Another Night With Me

Another Night With Me

Chapter 1

A’yanna Joseph

The longer I lived, the more I believed niggas weren’t shit.

Since I was born, I’d been surrounded by a bunch of ain’t shit ass niggas—sttarting with my bitch ass daddy.

If there was a person I disliked more than anything on this earth, it was him.

Nate Cooper could kiss my ass. I didn’t care that the nigga was dead either.

I hoped his soul was burning. My entire life Nate went out of his way to make my life miserable like I was the one who wanted him to be my fucking sperm donor.

To this day, I couldn’t see what my mom or any other woman that fooled with Nate saw in him.

He literally wasn’t shit outside of his looks.

He was married to my sister Zaylee’s mom but still managed to have three outside kids.

My oldest brother, Malichi Jr., apparently…

his mom named him after her brother who passed away.

Nate hated that, but that didn’t stop him from screwing MJ’s mom, Teressa, until the day he died, and like the dizzy bitch she was, she stayed his mistress.

MJ couldn’t stand our dad because of how he treated Teressa, but at the end of the day, she allowed it.

She still posted stuff about losing the love of her life like the nigga wasn’t married.

After MJ came Zaylee, then a month later, I was born.

Yeah, Nate had my mom and Zaylee’s mom pregnant at the same time.

My momma, Camile, wasn't with the shit Nate was on. Once I was born, he started trying to deny I was his knowing he’d carried on a full affair with her for years before she had me.

My momma claimed she didn’t know Nate was married, but I wasn’t sold completely on that.

There was no way she messed with him as long as she did and not suspect anything.

When my momma saw he wasn’t going to step up on his own, she put his ass on child support, and I think that made Nate hate me more than ever.

Teressa did whatever Nate told her to, and so did Zaylee’s mom.

He didn’t like that my momma stood up to him. He dropped my momma like a bad habit.

What Nate hated about me the most was something I’d inherited from his bitch ass, my dark skin complexion.

My momma was a light beige/tan color while Nate was black as fuck.

He hated his own skin so much that the kids he passed it down to, he hated them too.

All the women Nate messed with were high yellow or mixed with something.

Teressa was mixed with white and hispanic, so MJ came out lighter brown, and our youngest sister, Tahiry, came out fair skinned like her mama.

So, that left Zaylee and I to catch Nate’s wrath.

Even though both our momma’s were lighter in skin complexion, we still came out dark like him.

Again, Camile let Nate have it when he tried to throw my skin color in my face when I was a teenager.

Nate called himself cutting us off once that happened, but I didn’t care.

Nate wasn’t shit to me, so his absences didn’t bother me like he wanted it to.

At the end of the day, my momma had always been by my side.

I didn't need Nate’s fake love. My momma eventually met my step dad, Paul.

He was cool or whatever, he wasn’t a bitch like Nate, but he was a certified cheater.

However, he took care of my momma and me.

He moved us to a big house, took us on trips, and kept us looking good.

I guess that’s why my momma overlooked all the cheating Paul did.

Paul never wanted kids, so the fact that my momma only had me and I was older was perfect for him.

My momma and Paul were still together, and he was still cheating.

The older I got, the less I cared for him.

His cheating didn’t sit right with me. Especially when I ran into him and one of his mistresses.

Paul spoke to me like everything was cool, and I cussed him and the little young bitch he was with clean out.

I didn’t even get the chance to tell my momma before she was calling me about me going off on Paul.

That was when I washed my hands with their relationship.

I loved my momma, and we talked frequently, but I stayed away from her marriage.

I wasn’t big on dating in school, from watching all the women around me go through shit with men, I decided I would rather focus on my studies.

I did get a little hope after seeing Zaylee and Mikael’s relationship.

Seeing a couple so young being able to love each other so purely was beautiful.

It made me want that kind of love. In my senior year of high school, I decided to give dating a try.

Needless to say, niggas weren’t shit. I came to the conclusion Mikael had to be one in a million until he broke my sister's heart. Then it was fuck him too.

I threw the towel in on niggas after a few failed relationships.

Niggas liked to think that if they fucked you good enough, spent a little money, and told you what you wanted to hear, you’d fall in line, and that wasn’t me.

Yanna Joseph wasn’t going for none of that shit, so I started playing these niggas like they tried to play us.

All through college, I changed niggas like I changed my panties.

Majority of them I didn’t fuck. Some of them I did, I had needs too.

