Chapter 20 #2

God, his tongue. It hasn’t even touched me yet and it’s a turn-on. I let him position me the way he wants me, watching through a haze of lust and already breathing faster at the confident way he handles my body, no doubt in his mind that he can, in fact, change my whole world.

“You want to tell me what you like?” He’s on his knees between my legs, dropping kisses along my thighs. “Or should I find out for myself?”

Shyness washes over me. “We’ll both have to find out. I’ve never actually…come from oral.”

Cash freezes and shakes his head. “Oh, sweetheart.” A devilish smile crosses his face. “The world did you wrong, baby, but don’t worry. I’m about to fix that. Let Cash take care of you.”

His thumb makes a slow, experimental circle around my clit and my entrance, reading my readiness.

It’s only the gentlest of touches, but it draws a gasp out of me anyway, his touch electric.

I’m ready and he knows it. He doesn’t waste time with any more foreplay, instead dipping his head until his tongue meets my center and I jerk in response.

Delight and anticipation spill over me when he rings his fingers around my ankles and draws them up on the edge of the chair so I’m completely exposed.

There’s no room for shyness, only the lust that consumes me at the way he gazes at my body with complete adoration.

He parts the delicate skin around my clit with his fingers and exhales like he’s steadying himself, his eyes transfixed on me.

Wetting his lips, he bows his head. My body shudders as he swirls his mouth around my needy clit like a graceful French kiss, my nerves oversensitive and overeager for his touch.

Just like that, the story I always told myself—I don’t like oral—falls away.

No, in his capable hands, I love it. Need it.

Might die if he doesn’t give me more right now.

Liquid heat pulses between my thighs as he kisses me again, his wet tongue and lips like all the pleasure in the world concentrated down to a single point.

A moan erupts from my throat, and like the sound is his fuel, he squeezes my thighs and murmurs something into my delicate skin that sets the nerves firing.

I can barely hear him, all my sensory energy directed at my core, but I think he’s saying my name.

My hands fly to the arms of the chair when he pushes his tongue inside my waiting pussy. His fingers take command of my clit, making it pulse and throb as he strokes, but now his mouth romances my wet slit.

I want to watch him because, shit, the way he kneels before me like he’s worshipping my body is hypnotizing, but I can’t keep my eyes open. My head falls back, and I let go.

“I want to fucking eat you from the inside out, you know that?” Cash’s gruff voice sounds.

I swallow the moan his words elicit, not wanting him to see how easily he breaks me down, then wonder why I did it. He deserves to know exactly how talented he is.

My legs shake as electric tension builds from my center out, reaching my fingertips, my toes, every inch inside me. I don’t even recognize the sound of my cries, even though by now I should. By now I should know this girl only Cash can bring out of me because he does it every time.

“Georgia?”

It takes a second for the sound of my name to penetrate the thick shell of lust surrounding me.

“Georgia, you here?”

My name sounds again, and this time I gasp as recognition hits: Maisy’s voice. Oh god. My eyes crack open and I try to speak, but I feel too weak. When I look down at Cash, he holds up a finger to quiet me.

“I can feel how close you are,” he whispers. “Close your eyes and let me finish.”

I almost protest, but he nods, and in his eyes is a promise that I can’t help but believe. He’ll protect me.

“Trust me, honey. This is about me and you and nobody else.”

With that, I ease back and breathe into his touch again. His mouth picks up where it left off, licking, tasting, penetrating, but with such intense devotion. My hands find the back of his head, fingers curling in desperation.

“Go ahead, honey,” he says darkly as I clutch his curls. “Rip the hair out of my head if that’s what you need to get there.”

The words elicit a tiny sound of desire in my throat. I’m powerless to do anything but obey. Holding his head in place, I arch my back and buck my hips, grinding against his tongue as white-hot pleasure erupts between my thighs. Silence is impossible, but I keep my scream in my throat as I writhe.

As soon as I settle, Cash looks up at me from under his dark eyelashes with a smile, his breaths shallow. “Good girl.” He pats my pussy as he rises to his feet, then he’s striding out of the room, pausing only to fluff his curls in the doorway.

