Chapter 4 Anonymous Photos

ANONYMOUS PHOTOS

Wyatt

“I’m sorry, back up. You’re building a sex app? This isn’t some weird talk sexy shit to a robot thing, right?” Theo asked, wide-eyed and giddy. I could tell he was thinking that the jokes wrote themselves.

I shook my head no as Rowan cackled next to me.

My twin brother already knew all about this.

I’d told him a week ago in the midst of trying to keep him from going after his girl’s ex and killing him in cold blood—not that the fucker didn’t deserve it, but still.

I hadn’t had a chance to tell the rest of my siblings until now.

I was one of five; Oliver was the oldest. Then there was Rowan and I, then Theo, and the youngest of us was our sister Payton.

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about this Ro,” Aspen said from next to Rowan, a smile bright on her face.

They’d been together almost a month now, and they were grossly obsessed with each other.

However, my brother deserved to be happy, so we all held back our gags at their lovey-dovey eyes and nicknames for each other.

“Sorry, little angel. I was a bit side-tracked by a certain someone when I’d finally gotten you back home, so it hadn’t crossed my mind again.” Rowan shrugged and smirked my way. Again, gagging at the nickname shit.

I looked towards Oliver, waiting for him to say something. It was rare we were able to get him out of the house, away from the ranch, and off single-dad duty, so this was a treat. “I’m truly just happy you’re successful with something you love. I don’t think much else needs to be said there.”

“So this is for Silk and Spice?” Payton asked.

“How do you know about Silk and Spice?” Rowan asked with an arched brow, but she just rolled her eyes and her gaze returned to me.

“Yeah, they reached out after I finished that job for the law office in Sapphire Cove. Apparently Julian’s lawyer works there and recommended me. Said I was discreet, great at my job, and professional in all aspects.”

They all laughed, and Payton shook her head, the disbelief clear. “Discreet, absolutely. The best secret keeper of the family, but professional? Ha!”

I shook my head and took a drink of my beer.

We were trying to make this a weekly thing—the six of us meeting at The Raven for beers.

Sibling bonding and shit at mine and Theo’s favorite local bar.

Once upon a time, we’d been able to drag Rowan out for a night of fun, but now that he was in love, he wasn’t into that type of fun anymore. So we settled for casual beers.

My phone pinged and I looked down to see a text from Julian.

Julian: Your profile is all set up as far as preferences and shit. Make sure to add your picture so they know how handsome you are.

Julian: Also, ideas on what we should do for people looking for the anonymous feature? Photo’s make it less…anonymous.

This was true. Hadn’t thought about that.

“Okay family. Ideas on how to keep the anonymous sex anonymous on the app when you have your photo on there?” I looked around the table, everyone suddenly quiet. I wasn’t sure if it was because they had no damn idea, or because they were actually thinking. Aspen was the first to speak up though.

“Well that depends. Is there an option to include what you want physically in a person? Hair color? Eye color? That type of thing?” she asked.

I nodded. “Yeah of course. Even height and body type are included.”

“Could you make it so that if someone wants anonymous sex, they can just have a setting to keep their photos private?” Aspen asked.

“Or maybe recommend they do a no-face profile like those hot guys online that do those thirst trap videos with the masks!” Payton added.

All the guys stared at her, but Aspen was giggling like a schoolgirl, a blush taking over her face.

“What the hell is so funny, angel?” Rowan asked her.

Aspen shook her head. “We have a group chat with Ivy, and she likes to send us…uhm…videos from the book guys…” She stopped and bit her bottom lip and looked back to me.

“So yeah. Photos of them without their face or the option to only display certain photos and what they look like.” She shrugged and covered her mouth—I assumed to cover up another laugh.

“You’re deleting that group chat,” Rowan mumbled.

She rolled her eyes, and Payton laughed. “And you’re turning off the cameras in the house,” Aspen threw back.

That seemed to shut him up. After Aspen’s ex broke into her apartment, I’d seen to it to install security cameras throughout Rowan’s place so he could keep an eye on Aspen when she was home and he had to work.

We weren’t sure what her ex was going to do next, so he wanted to be safer now, rather than sorry later.

“Anyway, thank you ladies. Those are solid ideas. I’ll run them by Julian.

” I pulled our text thread back up and summarized what they’d suggested.

Especially recommending the faceless photos.

That was smart as hell. These girls and their damn romance books were saving me a great deal of brain power tonight.

My phone buzzed again, and it was a topless photo of Mia that slid into my inbox. I couldn’t help the eye roll that overtook me.

“How does one get rid of a girl that was never any more than a casual thing?” I asked aloud.

Theo chuckled, and Oliver mumbled something about needing another beer as he got up and walked towards the bar.

“Depends. Did you make it clear what your intentions were from the beginning?” Aspen asked, a knowing brow raised.

“Is this about the blond?” Theo questioned.

I sighed. “Yes and yes.”

Payton shook her head and sighed, summoning up annoyance that only a sister could possess.

“I told you to stay away from her. Did you know I heard that when she was a senior in high school, she not only screwed her best friend’s boyfriend, but then leaked her friend’s photos all over the internet?

Including in the school’s chat rooms. She never even got in trouble for it.

The school just did their best to get it all taken down and swept it under the rug because her dad was part of the school’s administration or some shit. ”

“Her photos? What does that mean?” Rowan asked.

Aspen and Payton both stared at him in a way that said ‘duh’.

“Her photos, cowboy,” Aspen muttered from beside him, a brow arched.

“Naked ones?” They both nodded slowly, and I could feel my anger rising for some girl I didn’t even know. Who the fuck did something like that? Especially to someone they called their friend.

“That’s horrible. I hope she’s okay,” Aspen added after a moment of silence.

I looked down at my inbox and deleted the message from Mia. No way in hell I needed any more of this drama in my life.

Before I could put away my phone, Julian liked the message, and I took that as a good sign.

I added it to my to-do list to add into the security features and the welcome menu in the next couple of days. I guess that meant I needed to add in some anonymous photos of myself too.

Lovely.
