Onidus 30

Solara is barely back on her feet, but she’s already been to speak with Lumen Command. She has renounced her homeworld and begun officially training her Vibrance. She’s turned out to be a rather quick study.

Solara has given Oriclen a few replacement ribs and Fiasan an augmented neural assist for his leg when he lost feeling in part of it after taking a Neb bullet.

And we have been spending more time together…alone.

Her delicate flesh is the softest part of her, but I mostly love the way she arches on the bed and bucks over my tongue like she can’t get enough. Ulian forbade mating until he’s determined her body has healed to his satisfaction. But I have learned how to still make her feel good in recent weeks.

Solara’s skin heats and glistens with the gold hues of her Vibrance.

It lights up in her chest every time I pleasure her, lick her opening, swirl my tongue around her clit, and dip it back inside her heat.

She is the best flavor. Though I know she would say banana pops are better… if she could speak.

I make sure she can’t.

She moans and gasps as her big, beautiful, strong pussy clenches around my tongue. There is no better feeling than knowing I am the one who makes her feel this good.

When her body finally calms, I kiss the inside of her thigh and crawl up to her.

Solara never seems to mind the taste of her on my lips.

She kisses me with passion, then trades out with me, gliding her hands up my painfully erect shaft.

It never takes her long once I’ve satisfied her. Hearing her moan always gets me hard.

She curls her hot, wet tongue around my balls and swirls it back and forth all the way up my shaft, where she pushes her luscious mouth down, taking me deep. She grunts in lust, and the vibrations make my balls tense. Every. Single. Time.

Solara sucks all the way to the top, then pushes down again. My body scintillates with heat, rising to the surface of my skin like hot golden coals as she takes my seed and sucks me clean like she can’t stand wasting a drop.

At least now, when my Afterburn ignites, I don’t have to worry about hurting her. I guide her up to me and hold her close as I catch fire. I don’t worry about the bed. I never have to on an Isonian ship.

Solara sucks air in and wiggles her hips beneath me. “I know we can’t, but I just need you inside me.”

“Your Vibrance is too young. We need to be sure Ulian thinks you can handle your Afterburn.”

“Right. Fuck.” She braces my scarred cheek and kisses my scarred lip. “It’s okay if you don’t want to fix this, you know. I love you the way you are.”

“I want to look nice for you.”

She shakes her head. “I don’t care about that. Your scars tell your story. Don’t hide them, definitely not from me. Besides, I kind of like it. Makes you look like you’re always sort of growling. Turns me on.”

I kiss her back. “Alright. But if you change your mind, just tell me. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you.”

“Don’t change yourself for me.” She smirks. “Sound familiar?”

I smile. “A bit.”

“Just be you. That’s who I love.”

“Sir,” ION calls to us. “Lumen Command would like to speak with Solara.” He makes a noise like he’s clearing his throat. “Now.”

I get up and help her into her uniform, then climb into mine. “What’s it about?”

“Duty assignment.”

“They can’t be serious,” I say. “She just took her bandages off yesterday. She needs more time to heal.”

“I don’t know, sir. That’s all the information I was given.”

“Alright, thanks.”

We fix our hair and leave my ship, walk through Chris’ ship, and head into Viriden’s mothership.

Chris catches up to us. “Solara, thank you for the protection symbol augments.”

“Are the voices quieter now?” she asks.

“Can’t hear them anymore. How are yours?”

She smiles. “Still only hear them through static and portal pulses.”

“That’s good. Maybe it was just the number of times I jumped that caused the severity of mine.”

“How often did you jump?” I ask.

“A lot. I was dating this feisty Ksion. Redheads… You know.” Chris smirks and rubs a hand down his growing beard. “She would just show up and whisk me away to some meadow…”

Ryz joins us just outside Lumen Command’s hall with Ulian, Kassian, Elsion, and Oriclen. “A Ksion? Man, you are nuts. That’s like dating a Delsfein. Playing with dimensional fire.”

“I know.” Chris lifts his hands in surrender. “But she was damn sexy.”

Solara plugs her ears with her fingers. “Can’t hear you! La la la la.” Then she lowers her hands. “That’s TMI, Chris.”

“You’re sure you don’t have any little Halflings wandering around out there?” Kassian teases.

“I’m sure.” Chris frowns at him. “She left me for a Caligno. Bigger, stronger…”

Solara giggles. “Definitely not harrier.”

Chris scoffs. “Caligno are like mountain yetis, Little Fox.”

She dances her gold brows. “I know.”

Chris crosses his arms. “And to think I came here to see what they were going to do with you because I cared.”

“We all did,” Ryz says, opening the door to the hall.

I encourage Solara inside, but she hesitates. “Come on, it’s just procedure.”

I stop at the gold line in the floor as does the rest of my crew. Solara warily joins us.

