Chapter 36
Soft kisses were placed on the back of my neck as Remy's hand slid around my waist. With my eyes still closed I smiled softly. "What are you doing, baby?" I moaned gently as he licked softly on my neck.
"Enjoying the feel of having you in my bed in the morning," he murmured in my ear kissing my lobe.
Remy's hand traveled lower until he was at the meeting of my closed thighs. He pushed his hand through, and I offered no resistance as my legs fluttered open to receive him. Remy's fingers parted my lips, and he slowly began to circle my clit with his index.
"Baeeee…" I exhaled with a moan.
He groaned softly against my ear, his hardness pressed against my butt. "You must've been dreaming about me, beautiful." His lips brushed against my ear sending shivers down my spine. "This pussy already so wet for me."
"I'm always dreaming about you," I mumbled, my hand locking onto his wrist.
"Oh yeah—" his tongue dipped into my ear. "Every night?" He dipped his finger into me, his thumb playing with my clit in a soft side-to-side motion.
"Fuck…yes. Every fucking night," I moaned grabbing his wrist tighter.
"That’s what I like to hear," Remy groaned low in his throat. "I love you, Gianna. So much."
"I love you more, Remy," I whispered. Reaching down, I pulled his dick out of his thin pajama pants. I was just about to back up on it when we heard the hurried footsteps of Melo's little feet making his way to the bedroom.
"Dammit," Remy dropped his forehead to the back of my head with a groan. "My son has the worst timing I swear."
Laughing I turned quickly to kiss him. "Later."
Remy smiled with a shake of his head. "I don't know if I can wait 'til later, baby. My dick throbbing."
"Daddy! GG!" Melo burst in.
"Good morning, little handsome!" I quickly sat up adjusting my nightgown and ignoring my man for my little sweetheart. He jumped into my arms and I hugged him tight. "The best part of waking up is seeing you." I kissed his forehead.
Melo giggled. "I know GG, that's why I ran in here."
"Uh, hello? Your father is here too, buddy." Remy said behind us with a smile.
"Morning, Daddy!" Melo crawled out of my arms and into Remy's.
"You sleep good, son?" he asked.
"I did." Melo nodded. "I had the bestest dream. Me, you, and GG were on a rocket ship in space!"
"Oh, that’s so cool." I grinned.
"Yep." Melo nodded. "Daddy was the captain, but he got scared when a alien was gonna get us, so you had to fight him for us." He puffed out his chest proudly. "But I helped!"
"Now hold on—" Remy laughed. "Why I gotta be a punk in your dreams? I would beat that alien up and protect you and GG." He tickled his tummy as Melo erupted into laughter. "Tell him baby?" he looked at me.
"Well—" I shrugged slightly with a playful wince. "You did cry a lil' bit when we watched Finding Dory last night."
"You sure did, Daddy!" Melo laughed pointing.
"Aye man—that movie is traumatic." He shook his head ruefully. "Whose side are you on anyway, you little pancake monster?" He tickled Melo again.
"GG's!" Melo squealed.
"And I'm on his," I co-signed, laughing. "Now leave my baby alone." I grabbed Remy's hands playfully. "I got your back, Melo."
"Y'all ganging up on me? Ain't this something," Remy laughed. "Betrayed by my own wife and son."
My head snapped up.
Remy's mouth snapped closed, his eyes widening slightly.
"Oh! Are you and GG getting married, Daddy?!" Melo asked excitedly.
Remy looked flustered.
"Hey, why don’t you go see what you wanna wear to school today, little handsome," I intervened. "I'll come in and help you in second."
"Okay!" Melo jumped up, I helped him out of the bed and his little legs were running off.
"I'm sorry," Remy rushed out rubbing the back of his head which I noticed he did whenever he got nervous. "It felt natural," he explained. "We were playing—I didn’t mean to put any pressure on you…"
"Hey…" I reached over and cupped his chin between my fingers staring into his eyes. "It's okay."
He let out deep breath. "I'm not trying to insinuate or jump the gun. I know we got a lot to work on it's just that—"
I silenced him by pressing my lips against his, pushing my tongue gently in his mouth and kissing his doubt and worry away. My forehead dropped to his, my lips still brushing against his lips. "It sounded good—your wife."
His head lifted to get a better look at me. His eyes flashing hopefully. "It did?"
I nodded with soft smile. "It did, baby."
Remy let out a relieved sigh. "I'm not doing too much am I?" he asked carefully.
"No. Matter fact…you can do more."
He smiled slowly. "Then I will."
