Most would say Lina Lee was quiet and reserved.

But I knew her well. Her stoicism had never been meek.

She demanded attention and received it no matter how silent she was.

Tonight was different—just like when she had walked into work that one morning several weeks ago.

Only for me to later find out her brother had been harassing her and causing a disturbance at her home.

I instantly noticed that something was wrong tonight. Somehow, it felt different this time.

Silence hung between Lina and me. It wasn’t heavy or uncomfortable, just calm. Something was on her mind. It didn’t eat away at her the way her situation with her brother did. Instead, it lingered softly across her eyes. It clung gently onto the edges of her expression.

“You’re quiet tonight,” I commented as we made our way back to her home.

The psychological thriller we had watched was good, in the sense that it was entertaining. The plot twists and turns were unexpected, but they weren’t at the forefront of my mind—Lina was.

“I am?” she asked, rather surprised.

“Yeah,” I answered, squeezing her hand lightly. “You okay?”

“I’m good.” Lina stopped in her tracks to look at me and to pause for a moment.

The night sky was clear, giving the moon a chance to shine her silver rays across my girlfriend’s beautiful face.

Big, cool brown-black eyes, a cute little button nose, and plush heart-shaped lips.

There wasn’t a single strand of her pin-straight hair that was out of place.

She was the embodiment of perfection, as always.

“Have you always been this close with your sister and cousin?” she asked, curiosity ringing in her voice.

I tipped my head to the side, thinking for a moment.

“My relationships with them have never really changed. So, I guess, yeah. We’ve always been this close,” I answered.

“The twins have always treated me the same, too. Sure, we’re all older now, but our relationships have pretty much been the same as when we were kids.

The only difference now is that the twins are with my sister and cousin. ”

Her brows crumpled together. “You knew the Hughes twins since you were a kid?”

“Yeah, I did,” I laughed. “Our moms are best friends. We grew up living next door to one another after my dad passed away. They’re practically my older brothers.”

Lina nodded slowly, beginning to walk toward her place as another thought streaked across her eyes. Once again, she stayed silent.

“What?” I asked. She chuckled. “You’re not being slick, Lina. I know something’s on your mind.”

“It’s nothing . . . It’s nice to see how loving your family is,” she said softly.

“I love how they show love through food. It’s a very Hmong thing to do—to put all our love into the food we make for the ones we care about.

This is what we grew up knowing, because our parents didn’t know how to express their love.

And yet, I haven’t felt something like this in a long time.

At least, not before we had ph? at your sister’s place when I first moved here. ”

I wanted to say something, but she turned to me before I could. Her eyes glistened as her smile grew wider.

“You are so loved, Jonathan. I used to be jealous of you, but now, I’m also one of those people who cares that much about you,” she continued.

My heart expanded wide and vast with each hard thump. I reached for her face. “I care that much about you too.”

When she tiptoed to kiss me, I met her halfway. We kissed, only briefly, before pulling away and finally making it back to her place. As she unlocked her front door, she looked up at me.

“Anthony isn’t wrong, by the way,” she said as we walked inside her house. “You do seem to take pointers from the twins when it comes to flirting.”

I raised a brow at her, smirking. “I do not.”

She shrugged. “You do.”

I scoffed while she laughed. “How so?”

She placed her index finger on my sternum, right in the middle of the valley of my pectorals. In a light swipe, she drew down. A breath groaned out of me as I tossed the extra food Shoua made sure to pack us onto the coffee table.

“Big and arrogant smiles. Loud laughs. Angling and tilting your handsome faces to play with shadows and light,” she sighed. “I think you learned quite a bit from your brothers.”

I laughed, stepping closer to her. “What a keen observer you are.”

She placed her hands on my hips. “Aren’t you going to reward me for being observant?” she asked, her voice dipping into a low rasp, “Professor?”

I smirked, leaning over her. “How would you like to be rewarded, Miss Lee?”

She tipped her head back to look up at me. Dark eyes swirling with many emotions. “Just a small kiss good night.”

I blew out a long, disappointed sigh. “Just one kiss?”

“Only one.” Although there was little to no emotion on her face, her eyes twinkled with playfulness. “Only one.” Her lips tugged a centimeter at the corners.

“Then, I guess I’ll have to make the most out of just this one kiss,” I murmured, cupping her face with both my hands.

I leaned in and went straight to the tops of her full and soft cheeks. I grazed my teeth there as she laughed out loud. “You’re supposed to kiss me. Not eat me.”

I pulled away from her, just far enough so she could see my expression. “I’d gulp you up, swallow you down, and eat you whole at any moment and chance I get, Lina. You should know by now that it’s a privilege I savor.”

