Chapter 59
CRESCENT
The heat was… amazing.
Better than amazing.
I had my alphas and Sin.
After years of excruciating heats, I couldn’t switch off. I think I’d gone two days without sleep at one point, then passed out for one night only. But Sin’s heat was a beast to match mine, so there hadn’t been a single moment where I wasn’t taken care of.
My alphas were insatiable, too, and I’d been knotted more times than I thought possible. Karma, however, got a bit big for his britches, trying to match his sigma in heat, and I found myself in fits of delirious giggles one of the nights when he conked out mid-sex, trying to keep up.
But something wasn’t right.
It was day who-knew-what, and I think finally I might be on the last wave. I was more lucid, but no less needy for a knot as I blinked my eyes open.
There were three bonds, strong and open.
And one… weaker. Only held together by the pack bond we had.
Phantom’s bite wasn’t anywhere on me.
He’d knotted me a bunch of times, and been on snack duty, making sure we were all fed and watered. But he hadn’t once given in and sunk his teeth into me.
I frowned, working through that. He didn’t need to bite me, but… I wanted him to.
Did he not want to?
Maybe he… wanted to do it in private? Without the others?
I had to do something to make him comfortable, because I ached for his claim on me.
With the curtains pulled, the haze of days and nights was utterly unclear. I’d pulled one back a bit, and smiled as moonlight bathed the soft pillows of my nest.
The whole pack was in here, Sin asleep with Karma lying beside him, and me sandwiched between Phantom and Vandle.
I was fine.
I’d make it fine.
Phantom was mine, and I’d make it all perfect and convince him to put his bite on me.
Sitting up, I grabbed Phantom’s wrist. “Come with me.”
Vandle and Karma tried to stir, but I shook my head. “Only him.”
I heard a low growl, but couldn’t tell where it came from, and it was quickly cut off. They’d all shared me for the whole heat.
It was Phantom’s turn now.
Stumbling to my feet, I pushed past the curtain, my feet sinking into soft fabric. When I reached the door my fingers fumbled with the handle, and Phantom reached around to turn it for me.
“Sure it won’t be too cold out, Little Omega?” he asked.
“I want the hot tub.”
He grinned, opening the door and stepping out first to block me from the cold. We were both completely naked, but there was no one around for miles, and a million trees between us and anyone else.
Nothing could interrupt my perfect moment and stop Phantom from claiming me.
Well. Except maybe a bear.
But that would be awesome—I couldn’t wait to see my first.
He walked over to the hot tub and folded back the cover. His back muscles bunched, and I couldn’t help but reach out and touch them as I trailed behind him. He tensed and groaned, turning to face me.
Steam rose from the water behind him, but most of my attention was reserved for Phantom.
Lean muscles, tan skin—and this close, I could see his freckles on his cheeks and chest. My beautiful alpha.
Maybe I didn’t want to hide all that beneath the swirling hot tub water. But it was cold enough that my toes were already turning into little popsicles against the chilly deck boards.
Phantom reached out to caress my cheek, then grabbed my arm and helped me take the two steps up to the hot tub’s edge. “In you go, before you catch a cold.”
My legs burned for a moment as I dipped down into the water, but then it was a comforting heat that emanated through me. My alpha settled in beside me, pulling me to his side, and my hand immediately searched beneath the water until I could find his length and hover over his lap.
His sharp hiss made me grip him tighter, and I nuzzled my face against his neck to graze my teeth down his throat.
PHANTOM
It was different, being out here under the stars alone with her.
She was still shivering with need, her heat not yet passed, though she was close.
But for the first time, she was just mine.
I was reverent as I watched her sink onto my length.
She was exhausted from her heat, but no less eager. Still, it meant I had to direct her so she didn’t sway right into the water. I don’t think she knew how off balance she was.
Once I had her steady, her movements picked up, hands gripping my shoulders as she lowered herself onto my shaft, biting her lip, her eyes crossing as she enjoyed how it felt.
She was so unbelievably beautiful.
“I love you,” I whispered, the words sounding choked as they came out. “I wanted… to make a thing of it. I know everything’s been moving so fast, but I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Her eyes glittered in the low fairy lights around us.
She rose up, her arms cradling my head as she stared down at me, her cunt tightly gripping just the tip of my length. I stared up at her as a curtain of snow-white hair tumbled around us.
Her full breasts were right before my eyes, one already bearing Sin’s mark, and it was a war between staring at them and into her beautiful eyes.
“I love you, too,” she whispered, eyes tracing my face as if she wanted to commit every detail to memory.
I was in a trance, the bubbles swirling around us, trees rustling in the night, velvet and roses wrapping around me like a blanket.
I gave in at last. I’d wanted to take her out, to make a date of it, but who was I kidding. I couldn’t wait for another moment; no date would be better than this moment under the stars.
Leaning forward, I ran my tongue along her breast, tracing the skin where I would place my claim. A breast all to myself, with Sin’s mark on the other.
I took it between my teeth. I groaned as she gasped, sinking down a little on my cock, her pussy squeezing me tight as I left my mark.
When I looked back up there were tears glittering in her eyes.
She sank down, taking me all the way to the knot as she kissed me with more passion than ever before.
CRESCENT
Silver and gold keys twinkled from the walls around me as my eyelids fluttered closed.
It had been over a week, and our heat was finally breaking.
I was exhausted.
I’d spent the last half hour knotted by Phantom in the hot tub, and we’d decided it was time to turn in at the first hint of the sun rising through the trees.
He’d carried me to the shower, rinsed us off, and finally brought me back to my nest. Karma had passed out, and Sin and Vandle looked like they were battling sleep waiting for us to get back.
Exhausted and happy, we were all here, the blankets and pillows tucked around us, the scent of my pack laced into every fibre: ocean storm, gunmetal, ironwood and ember, and desert eclipse.
My family.
Sin was holding me against his chest, his skin finally cooling as his own heat passed, and Vandle was on my other side. My fingers were tangled in Phantom’s hand—he was already fast asleep—and Karma’s fist had closed around my shirt from the other side, as if he’d needed to make sure I was there.
“You did so good, Princess,” Vandle whispered. His voice was groggy with sleep as he hugged me closer, and ruffled Sin’s hair briefly. “I knew you could do it. Balanced us all.”
A little purr of pride rumbled to life in my chest as dreams began to pull at me. He was right. The Sisterhood had said I couldn’t, but I had.
I had my own pack.
And they were better than anything I’d ever dreamed of.
Before I passed out completely I heard Karma mumble, “Best…” He yawned. “Best… first heat ever, Moonlight.”
