4. Sovereign aka Queen
Chapter Four
SOVEREIGN AKA QUEEN
Today was F.Y.F.’s meeting day, I had a lot weighing me down and the main thing was thoughts of Abuela.
I wanted no part in getting married, after dealing with Melvin and hiding the heartbreak that I suffered from.
I didn’t want to dedicate or submit to no nigga.
I was my own woman, I stood ten toes down when shit got bad for me, and I never asked for a helping fucking hand.
Deep down, I knew I didn’t have a choice.
My Abuela was deadly and powerful. When she asked you to do something, it was more like she was telling you.
I wasn’t letting what I took years and time to build go down the fucking drain.
I thought of a thousand ways to get out of this so-called arranged marriage shit and came up empty-handed.
I needed the money, although I had a good amount now.
Compared to what I could’ve had was petty compared to the money my Abuela possessed along with her power.
Melvin put me and my crew in the hole. Not only did he lie and play me hard he stole so much fucking money right underneath my nose.
The love for him turned into hate easily.
He infiltrated my crew and had multiple disloyal people working alongside of him while pledging their allegiance to me.
I hated him so bad I wanted him dead but didn’t want to give him an easy death so the torture I had in place for him ended up failing.
I lost money and the daughter that I snatched away from his wife.
I ended up loving the little girl with all of my heart.
It all backfired and everything started to collapse around me.
I still was trying to put the puzzle to the many pieces that was missing when it came to Melvin and my daughter.
That night will forever hunt me, it was the reason I didn’t get the proper rest I needed at night.
One main thing that I learned from the situation was to never react so fast off anger.
The night I discovered Melvin missing, I went on a rampage of killing, I didn’t ask the questions that needed to be asked that night.
Till this day I wondered how he was able to escape along with the baby.
I killed anyone that looked guilty and whomever I thought had a hand in it.
I often wondered was any of the men still lurking around and where the fuck was Melvin.
He was out somewhere just living life right after he betrayed me.
I knew my Abuela had the resources that would lead me right to him, I just needed to play my cards right.
I no longer felt like I was playing chess, shit started to feel like a petty tournament of checkers. I had to majorly step my shit up and gain the power I needed to be the rightful queen.
I tried my very best to ease my nerves and thoughts as my soldiers started to walk in.
Some had nervous looks while others looked confident.
I eyed my sister and shook my head because her eyes were glued to Murk’um.
I kept a blank facial expression but was starting to burn up at the thought of her falling for this nigga.
Love almost disgusted me, it was for the weak and blinded you from seeing what was supposed to be seen.
I made a mental note to have a side conversation with Murk’um.
I didn’t give a fuck about who Empress gave her pussy to, she was a grown-ass woman and so was Murk’um.
When it came to my business and running a smooth operation, business mixed with pleasure was a big fuckin’ no.
It was either, they stopped whatever the fuck they had going on, or go get down with another crew.
My eyes scanned the room, silence immediately took over.
I planned on getting something more sufficient for us to meet up at to go over things for the gang.
For now, the back of my clinic had to be where we got down to business at.
I had a huge empty room located in the back of my clinic where all equipment and product were held for the estheticians that worked here.
It was after hours now, and I had everyone park in the back.
I made the crew travel from L.A to Rodeo drive to meet up at Sovereignty’s.
I loved my clinic and took pride in it. It gave me something different other than being in the streets.
I had folding chairs all around, it was about fifteen of us here. The only people I let come here were the ones in charge of handing me my money at the end of each week. They were responsible for their own private crews, meaning one fuck up and they took the fall or the bullet.
“Clapback, run the week down to me.” I looked down at my iced-out Rolex watch and clicked my tongue three times to let her know not to ramble and get to the point.
“Money is good like the survival of every nigga in this room.” She smiled and took a small tote from her blunt then passed it to Murk’um.
“Murk’um finish running shit down, I don’t have time for Clapback’s antics.” I took my eyes off her and focused on Murk’um.
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” I cracked my neck, Empress had me ready to snap her neck for speaking to me recklessly, especially in front of all my men. Behind closed doors I let her get away with a lot because I was to blame for her being so damn spoiled.
“It means nothing.” I winked at her and gave Murk’um my full attention.
“Like Clapback said Queen, things as far as the money is good, very good. I think we need to up the ante to see more of it. Then we have that constant problem from that so called Syndicate shit. A nigga named Killa been pulling up asking the niggas for a meeting with the head of F.Y.F. He keeps saying his boss wants us to step in line with his syndicate or else we will all get laid down. So far you have two funerals to pay for.” He licked his dry black lips, and I took my eyes off him.
Placing my elbows on the rickety folding table, I thought for a couple of seconds.
I didn’t want to show my emotions, but I was pissed the fuck off.
I didn’t know who this so-called Syndicate belonged to or why its boss was starting to fuck with me.
I didn’t have enough soldiers for a fucking war.
War would mean more guns and more bodies dropping.
Whenever a loyal soldier got killed it was my duty to bury them.
I constantly talked to these niggas about getting life insurance so it would be less out of my pocket.
Black people were really stubborn when it came to getting themselves some coverage in case they died.
Most felt like it was jinxing themselves.
I was about to make that important and a necessity in our next meeting.
One of my main niggas sold life insurance so I was about to sit all these niggas down and force them to sign up for the shit.
“Okay, I’ll let you know after this meeting what moves we gone make.
However, F.Y.F ain’t getting down with no niggas, nor do we fall in line.
” I watched everybody nod their heads in agreement, I couldn’t afford a war, but I was no punk bitch.
Niggas knew that my nuts were just as big as theirs.
I was almost positive that it was a young and dumb nigga trying to move reckless and make a name for himself by thinking he was gone punk my fucking crew.
“I don’t know Queen, whomever this nigga is seems like a big deal.” Clapback smiled, and I finally gave her the attention she was asking for. I held my hand out and looked at my perfect French tip nails.
“How would you know Clap? Instagram?” I raised my arched right eyebrow at her and smirked when her mouth clamped shut. She spent too much time on social media, that shit kept her brains in the clouds. A couple of my men murmured and chuckled. I gave them a stern look and it seized immediately.
“Do tell, do tell… I’m pretty sure we all would like to know where you got this valid information from.” I urged her, I loved the hell out of my sister but when it came to being smart, she lacked that. Her beauty was undeniable, but her brain was the size of a fucking piece of grain.
“I didn’t say it was valid, I said he seems-”
“Like a big deal, right? What would make you think that?” I spat sarcastically, she needed to learn how to just shut the fuck up and follow my lead at these meetings.
She stayed trying to prove something to all the niggas and bitches that truly didn’t give a fuck.
Clapback loved having bragging rights. I was her bragging right, she thought that when we had these meetings that she had a place right next to me and which she somewhat did.
I trusted her more than anyone in this room.
When it came to my money and my crew, I had the final say so.
Her job was to be the overseeing person when my hands were too tied.
She would relay messages and do the big pick-ups since she knew exactly where all my safes and stashes were.
Clapback’s problem was she sometimes liked to live in some sort of fantasy world.
Always giving people the benefit of the doubt.
It’s why I didn’t have a solid right-hand man.
Murk’um and Bundy were the niggas that did all my dirty work and forced niggas to bow the fuck down.
It was one of the main reasons why I didn’t want Empress sinking her teeth in one of the hardest niggas I had on my team.
I needed Murk’um alert with no distractions.
Empress was that big distraction which was why I planned on nipping whatever her and Murk’um had going on.
“My apologies, boss lady.” She curled her lips tight and sat back in her chair. I decided to let her make it. She embarrassed her own self by talking out of term.