"You better," I teased, kissing him one final time before I stood. "Now—let me go help our baby." Blowing him a kiss, I waited for him to catch it before I headed into Melo's room with a spring in my step.
Melo was staring at his closet when I walked in. Remy had his closet organized perfectly. Everything neatly placed on hangers by season, and his shoes arranged in custom cubbies. That was one of the many things I loved about Remy—his organization ad attention to detail.
"Having some trouble there, little handsome?" I placed my hand on his shoulder.
He looked up at me, but the smile was gone from his face. I kneeled to his eye-level. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" I asked my brow furrowed in concern.
His eyes filled with tears, and he fiddled with his hands. "Are you gonna leave me too like my mommy did?" he whispered.
The question was so unexpected, I was momentarily stunned silent. It felt like my heart broke into a million pieces. This sweet baby. Carrying all these big feelings and not sure where to put them. I took his hands in mine staring into his eyes as I fought back my own tears.
"I'm never going to leave you, Melo. You're already stamped all over my heart and I can't live without you now." I gave him a watery smile. "For such a little person, you leave quite a footprint."
He smiled then, those dimples sinking in deep. "I have big feet," he replied making me laugh.
"Big feet and an even bigger heart," I smiled. "I'll be here as long as you need me, okay?"
He nodded sniffling. I gently brushed the tears from under his eyes.
"GG?"
"Yes, baby?"
He leaned in closer. "I wanted to tell you something about my mommy, but sometimes Daddy gets sad when I talk about her."
"Okay," I nodded slowly brushing my thumbs over the tops of his hands. "You can tell me if you want too."
He nodded. "My mommy came in my dreams, and she said you would take care of me and love me real big."
"Oh—" my breath stuttered out of me. The tears I tried to hold in fell. "She really said that?" I whispered shakily.
Melo nodded. "Don't cry. She was happy." He studied my face.
I sniffled loudly and quickly wiped my face with one hand. "I'm not crying because I'm sad, baby. I'm just crying because I'm grateful your mommy trusts me with you."
"Are you gonna be my new mommy?" he asked innocently.
I paused trying to gather myself. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Remy peeking his head in but quickly moved away. He was listening. I didn't want to ruin this and say the wrong thing in this moment.
"Your mommy will always be your mommy, Melo," I said slowly.
"I can't take her place in your life or your heart.
But what I can do is be someone who you trust, who loves you just as hard, and takes care of you just like she would.
And one day…if you want to call me mommy or whatever other name you wanna call me… I'll be that for you, okay?"
His bright smile returned and he nodded happily. "Okay."
I opened my arms and he fell into them; his little arms wrapped around my neck.
Rubbing his back slowly, I pressed my cheek to his and held him until he felt ready to let go.
I said a small prayer to God asking for support to make sure that I made every decision right to ensure I never hurt this baby or his dad.
When Melo pulled back, I helped him pick out something to wear.
He was a big boy though, able to button his own clothes and tie his own shoes.
I watched him with a smile on my face as his little fingers carefully tied his Chuck Taylors.
After washing his face and sponging his curls, we headed into the kitchen where I could already smell Remy cooking.
Remy didn't believe in cereal for breakfast. Every morning, seven days a week, he got up to prepare his son breakfast. It was beautiful to see the care he took in every step of making sure his son was taken care of. I had never seen a better father in my life, and I was including mine as well.
Melo ran to his favorite spot at the table. I walked behind Remy where he was at the stove preparing omelets. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I rested my cheek on his back. He turned to face me, wrapping his arms around me, looking down at me.
"I saw your little head poking in," I murmured with a small smile.
He let out a soft sigh. "I didn't wanna interrupt."
"I know," I nodded. "I hope I said the right thing. I don't wanna overstep."
He murmured gently, "No, no, no," kissing me before nuzzling his nose to mine. "You said everything perfectly. Somehow I fall in love with you more and more every day."
I smiled against his lips. "Same."
Kissing my forehead, I let him go so he could finish. We ate breakfast and cleared the dishes together. Melo went to the bathroom to brush his teeth as I wiped the counters down.
"What are your plans today, baby?" Remy asked me as he turned on the dishwasher.
I pursed my lips in thought. "Actually—nothing," I laughed lightly. "I think this is the first time in my life where I can just relax. Maybe I'll clean out my closet." I shrugged, tossing the paper towel in the trash. "Make mine look like you and Melo's."
He studied me for a moment. "You don't have to go. You can stay here and relax. Do nothing here to your heart's content." Reaching out, he took my hand and pulled me into him. "I love having you here. Melo does too."
