Chapter 11-Living together

Audrey's POV…

My eyes grew wide at the scene before me. So, he called me out here so he could spite me, huh? He brought his girlfriend over and asked me to come so that he could kiss her right in front of me.

My mother's words rang in my ear. I scoffed in disbelief and anger. I quickly turned away and wanted to leave, but then, a thought crossed my mind.

Was he that cheap and reckless? He had just announced that we were engaged, so why would he take that risk of ruining his reputation and the last time I checked, he loved having a clean reputation.

What if it is a misunderstanding?

I took in a deep breath and turned back to go inside. I am going to handle this maturely, that even though he was doing it to get at me, I won't let him get that satisfaction.

“Well, it seems you're busy" I said as soon as I reached there.

I could see the anger in his eyes as he looked at the strange girl.

"Is anything wrong with you? Why did you do that?” Jonathan screamed at her.

Okay, what was going on?

“Oh, I'm sorry. I thought it was someone else" the girl simply said. She turned to me and I saw her clearly.

She had a wicked glint in her eyes and she smiled cunningly as she brushed past me.

I hit her shoulder back with the same force she hit mine.

I glared hard at Jonathan. "What was that display supposed to mean?”

"You were not meant to see that” came his reply as he stood up.

"Oh wow. I was not meant to see that you were kissing your girlfriend in public right after a supposed engagement party" I made it sound like a question.

“You'll soon draw attention, you know that?"

I scoffed. “You're not even taking responsibility for your reckless action. How irresponsible can you be?”

"Stop right there, Ms Willows. You're not going to stand there and accuse me of something I didn't do” he pointed at me.

"Accuse you say. Prove me wrong then” I put my hands dramatically on my waist.

"I'm not doing this with you”

I took a deep breath. "I don't care about your life, what you do with it. Just try to do whatever you do in secret. Kissing her like that in public isn't ideal. It could ruin everything. Let's just hope that no one saw that or took a picture of it"

He looked at me in surprise.

“Why'd you call me here?" I asked.

“Let's have a seat first"

I reluctantly sat down.

“I called you here for two things. First, since we're engaged, we need to start living together. We've already discussed that. Second, I don't think it will be a good idea for you to model for us during fashion week"

“I wasn't even going to anymore. For living together, okay. We have to pick a day we will both pack into the new house"

“Tomorrow"

“The notice is too short," I countered. "The day after tomorrow” I raised a brow at him.

“Sure. I'll pick you up at your place"

“It's settled then" I said as I stood up.

“I'm sorry about earlier. You don't have to worry. It won't happen again" he said, still seated.

Did he just apologise?

“Make sure it doesn't" I said and walked away. What is going on with him?

"What happened?” Lena asked as soon as I entered the car.

“Nothing much. We'll be moving into the new house next tomorrow"

“That's great. Step one, done and dusted. Over to step two" she smiled and turned on the ignition.

Jonathan's POV…

“Did everything go well with Ms Willows?" Richard asked. We were heading home and he was driving.

“I want you to do a background check on Maya Benjamin" I ignored his question.

"Maya Benjamin. Your childhood friend?” He nodded slowly. "Is everything alright? Did she show up unannounced?"

I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. I was very mad and furious at Maya. What if people had seen that? It would be a different story now.

"Sir, are you okay? You hands are fisted”

I looked down at my hand and discovered it was fisted.

"It's nothing. Just keep driving. I'll pick up Ms Willows from her house the day after tomorrow. I need you to arrange a few things at the new house”

"Yes sir”

I looked out through the window. God knows what drama will come once we live together.

"Is this the house I paid 15 million dollars for?" Audrey asked. I had already picked her from her house and we had just arrived at our new house.

I looked at her and saw the displeasure written all over her face.

"Can you imagine that, Lena?" She turned towards the lady by her side, whom I suppose is her manager. The lady I met during the engagement party.

"This house looks like it's not meant to be lived in at all,” she complained.

"Don't judge a book by its cover, Ms Willows. You'll decide when you go inside” Richard said.

"Oh, I don't need to go inside to judge it, but I'll give it that chance. Can you carry that stuff, Lena?"

“Don't worry. Mr Puppet here” the manager gestured towards Richard. "He will help me” I saw his eyes grow wide.

Audrey brushed past me and entered the house. I followed after her.

“The stairs are for what?” She asked.

"The stairs by the right lead to your space while the other leads to mine. No interference in each other's business. This sitting room will be to entertain anyone that'll want to affirm our engagement. So we share the living room, though we both have living rooms in our spaces”

Her eyes slowly moved up to the chandelier. "I don't like that chandelier. It's totally not my style. It'll give me nightmares"

“Well I think it's nice, so you'll have to keep it that way" I retorted.

“This house is too masculine" she muttered, but I heard her.

“Now, there are only two rules in this house" I paused to get her attention.

“Don't interfere in each other's space. Don't cross boundaries…"

“The next rule,” she interrupted me.

I bit my lips. "The most important one…"

"Don't fall in love with me”

Ooohhh. I love how things are going. He made the rule. Maybe he'll break it first.
