Chapter 27 #2

The moment I turned on my street and saw a family car in my driveway, I almost pissed on myself.

My mother didn’t have her own car, but somehow, it slipped my mind that she would have needed a ride to my house.

When I saw Jazzie’s and Trina’s ashy asses, I said a silent prayer that I didn’t end up in jail tonight.

It had been years since I’d laid eyes on the miserable bitch, and I still owed her an ass whupping.

They were blocking one side of the driveway, but I wasn’t gonna let it stop me from parking. This was one of those times when I wished Noodle had been with Granny Nessa or even Keynauri because I didn’t want her anywhere near these people.

“Lord, please help.” I called on the only one who could intervene in this moment. Nothing good could come from this interaction, so I was preparing for the worst.

Once I parked, I said one more prayer and sent a message to Essex, letting him know he needed to get home as soon as possible.

Noodle was hyper and full of energy, and I debated whether I should take her out or leave her in her seat with the door open.

My plan was to get them away from our house as soon as possible, and I didn’t want to involve her at all.

When I got out of the car, I heard loud music booming, instantly alerting me to the fact that my man had pulled up. I breathed a little easier because my protector was here. With Noodle on my hip, I walked over to where they were. When my eyes landed on Nathan, I could feel my stomach twist.

“Why the hell would you bring these people to my house. Have you lost your mind?” I hissed, my eyes darting between the three of them in disgust.

“These people? Little girl, if it weren’t for your aunt, you would have been in foster care getting fucked by strangers every night. You ought to be a little more grateful.”

I scoffed at her audacity. “And you think being starved and raped by my aunt’s creepy-ass boyfriend was better?

Everybody kept telling me you were on that shit, but I didn’t want to believe them until now.

You’ve got a lot of nerve showing up here unannounced, but you really lost your mind when you brought these pathetic mothafuckas to the place where my daughter rests her head.

” I was boiling over with anger to the point that I could picture myself choking the life out of every last one of them.

“I don’t see why you have an issue with me coming here. She’s just as much my daughter as—”

“I wouldn’t even finish that statement if I were you,” East warned as he stood beside me. Noodle still had her headphones on, but the minute she saw her daddy, she leaped out of my arms. It was probably for the best because had he not had her in his arms, there was no telling what he would do.

“Who the hell do you think you are?” Nathan spat.

“I’m the mothafucka who’s gonna blow your head off your fuckin’ shoulders. You’ve got a lot of nerve bringing your spineless, sick ass to my house, but I’ma make it worth your while in a minute,” East shot back.

“I don’t take too kindly to threats, young blood.”

“And I don’t make threats, hoe-ass nigga.

I make promises. You already tried to snatch my child and harass my woman at the grocery store.

You’ve got a price on your head as we speak, but you made my job even easier,” East replied with a devious grin.

It sent shivers down my spine. I knew my man’s temperament well enough to know he was ready for war.

“This is what I’m talking about. How can you stand here and let this boy talk to the father of your child like this?” Jazzie interjected.

“I told you that you raised a disrespectful little bitch. First, she seduces my man, and now she’s trying to keep him out of his own child’s life.” Trina’s crooked-wig-wearing ass added in her two cents.

“You two must have been in the carpet classes together. The fact that you showed up here is mind-blowing, but for any of you to think your thoughts and opinions matter to me is insane. All three of you should be in jail, or at the very least, six feet under. I don’t owe you anything.

Now, turn around and climb your dumb asses back into that beat-up-ass Cadillac and get the hell on. This is my last warning,” I demanded.

East handed Noodle back to me, and she was not pleased. I tried to hold onto her as best as I could, but she wouldn’t stop squirming.

“You heard my lady. It’s time for you to leave.” East stood there with one hand in the waistband of his pants. I whispered a silent prayer simply because I knew how angry he could get, and I didn’t want him to do anything that could take him away from me.

I heard another vehicle pull up, and my heart sank.

“I’m tired of you getting in the middle of what I have going on.

You’re upset because I was the first person to break that little pussy in, and you know deep down she’ll never truly be over me.

I live rent-free in your head. That’s why you keep trying to keep me from talking to her! ” Nathan shouted.

Panic set in as I began to have flashbacks of all the things he made me do in that house. I didn’t need to look at East to know he was on the verge of losing his cool.

“Pussy-ass bitch, I keep you away because you’re a fucking pervert.

You don’t give a fuck about your daughter.

That’s why you barely know her name or how old she is.

When she first got pregnant, I told Lyric to stop taking money from you because she doesn’t need you or your hush money.

I bet your cockeyed wife has never even laid eyes on your daughter, but you want to stand here making demands with your chest out.

Nigga, fuck you! That’s my mothafuckin’ seed!

” East roared. The veins in his forehead were pulsating, and I knew things were only going to go from bad to worse.

“Somebody explain to me what the fuck is going on. Why the hell is your old ass standing outside of my little sister’s place? I know damn well this isn’t Symphonee’s father. Lyric, what the fuck!”

When I heard my brother’s voice, I had a mixture of emotions.

On one hand, I was happy he was there, but on the other hand, I was frightened because it brought back memories from our past. He had been badgering me about Symphonee’s biological father, but I was too ashamed to tell him.

I knew my brother would try to go after him, and I wasn’t willing to risk his freedom.

“Young blood, this is none of your business. Lyric is grown, and we are the only people who should be talking. None of you were there when I was fucking that tight virgin pus—”

My body froze as Keynauri reared back and knocked Nathan on his ass.

I tried to hold East by his shirt, but he broke free with ease.

When I saw the two of them jumping Nathan, I panicked and tried to break them up.

I set Noodle down, but I must not have been as gentle as I originally thought because I heard her cries from behind me.

We were surrounded by older, wealthy couples, and there was no doubt in my mind that they would call the police if they heard the ruckus outside.

“Essex, get off of him! You’re gonna kill him!” I screamed, attempting to grab him by the shirt. Tears ran down my cheeks, and I could feel a panic attack coming on. I hadn’t had one since I moved in with Essex years ago, but I was triggered.

“Get your hands off of him!” Trina yelled.

I wanted to pop her right in the mouth, but East would have a fit if I fought while pregnant. Hell, I didn’t want to put my unborn at risk either.

“If you loved him like you say you do, you might want to get him before he ends up at the morgue!” I shouted.

I heard the sound of screeching tires, and when I looked up, Logic was running toward us.
