“I’m trying to rebuild the golden triangle.

El Munchio, is not happy with me. I lost his alliance over the gun trades to the Dominican Republic and Cuba.

I agreed to Herion because moving it is easier.

I will not supply the Republic or Cuba. They don’t respect us.

” He paused, the room was filled with a comfortable silence.

I thought to myself, why my father didn’t warn me about this.

He was just as big as El Munchio, my father took pride in running one of the biggest cartels in Mexico.

He constantly took care of his people and made sure the poor had food as well as money.

He provided legal jobs for men and women that needed to provide for their families.

He stood on standards his reputation proceeded him.

El Munchio, was the opposite. On his side of Mexico, he ran things eviler.

He took from the poor and flooded his cities with the same drugs that he distributed to other countries.

Women were treated like sex slaves; he sold and did whatever he saw fit without having any morals.

My father had a strong alliance with El Munchio’s cartel and Nueva’s cartel.

Together, all three of them called themselves the golden triangle.

Other cartels respected them and made sure to steer clear as well.

“I don’t know if it was Nueva.” My father coughed lightly. “I lost his alliance too, ju know he follows closely behind El Munchio. Too scared to make his own decisions as a man. His virgin daughter married El Munchio’s son, so they are tied as a family.”

I shook my head at that, arranged marriages were something that went on here a lot.

To merge powerful families together and make them stronger.

I was glad that my father never sprung that type of shit on me.

Things were too complicated here in Mexico.

If some shit like this happened in California, then I would wipe the whole operation out, within a couple of days to be exact.

“How did the attackers look? Where was Jose?” I pressed on. I needed way more information than what my old man was giving.

“Jose covered a meeting. I didn’t need him at my daughter’s christening. They attacked there. I don’t know how they looked Malice.” I could see the anger behind his eyes. Him not knowing infuriated him more.

“You still having kids. How many now Papa?” I raised my brows.

“Sixteen, three died. Leaving me with thirteen. Ju know, ju should get to know them all. I finally got all of my wives under the same roof in the City of Angels. Well not all, except your mother she would never go for that, and I wouldn’t expect her to.

” I shook my head quickly, agreeing to what he said.

My father was selfish when it came to my mom. He only wanted my mom to himself.

“Why they can’t stay here?” I pestered.

“I don’t want to have a heart attack. I visit on weekends.

Plus, ju will stay here.” Ignoring what he said because no way in hell was I about to stay here when I had my own list of problems back home.

I was in the middle of a drug war. Taking over wasn’t as easy as I thought.

There was one particular gang that was bowing out gracefully no matter how many people I took out they seemed to multiply.

“Where all were you shot at Pa?” His stomach had a bandage, so I assumed there.

“My stomach, hand, and leg. No main arteries. I might have to walk with a cane. Nothing major.” He shrugged like it was nothing but every time he moved I could tell it pained him.

“Mi hijo, I need ju.” I wanted to drop my head in defeat.

Him needing me, could be too much. It could mean doing some shit that I wasn’t willing to do.

“I need to create a new triangle. I have one already aligned; I need a third. Without strong alliances, ju know what would happen. The next hit, could be… I dunno… successful.” That stirred something in me. I wouldn’t know what to do if I lost my old man.

“You have to help with the third alliance. I need ju here to train and learn more about the cartel. Ju still can go back and forth between here and California. You would be a filthy rich man.” I liked the sound of that.

“I don’t plan on retiring until another five years.

You can run things, but I will remain head of it all until I hand it over to ju.

Your temper and thinking has to get better. ”

I nodded my head in agreement. A man was blind if he didn’t acknowledge what he had to fix or make better for himself.

“What else comes with this?”

“Ju will need to get married… within a couple of weeks. My third alliance is with the Martinez cartel. She will be retiring, and her granddaughter will step into her shoes very soon which will give us a tight tie with that very powerful cartel.”

My heart dropped into my ass, suddenly the room felt stuffy and everything else my father said didn’t sound so clear.

Me getting married to a bitch that I didn’t know, was some crazy shit.

I wouldn’t be faithful to her; I was faithful to the streets and moving big drugs.

I never thought about marriage, nor did I want the shit.

A nigga like me needed to be free and not tied down.

Women could be worse than men, hard to trust and sneaky as fuck.

Callista was the prime example of that. She served as a reminder to never fall for a bitch with a fat ass and pretty face.

Niggas always seemed to become blinded when it came to women.

My father was proof of that, he was in his fifties still having fucking kids.

Had he been more focused on his fucking cartel then we probably wouldn’t even be discussing my freedom as a single man.
