Chapter 26
?
Anderson had come in through the back door after hearing the heated discussion through the window.
He had to admire her nerve for standing up to the gunman.
Leland had seen Anderson as he’d skipped around outside the back door.
They’d changed places, and he had gone right through to the front of the house.
Leland was waiting for an opportunity, just as Anderson was. He wasn’t at all worried about saving his brother-in-law, yet he was really hoping to get this gunman because they needed answers, and they needed to know where this would stop and what it would take to have them leave Talia alone.
“Get back in here!” the gunman snapped from the living room. “You should be done already.”
“Yeah, I’m done, but I can’t carry three babies at once,” she yelled back in exasperation.
A moment of silence came. “Bring them in here one at a time then.”
Hating that, Anderson saw the fear in her expression, but he just nodded and motioned for her to go on in.