“Open your orb to them. It will float into a shield above your head.” I help her draw her Variance out with a hand.

It fizzles and snaps and flares like a wild sun.

It is of a pale gold hue, though somewhat smaller than ours.

But it holds together and rises into the shielded chamber for our meeting.

“When we are before the elders and generals of Lumen Command, we are not allowed to have access to our powers.”

“I understand.”

I release my larger white gold orb and send it into the shielded chamber overhead. Chris is the only one of us who does not have a Vibrance.

“Torrent Solara,” someone calls out from the rows of faces who have gathered for the meeting.

“Yes, sir?” Solara replies.

“We have reviewed your recent emergency service but would like to know what your plans are.”

“I would like to keep training and learning what I can so I may be a more useful asset in the field,” Solara replies.

The command members confer quietly.

“Where would you like to be stationed?” another man asks.

“With Onidus and his crew. In recent weeks, they worked together and did some amazing things. I could learn a lot more from Ulian about healing Isonians and other species. I definitely need Oriclen’s patient Aural Discernment training, Elsion’s Masking skills, and Kassian and Iryssius’ Pyronic training. ”

“What about Onidus?” a woman on the board asks.

“As you know, we are the only two survivors from the Delsfein attacks. The things we have been through together are not ones anyone else understands. I do not wish to be away from him. When I was sent back to Earth, it was the lonliest and most desolate feeling I have ever carried. I lost contact with the only person who could relate to me.”

“And if we were to send you with a different crew?” the woman asks.

“I would resign,” Solara replies.

I look down at her, surprised.

Solara lifts her chin. “I am strongest when I am fighting alongside him. When we are apart, I am…not. So if you will not grant me service with him, then I choose to be his Bond and wait for him on a mothership so he will know where to call home.”

I stutter. My Vibrance pulses harder overhead, giving everything away. I cannot hide how I feel or Mask anything in this chamber. They can all see the Bond pulses now.

“Onidus, did you know about this?” a male elder asks.

“I didn’t think she’d choose me. She was very adamant about being on the front lines,” I reply. “But I would be honored to make our Bond official if that’s what it takes to keep her close.”

Lumen Command chats for a moment.

“Viriden?” A man calls up to him. “Do you approve of the decision?”

Viriden, who sits at the top of the rows all the way to the right, agrees. “They are a compatible match.”

“Then it is settled.”

My heart pounds faster, wondering what they’re going to do with Solara.

“She will remain…” The speaker pauses as a signal comes through. “Assigned to Chris and his Tachyon.”

“What?” Solara asks.

Chris, who stands to my left, sighs with relief.

The command member looks up. “As will all of you. We are creating a new fleet designation with Commander Chris, Smoldren: Onidus, Iryssius, and Ulian and Embers: Kassian, Elsion, and Oriclen.”

“I’m getting promoted?” Oriclen pumps a fist.

“And your three ION Stingers.” The command member leans back in his seat.

“We need to expand the reach and the numbers of our fleet. We need eyes all over the galaxy. Your first mission is to check on the Roscazkan refugee colony. See how they are healing, confirm supplies, and figure out how we can upgrade their defense training and get them back on their feet. You leave immediately.”

“Yes, sir,” we all reply.

I reach up for my Vibrance and summon it to me.

Solara lifts her hand and smiles as her soulfire orb sinks into her hand. “It’s beautiful.”

“If you like a tangled mess,” Ulian remarks. “I did my best.”

She gives him a knowing look. “I don’t mind that it isn’t your idea of perfect. Perfect to me is a little scarred and broken but still fighting.”

Solara guides her Vibrance back into her chest as I have done with mine, then takes my glowing hand with her radiant one in front of everyone. “You didn’t think I was going to let you get away from me again, did you?”

“I didn’t know. And I didn’t want to assume.”

We walk the hallways, holding hands, and I feel like a teenager again. But I don’t mind, because I have the one thing that matters most to me in the world finally at my side, safe, and looking up at me like I’m everything she wants too.

Ulian clicks something behind us as we enter Chris’ ship. When I look back, he folds up a scanner and pockets it, then looks away.

“What is it?” I ask.

He glances at us in passing. “Just close the door and the ramp so we don’t have to hear you two.”

Solara gapes at him. “Am I cleared for…duty?”

His eyes smirk just a little, then he darts his pointed glance at me. “Light duty.”

“Fuck yes.” I pick Solara up by the hips and carry her toward ION, docked in Chris’ main hangar. “Tell ION when we’re almost there. We are not coming out until then.”

Kassian makes a disgusted noise. Ryz whistles suggestively and guides Chris and the others toward the bridge.

Chris shouts back at me. “You be good to her, or I will kick your ass, you little glowing photonfucker!”

Solara chuckles. “Someone’s been hanging out with Ryz too much.”

I carry her up the ramp. “I don’t mind. As long as it keeps them away from us.”
