’t get enough of you.” Her body shivers with that statement and she gulps.
“We just met.” She says in a whisper. It’s a half assed attempt at protesting what we both know and feel. She’s mine. End of story.
“I don’t give a fuck.” I declare and her eyes meet mine. I truly don’t. The moment I laid eyes on her I knew I had to have her. The moment we locked eyes a few days later I saw how she reacted. She feels the same pull I do. She captures her bottom lip between her teeth and nods.
“You sound a little crazy, you know that?” Parker says and tries her best to suppress a smile.
“Maybe I am. But I’m not going to waste any time denying the fact that I want you.” She blows out a breath and searches my eyes. No doubt looking for a hint of deception. News flash, Sweetheart. You won’t find it.
After a long minute, I see the moment she realizes that I’m not full of shit. Her shoulders lower and I can feel the tension leave her body. She closes her eyes and inhales. On her exhale, she opens them again and they’re softer now when she looks back at me. She gives me a shy nod and smiles.
“Okay.” She says with confidence. It isn’t much, but it lets me know she believes me. That she understands I’m not going to stop. As I said before, I’m not a patient man.
“I’m going to go in and get ready for tonight.” She says jutting her thumb to her front door. “Do you want to come in?” She asks and I shake my head.
“I’ve got a few things I need to take care of. What are you up to tonight anyway? Any pissed off boyfriends I should know about?” I tease. I know now she doesn’t have one. She smiles.
“No boyfriend. I’m having dinner with a friend of my parents tonight.” She laughs. I nod in understanding. Parker seems like a creature of habit. If I had to guess, it’s the same woman she went to see on her last day off.
“Well, I hope you have a good dinner. I’ll see you soon.” I state, pulling my helmet back on then sit back on my bike. I start it up and Parker takes a step back. I tip my head at her and turn the bike around in the driveway. She stands rooted in place watching me leave and I exit the driveway.
Tourniquet by Breaking Benjamin blasts through the speakers of my helmet as I turn into a quiet neighborhood about fifteen minutes from Parker’s house.
The sun is beginning to set as kids run up and down the sidewalks and play basketball in their driveways.
I downshift my bike and turn onto the street of the house Parker stopped at the day I followed her.
There’s a woman who's on her knees in front of a garden.
She leans back on her heels and wipes a gloved hand across her forehead then glances at her watch.
As I approach, she stands and starts walking up the front steps to her home and enters.
Coming to a stop sign, I reach for my phone that’s mounted on the handlebars. I tap the screen a few times and the music pauses as the line begins to ring on the other end.
“Hey, boss.” Slater answers on the third ring.
“I need you to run an address for me.” I respond.
“Anything in particular you’re wanting?” He asks and I hear him tap on his keyboard. Slater is a lot like me. Straight to the point; he doesn’t like to sit around and bullshit.
“As much as you can find. Homeowner, background, the works.” I say as I pull back out onto the main road. He asks for the address and I recite it to him.
“Got it. It might take some time to get everything you’re looking for. I’m in the process of vetting a new client.” He states.
“Take your time. If you have a name, I can see what I can dig up on my own as well.”
“One sec.” He mumbles and the taps on his keyboard continue. Approaching a stop light, I place my feet on the ground and sit up before his voice breaks through again.
“Hazel Kelly.” Slater states and I sit up straighter. I recognize that name.
“Thanks man. Let me know when you’ve got everything. I owe you one.” I say as the light turns green and I launch forward.
“No problem.” He hangs up.
I speed off in the direction of my house. Though it might take some time, this might not be as difficult as I originally thought.
I told you Parker, I’ll get what I want.