A soft sigh tumbled out of her. Her pretty mouth didn’t move, but I knew thoughts whirled in that glorious mind of hers. I leaned back, only for our lips to be centimeters away from kissing.

Teasing her, I muttered each word along with hot, long breaths. “You said you wanted one kiss, Miss Lee, and I will give you only that,” I whispered firmly. “If you want more, I suggest you start begging like a good girl.”

Her lips coiled into a seductive smile. The hands on my hips tightened as my cock twitched against her lower stomach.

“You want this more than me, sir. I simply asked for one small kiss.” One of her hands drew up to my chest, pushing against me, the heel of her palm digging into my flesh.

She tipped her chin down, her eyes burning brightly with challenge.

“If you’re demanding that kind of kiss, I suggest you start barking instead. ”

I scoffed. “Like a dog?”

She shrugged, amusement almost pulling her mouth into a playful smirk. “You’re mine, aren’t you?”

I snaked my arms around her waist and drew her back into my chest. I buried my face into the nape of her neck and laughed. Her hand carded through my hair, making me groan.

“You’re not wrong. I’m yours, as I’ve said before. I’m better than a dog though.”

She tugged me away from the place where I found comfort, with the pull of my hair. The grip she had on my scalp tightened, drawing out a low snarl from me. Her mouth parted, but before she could say anything, I began barking and growling like a wild beast.

Lina’s eyes grew wide with shock for a moment before delight danced across her face. She threw a hand over my mouth to muffle the feral sounds I made. Her laugh filled the space as she brought another hand to my face to stifle my voice. I grinned until my face ached as I stopped.

The wicked smile on my Lina’s face stretched as wide as mine. She brought her palms down to my jaw, holding me tenderly, and leaned in.

“Good boy,” she breathed into my mouth.

Pride pumped arrogantly through every artery and vein, straight to my cock. It twitched eagerly for her as her hands slid from my jaw to where it pinned against my left thigh.

She drew her fingers over its tip and cooed in her sultry voice, “You’ve been such a good boy, too.”

“Fuck, Lina,” I groaned desperately. “You can’t be doing this to me.”

She laughed, closing the space between us.

I nuzzled the nape of her neck but never connected our lips.

She said she only wanted one kiss good night, after all.

That would be all I gave her. This was a game she wanted to play, and I was a willing participant despite my twitching dick. I buried my nose deeper into her scent.

I needed to breathe her in. I needed to slow things down for a moment, despite my cock protesting at the idea.

I kissed her there, then up the column of her neck to the outline of her lips.

When I finally arrived at the center of her mouth, I smiled.

She mirrored me with a shallow breath and bright eyes.

“I love you,” I breathed.

“I love you, too,” she whispered back.

I peppered her face with kisses. She let out a happy laugh, and I tossed her over my shoulders and ran up the stairs.

She yelled at the top of her lungs from the sudden motion: “JONATHAN!”

A peeved look flashed across her face when I gently set her down on her plush bed. Her pursed lips formed the cutest pout, making me laugh.

“I didn’t realize you were close enough to your neighbors to introduce me to them on a weekly basis,” I said.

Lina scoffed, pushing her hair out of her face. “I take back calling you a good boy,” she bit.

I tipped my head to the side and smirked. “That’s alright, Darling. You can just keep yelling my name instead. At least all your neighbors will still know I’m yours.”

A sharp tug on my hand made me topple over her, our breaths mingling just centimeters apart again. My girlfriend’s expression softened as her hand reached up to push my hair out of my eyes.

“I’m yours, too,” she said. I laughed, squeezing her in a sudden and tight embrace. “Jonathan!”

I hummed against the corner of her lips, ready to kiss her. She pushed me away gently, just far enough to look at me with frustrated eyes.

“You’re supposed to give me a good-night kiss as my reward, remember?” she stated.

“Only if you say my name loud and proud as you come,” I said. “Let them know who I am and what I do to you.”

Red bloomed on the apples of her cheeks. “Fine.”

“Now that’s a good girl,” I cooed, shifting over her body to tug off the sweatpants and panties she had on. I kissed her inner thigh. She whimpered softly. “Say my name, Lina.”

“Jonathan,” she murmured.

“Good girl,” I hummed.

Her hand reached out to my fringe and gripped it until my scalp stung. “Be a good boy and give me my kiss.”

I smirked. Her eyes sparkled with delight as my chest expanded with the deep inhale I made. I needed all the oxygen I could get before diving into her ocean to swallow down her throbbing pearl and give her the kiss she demanded.

I am a good boy after all.
