23. Kelsey #2
“You know how these things are.” He curls his hand around my shoulder. His thumb works a knot that’s built there.
“Yeah.” I’ve been to enough of them, though I’ve never been on their side of the camera. But I’ve watched them brand themselves visually and consistently over the years. I’ve even seen a few minimal reinventions.
Maybe I can make it harder to spot me. Change it all up, my hair, my look. Like Riot’s sister-in-law, Dizzy. She hid for years from some monstrous men by turning herself into a bubble gum caricature of herself. “I’m going to dye my hair.”
“That’s coming out of left field.” He squeezes the back of my neck as he tips his head closer to mine.
“Not really.” He’ll know why soon enough. They all will.
The three men in the seats in front of us are relaxed. Kodiak is talking to Rook. Riot is writing in his lyric book. And Bronx is staring out the window drumming his fingers on the door.
Bronx already knows, but how are the rest going to react when they find out?
“We can make it a date,” he says. “Get a facial and a massage too.”
I relax into him. He smells like warm pepper and cloves. I’ve always found it sexy. “But you have that promo party tonight.”
“Yeah.” He grimaces. He looks like he’s chewing something over before he speaks again, “About what Riot did in there—"
“He’s such an asshole.”
He keeps staring at me. “He left you hanging, didn’t he?”
“You heard that?” I bury my face in my hands. If he did they all probably have an idea of what happened.
“It was cruel... to leave you worked up like that.”
He’s not wrong. “I don’t want to rehash it.”
“Want me to do something about it?” He brushes my hair away from my face. It feels conspiratorial, almost like we’re alone even with all of them there. “Want to get a little payback?”
I rub my thighs together. The way he’s looking at me... the huskiness in his voice... it ignites my need. Leaves me parched. I’m drawn to peep at the back of Riot’s head. He’s immersed in whatever new lyrics he’s writing about me.
Wetting my lips, I nod.
Golden picks up his hoodie and drapes it over both of our laps to provide the pretense of privacy. His gaze glitters as he pulls out a pair of ear buds and hands me one. He pushes the other one into his own ear before resting his hand on my thigh. “Do you think we can be quiet?”
“Yes.”
He does something on his phone and something instrumental and electronic starts. He slides his palm up, creating tingles as he goes.
My skirt bunches around his wrist, and I part my legs to his lengthy fingers. He agilely crooks one and runs it along my panty covered slit.
I swallow an influx of moisture as my insides clench.
Sinking down in the seat, he leans his head against mine. “You smell like fucking sin, Special K. I’ve always wondered what you would taste like. What you’d look like as you come.”
Oh Geez. I stare at the back of the two heads in front of me. Neither of them moves. Between them I catch Kodiak’s gaze. He smiles, but it’s wholesome. He hasn’t caught on either.
Golden strokes that one finger back and forth over my panties, nonchalantly. Slowly. Until I’m practically wheezing with the attempt to keep quiet.
“I warned him...” He curls a finger into the lace and moves it aside.
His finger strokes my bare flesh with that same maddening slowness.
“He can only push us so far when it comes to you. Tease...” He parts my flesh and slips one digit inside.
He thrusts shallowly, but even that has me making fists in his hoodie.
I was pent up before, now I’m dying for relief.
“Taunt...” He wiggles it in deeper. Draws back.
Does it again. “Rub our faces in what we want but he doesn’t want us to have. ”
My breath hitches as he leisurely spears me with a second finger. “The way I want to stretch this pussy.”
His fingers grow slick as he pumps them in and out of me. It’s maddeningly good. So good I moan.
I slap a hand over my face. Wince when Riot sits up straight.
Golden stops finger-fucking me but leaves his fingers where they are. A few seconds tick by. Riot doesn’t move, so maybe he doesn’t realize. Kodiak is watching me though. His aqua gaze pinned to me. He’s caught on.
“Looks like you have an audience.” Golden resumes fingering me. “Let him know how much you’re enjoying what I’m doing to your pussy. Better keep it quiet this time though.”
My God. I lock gazes with Kodiak as my hips undulate to Golden’s touch. It’s intense having one man watch me while another fills my pussy with his fingers. All while Riot doesn’t have a fucking clue. Or a say in what is happening.
Golden’s expression is lust-stoned when he touches my cheek to draw my attention back to him. “You are so sexy. Show me how perfect you are when you come.”
The starting flutters of my orgasm barrel down on me. It explodes behind my eyes as it takes me under.
He continues to coax my orgasm out until my thighs are quaking and my mind is jelly.
“Better?” He draws his fingers out of me and adjusts my skirt.
“Yes.” I lean into him.
“Good.” He kisses my temple. “Because I may have just signed my death warrant. Or at least my resignation letter.”
“He wouldn’t.” I glare at the back of Riot’s head, which is when I notice how rigid his shoulders are. He’s aware of something.
“He has to be able to smell your sweet pussy. It’s a fucking addictive scent.” Golden runs his fingers under his nose and sniffs them before sucking them clean. “Fucking tasty too.”
A feral sound comes from the seat in front of me.
He gives me a devil-may-care grin.
I almost laugh.
He tips up my chin. “That’s what he deserves for leaving you on edge.”
Well, I’m not on edge anymore. And any adrenaline I had from my run in with the guy in the alley has completely dissipated. I’m exhausted. I rest my head on Golden’s shoulder. A yawn escapes me.
And then another.
“About that party tonight...” It’s the last place I want to go after today. “Any chance you could talk Riot into letting me stay at the hotel this one time?”
“I can try,” he says into my hair and then kisses me on the top of my head. We fall silent for a couple of miles. “I know neither of us are his biggest fan right now, but he’s hurting too. Perhaps if you got everything off your chest and he did too...” he pauses. “You were such great friends.”
“We were... but that’s over now.” And there’s nothing Golden can say to convince me otherwise. Nothing Riot can do to make up for all the terrible things he’s said and done.
“Speak to him,” he urges in a voice quiet enough that only I can hear. “You owe each other that much.”
“It’s not that easy.” How do I begin to tell Riot that I lost our child?
How do I forgive him for shattering my heart into a million pieces when he cheated on me with Sonatina?
How do I get past how easy it was for him to sacrifice my heart and our friendship for fame? Every time we talk, I get angry.
And so does he.
Which makes me that much more furious. Where does he get off blaming me for the things that went wrong between us?
“Perhaps not.” Golden holds my hand. He slides his fingers between mine and squeezes. “But he is not the same man without you.”
“I can see that.” But he wasn’t the man I thought he was back then either.
“Yeah.” Tight-lipped, he rests his neck on the back of the seat.
His music switches to gritty rock. A smoky, haunting voice comes through the earbud in my ear. I turn my attention to the buildings outside the car. How long to the hotel?
“It’d be a terrible idea to take her to the party tonight,” Bronx tells Riot. Their heads are bent toward each other. “It’s already painful enough. But bringing Kelsey would be asking for trouble. You know how she’ll react.”
How I’ll react?
“I’m sick of her bullshit anyway,” Riot says while he does something on his phone. “I’m going to get fucked up tonight.”
“Aren’t we all?” Bronx grins.
Bronx is sick of me too?
