Nico’s POV

Nico’s POV

I had about twenty men with me on the perimeters of Maximo Ruiz’s mansion. Leo, standing in a group of ten with me, looking pissed, had not wanted to do this.

Leo muttered, “This is a really fucking bad idea, Nico, and you fucking know it.”

I was too pissed off and high on adrenaline to let him talk me down.

“Maximo is out meeting with Carlo Garcia across town. It would take him at least 10 to 15 minutes to get here once he knows. We should be in and out before he even gets the call. We take out the outside perimeter first, then head in.”

It had been three weeks since that bitch killed my aunt.

I had to call in as many favors as I could to go in hot.

I had a few men on Maximo to let me know when he was en-route back to the mansion, so we could hightail it out in time.

Bet the fucker would thank me later, since he didn’t really want her anyway.

Well, that’s what I heard when they got married.

She killed his side piece on their wedding night and acted like she was untouchable.

Bitch was crazy and stupid enough to go after my aunt, so she deserved to fuckin’ die.

As long as they didn’t know she was my aunt, they wouldn’t see me coming. Aunt Tania had hackers of her own, which was how she was able to stay under the radar for so long. She had some strong followers too. I was actually able to tap into a few of them to come along with me.

We had made a plan prior to getting here to stand along the perimeter and take out all the outside men. That would be eight men. Plus whoever was inside with the bitch.

Maybe I could scare the fuck out of Dominic by killing this bitch? The great Nico, bastard loser, breached the number one’s house and took out his bitch! Fuck them all!

I gave the gesture to line up and be ready to shoot simultaneously. There was a gate around the mansion. A fuckin’ gate. Not a wall. A gate. Dumb fucks! Leo was next to me, keeping close, grumbling.

“Fuckin’ in and out, Leo,” I muttered. He was starting to piss me off. I could see him nod his head out of the corner of my eye.

I shouted, “Now!”

Gun fire erupted. Some bullets whizzed by, but I ignored them. If I didn’t go down, I wasn’t stopping. After only a few minutes, I heard “Clear” from one of my men.

That was a little too easy.

As if to jinx us, Leo popped off in a quiet tone, “That was a bit too easy, wasn’t it?”

I glared at him. “Shut the fuck up!”

I stood from my position and shouted, “In, now!”

One group of ten would go through the side, the other group, my group, would go through the front. I wanted front row seats. I told my men they could not kill the bitch, but if she needed backhanded or slapped around, do whatever the fuck they wanted to her. But that bitch was mine!

As soon as we started breaching the house, I heard gunfire.

I didn’t recognize some of the gun noise, so that had to be Maximo’s men.

Okay, so they weren’t that dumb. Only eight men outside?

A handful inside with the bitch? Hopefully she didn’t have time to sneak away or I’d cover this fuckin’ house with blood.

We were creeping in, but I kept hearing gunfire every now then.

Were the little bitches hiding?

We were in the entryway, lined up along a wall, when the man at the front poked his head around the corner and was immediately shot in the head.

Fuck!

My phone in my pocket buzzed, meaning Maximo was on his way. But I couldn’t stop. I needed to get to that bitch!

I whispered loudly, “Where is that fucking bitch? I want her fucking dead.”

Leo, who was in front of me, made a move towards the next room, so I got up to follow, slowly behind him, when a shot rang out, and landed square in the middle of his head. Leo dropped, and landed on a pile of dead men. My men.

I moved and leaned around the wall quickly, and aimed up towards where the bullet came from.

That. Fucking. Bitch! She was upstairs, farthest one in a lineup with six other men, behind a waist-high wall, with guns drawn down on us.

I went to fire at her, but gunfire from my left, jolted me, shaking my focus for a second.

Then I heard gun fire again, and felt a slicing and burning pain in my arm.

I yelled out, “You fucking bitch!”

One of my men behind me whisper yelled, “Maximo is here. We need to get the fuck out of here, Nico. Fucking now!”

I was swearing up a storm, but began to retreat. I needed to regroup.

It still had not fully hit yet that Leo was dead.

??????????????????

We made it back to my place with only eight men left alive.

That fuckin’ bitch killed Leo! I was raging, but I knew I couldn’t do shit with Maximo and his men in the house.

I had to fuckin’ retreat. I was in my office with the door wide open, sitting on my desk while one of my men patched up my wound.

Bitch got me with a through and through, but luckily didn’t hit a major artery.

I knew I would be out of commission for a bit though, so I needed a plan.

Leo had been right. I had fucked up. I hadn’t thought the plan through, and now he was dead.

And Maximo would likely come after my ass for invading his ‘turf.’ Fuckin’ cunt!

While my man was stitching me up, which barely made me flinch since this wasn’t the first time I had been stitched up, I looked up in time to see Eliana a few feet away from the office door, just standing there. She looked at me, looked at my man fixing me up, then back at me.

I dared that bitch to say anything, but she was smart enough to walk away.

I ordered my men to pack some shit up, because we would have to go into hiding until I could come up with another plan. This shit wasn’t good. My aunt had some properties that I could go to that no one knew about. Well, I fuckin’ hoped no one knew about.

After my man stitched me up, I went to my minibar and fixed myself a drink. I poured the whiskey to the top, and downed half of it in one go.

Could I get Don Valentino to help me out?

He had mentioned not wanting to rock the boat with Dominic because of his friendship with Maximo.

Which meant, I need to take out Dominic first, then I might have a chance in fuckin’ hell against Maximo.

Against both men and their clans? Not fuckin’ happening.

I gulped the rest of the whiskey in one quick swoop. I needed the burn, and I needed the numbness.

Fuckin’ Leo! I felt it. In my gut, in my head, in my whole fuckin’ body. I wasn’t a cryer. Men don’t cry and all that bullshit, but losing both Aunt Tania and Leo? Fuck! I knew I was losing my grip, but not here. Get away. Regroup. Re-plan. Start again.

Then I would kill Dominic, take over his clan, then go after Maximo and his bitch. I had no other choice.

You kill mine, I kill yours.