I usually went after the niggas that led with money because that meant they wanted to spend it on me.

Life was good then. I had my bestie who was also my big sister.

Granted, she went to a different college, but we were still close, until Zaylee decided to move all the way out to Braxtonville.

I was pissed, but she had a good job offer out there, unlike me.

I was able to graduate with my bachelor’s in medical science without any debt because a lot of the money I got from my nigga, I put on my tuition.

Zaylee wanted to get ahead of her student loans, so I didn’t give her too much slack.

Work, and the distance, had caused us to lose touch a little.

I found myself feeling lonely, and that’s where Will snuck his way in.

I met him at a club. He was a fine, light-bright nigga with freckles and brown eyes.

Will’s eyes were real light brown; they almost looked tan.

It was clear Will was in the streets from his sagging jeans, expensive jewelry, and the way he talked.

He had me curious. Up until that point, I mainly dealt with straight laced niggas that had a little hood in them, never ones that were actually hood.

Intrigued, I let him take me out, and somewhere along the lines, he tricked me into being with him.

Like most relationships, everything was good with us the first year or so, then the nigga started showing his true colors.

Will wasn’t ready for me to so easily be dismissive of him.

He expected me to go crazy when I caught him cheating, but I told him it was over and called it a day.

I had love for Will, however, I wasn’t in love with him.

I mean, we had fun together, the sex was good, but it wasn’t that deep for us.

I knew better than to confuse sex with being in love.

Will, on the other hand, damn near lost his mind.

He wasn’t used to women not going crazy over him.

He pleaded and pleaded for me to give him another chance, swearing he would do right by me, blah, blah, blah.

I really didn’t care, I just wanted him to leave me alone.

Will must have thought I was under his spell because as soon as I told him we could be back together, he went back to his normal bullshit.

This time, I didn’t care which is why I ended up being a traveling nurse against his protest. I figured he’d get tired of me always being gone and leave me on his own accord.

Of course, the nigga didn’t. He stayed refusing to leave me be.

I kept my job because the money was good.

Will and I kind of fell into this weird normalcy; I’d take a job, he’d bitch, I would leave for some months or weeks, come home, we’d fuck, and then the cycle would repeat.

It was unspoken between us that Will was just a consistent dick.

At that time, I was focused on stacking my paper, so our arrangement worked for me.

I had zero desire to try and mingle and get to know a new nigga.

I already knew what to expect from Will.

At some point, that shit got old, and I was ready to cut the dead weight from my life.

With Zaylee being back home, I started taking more local jobs.

I missed my sister and didn’t want to be away from her too much.

I had to face the fact that Will was still in my life.

Being at home, he wanted to be in my face more than I was used to.

The nigga was annoying as fuck, that’s when I realized he had to go.

I had every intention of coming over Will’s house tonight to end things with him civilly.

Now what I wasn’t expecting was to walk in on him fucking my cousin, Leean.

Had this been any other bitch, I wouldn’t have cared.

But see, this bitch Leean was someone I considered a friend outside of her being my cousin.

We kicked it often, she knew about my dealings with Will, and that was the bitch’s excuse of why she’d been fucking him.

The more I listened to her plead for my understanding while she stood in front of me naked as fuck, the dumber I realized she had to be.

My fist accidentally collided with Leean’s face a few times, and it wasn’t because of Will.

It was the fucking fact she had been smiling in my face knowing she’d been fucking this nigga behind me.

“Yanna, baby, hear me out. This shit wasn’t even supposed to last this long. I let this bitch get in my head. She had me thinking you really didn’t fuck with a nigga,” Will pleaded as I frantically put his basketball shorts on.

I chuckled, not because I thought this shit was funny.

It was far from funny, however, hearing that Leean was running back and telling this nigga everything that I said just to get some dick.

Bitches were terrible. If she wanted to fuck Will that bad, she could have been up front about the shit.

I wouldn’t have given a fuck. Probably still would have not fucked with her, but at least she could have been real about the shit.

“Fuck both you weak ass bitches,” I venomously spat looking between both Will and Leean. “You weak ass mutha fuckas deserve each other. Lose my mutha fuckin’ number, bitch,” I evilly said before turning on my heels, heading out Will’s wide open front door.

I didn’t close that bitch on my way out either. I hoped all kinds of wild animals came in this bitch and attacked both of their asses. Hopefully they got rabies and died.
