Chapter Brayden

brAYDEN

Our birthday comes, and at our request, not a lot is different from normal. We have a pack meet, but this year the lanterns are so that more children can find their forever homes.

This year is so different from last, Ember was laid up in a hospital bed alone and I was morning her loss, I don’t think I’ve let go of her hand for a few hours needing to remind myself she’s here, now we are both mated and expecting babies, tomorrow we are having another pack event but it’s our pack so like Ren and J’s birthday we are having a big meal in our home, as of tomorrow we will be living there, I think the guys moved everything over today, but I have been attached to my Sister so I wasn’t paying attention.

On the fourteenth of March, Miles goes into labour, and Ember ends up kicking us all out of the room, as even Matt was stressing Miles out.

Six hours later, Oriana lets us back in, and after giving Miles kisses and love, my Badass, hugely pregnant sister makes us sit in the three chairs provided,

“Miles somehow managed to get pregnant by more than one of you,” she states before approaching me with a lilac blanket,

“Lacey takes after her amazing Auntie with some awesome red fuzz Lacey is claiming is hair, and she is ready for a bottle, Daddy.” She passes me the bundle, and I hold my daughter close. Once Ember sets me up with a bottle, she heads off, then returns and hands Bram a pink blanket.

“Bronwen has her Daddy's taste for blood, and her fangs are already in, so be careful unless you want to be the meal.” Again, she gets him sorted with a bottle. The milk has a pink tinge, so I’m guessing there is blood mixed in.

“And finally, another Daddy's girl baby, Reyna” She passes Mateo a purple blanket and a bottle.

She kisses Miles and then heads out, leaving us to feed the babies and Oriana to float around the room.

Once the babies are burped and changed, we settle them in the cot and then curl up in the bed with Miles,

“I love our family so much, but I want to wait for a little before the next litter,” Miles says sleepily. We all sigh at his news. I don’t think any of us are ready for more,

“We got our jabs when Ren and Dad did. Don’t worry, we’re covered for your next few heats. Sleep, kitten.” I kiss my mate's lips and then fall into a dreamless sleep until we are woken to a trio of hungry cries.