“What’s up?” I hear him say from down the hall as I quickly pull my underwear and pants back up.

I can’t hear Maisy’s response, but I catch the sound of my name.

“She’s working in one of these rooms up here, I don’t know which. I just had to get a few measurements before I head to the hardware store.”

Peeking in the mirror, I swipe a hand over my lips and smooth down my hair. Do I look flushed? Guilt churns in my gut. I need this secret out.

“Hey,” I say brightly when I open the door and step into the hallway. But Maisy’s expression is stormy.

She suspects something.

“Hi,” she grumbles.

“You okay?”

She sighs, and even though it only takes a second, it feels much longer. “Not really.”

I swallow hard. “What’s wrong?” Like I don’t know.

Her lips tremble like she’s about to cry. “Willow broke up with me. She’s already dating someone else.”

“Oh, Maisy,” I breathe, hurrying down the hall to her.

“Seriously?” Cash snaps. “What’s her fucking problem?”

With an arm wrapped around Maisy, I spare a glance at Cash, surprised at the venom in his voice.

“Her problem is she likes someone else better,” Maisy says bitterly.

“I’m sorry, Mais. That hurts.” I squeeze her tighter to me. “Did she just tell you?”

“Literally as I’m driving over.” Her face crumples and tears spill from her scrunched-up eyes.

“Oh, sweetheart.” Heart pinching and lost for any further words of comfort, I settle for stroking her hair.

“Real nice,” Cash barks. “Finding a new chick before she bothers to tell you? Classy.”

“Not a chick. A dude,” Maisy says as she breaks into a sob, and Cash’s eyes flare.

“Okay,” I say as he opens his mouth. “Let’s go downstairs and sit for a few minutes. Cash, can you make her a cup of tea? The bags are basically the only thing in the cabinets, they’ll be easy to find.”

Beyond Maisy’s shoulder, his mouth twists with displeasure, but he relents. “Yeah, okay.”

By the time Cash delivers a cup of tea to her hands, Maisy’s tears have slowed. She leans against my shoulder, and I press my cool fingers to the hot, damp skin on her cheek.

“We could skip dinner if you want,” I tell her. “Or order takeout.”

Cash, who hasn’t sat down nor eased up on his scowl, says, “Yeah. Let me take you home.”

“I’m okay.” She waves him off. “My car’s here, anyway.”

“I’ll drive it. Come on, I don’t like seeing you like this.”

“Cash, I’m okay. I want to go to dinner like we planned, and I can drive myself there.”

“Fine.” He looks at me. “Want me to come?”

I’m confused until Maisy sits up. “Will you stop? You’re not the only one who can comfort me, Cash.”

The brief look he gives me before turning away is impossible to read.

It’s dark and gusty as I step outside behind Cash and Maisy and lock the front door. When I turn around, he’s holding her in a tight hug.

“Thanks, brother,” she whispers. “Now go on with your night, I’ll be fine.” She pushes him gently away. “And Cash? Say one word to Willow, and I won’t be speaking to you again this semester.”

He holds up his hands in innocence.

“Don’t play. This has nothing to do with you.”

Cash’s lips thin. “Some chick broke my sister’s heart and has her sobbing in front of me, but yeah, it has nothing to do with me,” he mutters.

“That’s correct. Because I’m a big girl, remember?”

He just shakes his head. “Catch you later, Georgia. Take care of her for me, all right?”

“I will.” I take Maisy’s hand.

As soon as he’s out of earshot, Maisy says, “God help his future daughters.”

“Would he really say something to Willow?”

“Oh yeah. I have stories, Georgia, and if I wasn’t already on the verge of tears, I’d share them. He’s out of control when his protective side comes out.”

“He really loves you.”

Cash’s headlights move in reverse, then sweep over the black street.

“For better or for worse.”

In the car on the way to dinner, my guilt is heavier than ever.

I steal a few glances at Maisy, hoping for the possibility she’ll magically bounce back tonight and I can lay the truth about me and Cash on her.

But her eyes are puffy and her jaw set. She’s not getting over this tonight.

And I have to keep the secret for another day.
