Chapter 69

Chapter Sixty-Nine

~Thane~

Sarah wanders into my office without knocking.

I glare at her, but she just smiles sweetly and places a mug on my desk.

I am mentally cursing myself for hiring the girl.

She is too handsy, always trying to touch us, always talking.

I can't stand her! I hired her out of spite because I am furious.

And now I am stuck with her. She steps closer to my desk, and I turn my head to look at her.

"What?" I snap at her. She flinches, but plasters that sickly sweet smile on her face, which has me internally shuddering with revulsion.

She doesn't even bother with suppressants. It’s like she is hoping to send one of us into a rut.

She doesn't realize that we already have an Omega, and we don't want another one. Shit, I don’t even want the one I have, so she stands no chance in hell of getting with my pack.

"Do you need anything else?" she purrs.

"Yes, for you to get the fuck out of my office!" I snarl at her. She pales as my aura smashes against her, and she runs out. I glare at the mug she left on my desk before turning my attention back to my laptop, before Raidon rushes into my office, making me look up.

He has a furious look on his face. "She has got to go! I swear if she tries touching me again, I will break her fucking fingers!" he snaps, falling into the chair across from me.

I lean back in my chair, knowing he’s right. The girl is driving us insane, and not in the way that Harlow did. No, this bitch is on the prowl for a wealthy pack. That much is clear, with the way she all but throws herself at us.

My mates are furious, and so am I, at my own stupidity. I wanted to hurt Harlow, and I knew her smelling another Omega on them would drive her insane, cause her anguish. But now, this Omega is upsetting my mates. They despise her and want her gone.

"Thane, either she goes, or I will fucking quit!" Raidon snaps at me.

"Quit?" I ask him. Does he not realize he owns part of the company?

He can't just fucking quit. When I took over this place, I made us all equal partners.

I knew nothing about the business, and I needed their help.

I never wanted to be trapped in an office all day, and I barely knew anything about what my fathers did here until I inherited it.

"Yes, I will fucking quit! I don't want another Omega prancing around here! And she doesn't even fucking work! I swear she stands by our damn doors waiting to see if our mugs are empty," he growls angrily.

"I'll speak with her," I tell him.

"No. You will fire her. Or you will have another scandal on your hands when I fucking kill her, and she goes missing!" Raidon snaps angrily before rising to his feet.

"Where are you going?" I ask, not wanting him to leave, knowing that bimbo will try to come back in here.

"Back to my Omega!" he snaps at me while digging his keys out of his pocket.

"What about the meeting we have?"

"Handle it yourself," he says, storming out of my office. I shake my head when I hear him call out to Leon.

"Leon, we are leaving!" he yells out. I hear his office door open; Leon is all too eager to leave. The moment they’re gone, Rhen rushes into my office. He locks the door behind him, his laptop in his hand. As soon as he sits at my desk, we hear the door handle twist, and he growls menacingly.

"Vile woman!" he sneers when we hear her heels clicking on the floor as she wanders off.

We hide out in my office until our upcoming meeting with Jake, but he cancels at the last minute. He says he can't make it. That something came up, and he has to return home. Which is fine by me because I want out of this building and away from my damn 'assistant'.

However, as we pack everything up to leave, the mind-link opens up. I know they went home because they had mind-linked earlier to let me know a package I was waiting for had arrived.

'What's up?' I ask.

'Have you seen or heard from Harlow?' Leon asks, and I feel Raidon force the link open and join the conversation.

'What do you mean?' Rhen asks.

'We’re at the hotel, but she isn't here. We searched the entire damn building!' he snaps. Rhen jumps to his feet in a panic.

'Maybe she went for a walk,' I tell them as I look out the window. It is just turning dark outside.

'We have been looking for her for the past hour, Thane. Since we got here.'

'An hour! And you are only just now mind-linking!' Rhen yells at them. I growl and get to my feet, knowing damn well they will annoy the fuck out of me until I track her down.

'We are on our way,' I tell them, cutting off the link. We leave and I tell Sarah to head home. Her shift finished an hour ago. I know why she lingers, but she doesn't stand a chance in hell with any of us.

We meet up with the others at the hotel and search every nook and cranny of the place yet find no trace of her. She feels perfectly fine through the bond. Happy even, which pisses me off. She is excited and happy about something, while her mates are in a fucking panic.

We go to Talon's club, but she isn't there, before trying her old apartment.

I have no idea where else she might be. She has no money or anywhere else to go.

We tried Bree and Talon's place, but no one is home.

We try calling Talon, and when he can't get a hold of Bree, we figure Harlow is likely out with her somewhere.

It’s 10 p.m. by the time Talon calls back.

He finally figured out where Bree is, and we head straight to the club he tells us she is at.

Through the bond, we can feel she is fucking drunk, which only angers me more because she is putting herself at risk going out without us in this city.

When we arrive, we see it is one of Bree's friend's clubs, which explains how she got Harlow in without ID.

Stepping into the place, I groan when I see Sarah.

Of course, she has to be at the same fucking club our mate is at.

Raidon shoves past her and into the club, searching for our mate.

Rhen nods upstairs and moves past me, heading for the stairs.

I try to evade my assistant, but she beelines straight for me.

"Are you here to see me?" she purrs, brushing her fingers across my white button-down shirt.

"Definitely not! Now fuck off!" I snap at her.

Her cheeks turn red at my harshness. Stepping further inside, all I can smell is pheromones, mingling scents, and liquor.

I make my way around the place. Bodies gyrate against each other, and the strobing lights annoy my eyes, when the mind-link opens up.

'Over there,' Rhen says.

I look up at him to see him pointing behind me, where some booths are. Turning around, I spot Harlow in the back with Bree, both of them laughing hysterically while Bree gives her a lap dance.
