Epilogue One

TWO MONTHS LATER

Sitting across the room, I watch my wife and mom. Hmm, I never thought I would think of another woman in that way, but she is that. She was there and helped raise me for the time she was with my father. Now, she’s staying with us for a couple of weeks, she and Daria. I look out at the deck, where Daria is lying out beside the pool. It isn’t warm enough in the January weather for her to sunbathe, but she says she likes to look out over Vegas.

I interviewed Daria to become my personal assistant at the Lucky Dice, but both Gray and I decided she was too good for that. She’s now in charge of our whales. She’ll take care of the bigwigs, ensuring all their needs are met. I can keep a close eye on her and make sure she is safe and protected, always. Even though she is only twenty-one, she has a good head on her shoulders and knows this town very well. Living in Laughlin, she worked for one of the casinos there while also attending college. So this is the perfect move for her. She’ll be staying with us until I can talk her mother into moving into the house next door. She doesn’t know I’ve already bought it, and it’s just waiting for her to decide to leave Laughlin. Lena had refused to go far. Her brother wanted her to completely leave Nevada, but she kept telling him I would want to know I have a sister and I would come looking for them both someday. It’s crazy that my lisichka took it upon herself to figure out I needed this.

Going all in on her was the best bet I’ve ever made in Vegas. I should have told her as soon as I proposed that I loved her. Not just that she was mine. She is mine and will always be. Our children are going to know a life of privilege, but they will also be lined up with the Bratva, because I now know that my life is only complete when the two sides of me are aligned.
