CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

EMBER

Ren and Trick's birthdays are over. The guys focus on their exams, technically we should be in different school years, so Bray and I would be with Bram, but Uncle Nic runs his school Jan – December with two sets of final exams throughout the year.

The first in July with the rest of the country, then another just before Christmas, somehow it works, but even I started getting confused, but as it doesn’t bother me right now, I shrug it off and leave the guys to it, also, because Supes can learn quicker than humans, it doesn’t cause too many problems.

We have slowly started to move our stuff over and spend weekends there, only having the basics back at TripleMoon, but until I turn eighteen, we can’t move into the main house.

Halfway through August, we are sitting having an evening meal, I watch my family chatting among themselves, swapping stories of what has happened in the day, I watch as my dad regularly reaches over giving Lily’s little bump a stroke, sometimes he gives me and Bray pained looks as if it’s hitting him again how much he missed when mum ran off.

“As we are all together, I thought I would share some news.” Ren, Bray and Devin keep shovelling food into their mouths as they presume, I’m talking about an art exhibit I have been asked to join. One thing I have been arguing with Liam about. I wait until Ren fills his mouth again.

“I’m Pregnant,” Xander jumps up to help Ren who starts to choke on his food, Lily thumps Dad on the back, whoops I hadn’t noticed he was in the same predicament, Kodi and Bas look like they are trying to work out how to secure me in bubble wrap, Bas has already been put in the dog house once by Lily for hovering so hopefully he is kind of calm, I then feel coolness cover my abdomen, looking down I see a web of Saint and Rivers shadows, I sigh and look at Pops whose got tears in his eyes.

“Can you let the litter know, preferably when they are somewhere they can calm themselves down?” The likelihood I am carrying their future mate is pretty high, so they are potentially going to be worse than my mates and brothers with Operation Protect Ember.

If we go for 9 months, which is a normal human pregnancy, I would be due in April, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you view it, Supe pregnancies range from 6-12 months long, so we will see. Not knowing what effect my oddities will have on my pregnancy has made Xander nervous.

As expected, when the shock wears off, everyone is nervous about it being me, as I can’t have any drugs to help with pain when it comes to the birth.

Alma, Mirri, Oriana and Jake's Ma are thinking up natural remedies that could help, Ren finally snaps out of the shock once he stops choking, I’m then pulled into his lap, one of his hands over my stomach, he keeps urging me to eat more, and breathing in my scent, the focus and need for his own food now gone.

“I love you, my Luna," He’d whisper regularly in my ear.

He knew I was pregnant because of his knot disappearing, but I think the confirmation via Xander has made it a little more real.

Miles has another heat partway through August, and judging by the reactions his guys have, more babies are joining the family.

I kind of hope Dec and Bas keep it in their pants for a while.

When Dad voices this at dinner one night, Bas chuckles and says it will be a few years yet, with a bright red Timber nodding next to him.

Victoria chirped in that it will be at least five years for them, as that’s when her Elder stint will be over, which seems to please everyone.

Alma cracked a joke she was carrying Pops, Trunk and Grumps babies after a wild night which caused a lot of spluttering before the females burst out laughing her reply to the guy's silence as she’s not having kids as none of them would cope with mini versions of her awesomeness, Liam and Nate found an interesting patch of the ceiling which had everyone laughing again.
