I missed Aimi’s second Birthday as I was in the birthing room with Ren, so while the others blew out candles and played musical statues, Ren was passing me a gorgeous little girl, skin as white as marble and eyes a vivid ivy color, there was only one name for our little vampire, Ren passed Ivy over to Devin and I started to push again.

I screamed when three people appeared at the foot of the bed. Until it registered who they were, I yelled again.

“DON’T FUCKING STAND THERE STARING AT MY VAGINA! SIT OVER THERE!”

I yelled and pointed to the couch, and with a final push, I felt the baby come into this world.
