Chapter Seven

Ash

Dad Gray stared at the stuffy asshole of a man sitting across from him. “Bullying? Excuse me, he’s bullying your son? Ash is bullying your son?”

What the hell. I was listening from the doorway, because the asshole’s parents had actually come to our house to confront my parents. Were they fucking stupid?

“This is unnatural. It’s no wonder your children are so unruly,” the bitch wife said, shaking her head at my three parents.

What’s unnatural about three parents who love their kids so fucking much?

It’s more natural than two uptight motherfuckers who live their lives according to a really old work of fiction, and hating literally everyone.

“Your son beat the crap out of ours! Tell me how that’s our son bullying yours. You should take better control of your fucking kid!”

“Gray,” dad Dory said, while mum sat there quietly seething.

Sometimes she took things to heart and cried when we fucked up, but right now she was with my dads on this.

We were the fucking victims, or rather I was.

I was the one with a fucking bruised face, the one who ended up with concussion, the one with fucking bandages on.

“Look, I think it’s pretty clear that our boys have had some kind of a falling out, but I really think that they can resolve it if we just sit them down together and-”

“He’s sending threatening messages to him as well!” What? That fucker! He told them?

I bit back the urge to burst in there and tell them what a pathetic, ball-lacking piece of shit their son was, but that begged the question, didn’t it? Wasn’t I a loser for wanting him so fucking much?

The weak little pussy told on me to his fucking parents. How dare he!

“I’m sure that’s just some misunderstanding,” dad Dory said, falling silent when they started reading the messages out loud. Jesus, out of context they probably sounded threatening. They were banter, for fuck’s sake. Promises, not threats. My parents would back me on this though.

“Huh. So this is bothering your son? Maybe you should get a doctor to look at his problem for him?”

“Excuse me? His problem?”

“Yeah, a total lack of balls. Tell him to sack up, and grow a pair. This is just two teens giving each other hell,” dad Gray said with a laugh, verbally waving it off. He knew how I felt about Cal, even though that fucker needed an asskicking for this crap.

“It’s no wonder your children can’t behave like normal children, coming from this den of iniquity. God only knows the things they see and hear,” Cal’s mother said as she stood up, looking like she had a stick up her ass.

“Okay, bitch, get out of my fucking house!” Mum snapped, and fuck yeah, go mum!

She pointed behind the woman as she spoke.

“We let you in, we listened to your bullshit, and now we’re telling you to get lost. You deal with your kid and we’ll deal with ours, but I’ll tell you right now, Ash isn’t the villain here!

He’s the one who ended up hospitalised after your brute of a son attacked him. Be glad we’re not pressing charges.”

“Baby,” dad Dory started to speak, but she waved a furious hand at him.

“No, fuck them! How many more people are going to judge us and our family? How dare they?! How dare these two assholes barge in here, demanding that we give them an audience like they’re royalty? They’re royally fucked in the head is what they are!”

Dad Gray burst out laughing. “Baby, that’s so fucking hot. I’ve never wanted you more than I do right now.”

“See? It’s a den of depravity!”

Dad Dory ushered them out, but I watched as dad Gray grabbed mum by her hair and dragged her against him, his mouth on hers before dad Dory even returned.

It was pretty cool, the way she just told them to get fucked. Mum was usually the reasonable one, the peacekeeper when one of us messed up, but this was off the charts cool. We were so lucky to have three such awesome parents.

“Jesus, you two, you wanna get a room?”

Dad Gray pulled back from mum and turned to stare at dad Dory. “Oh, baby, this is just about to get real. Get upstairs and get naked, I’m fucking your ass while you fuck Wilms.”

Holy crap.

Callum

I had this horrible feeling they were going to ship me off to my uncle. Apparently their visit to the Cross family had gone badly, like I ever expected anything else, and now they were ‘fearing for my soul’ or some crap.

“I met a girl,” I blurted, while they were bitching about his depraved family. Both of them fell silent, and they stared at me for a moment, probably wondering where the fuck that came from.

“Lovely,” mum finally said, nodding in dad’s direction for a moment. “Who is she? We’d love to meet her, wouldn’t we, Derek?” Oh Jesus. Now there had to be an actual girl?

I shouldn’t have tried to play them, should I? I stared dumbly at them for a moment, and spat out the first name that occurred to me.

“Brenda. Uh… she’s in some of my classes, and we’re getting to be really good friends.

” Fuck. I barely knew her, and I knew she was into me, but I really didn’t want her back.

Now I’d have to pretend, and that’d lead her on.

Wow, maybe I really should go to hell. Look at me fucking up other people’s lives every day.

“Invite her to dinner, son. Sometime this week would be good.”

I blinked at them in a panic for a few agonisingly long moments. “So soon? It’s not like we’re there yet. I mean, I haven’t even asked her out yet, and-”

“Best get on with it, boy. Girls don’t wait around forever. Just make sure she’s not one of those promiscuous ones, who’ll sleep around before marriage.” Jesus fuck. My parents were literally insane. Was she ‘promiscuous’? Who the fuck knew!

I shrugged, my mind racing as my lies started to catch up with me, before I’d even finished spinning them.

“What if it’s not a girl?” I blurted, feeling the colour drain from my face, as I realised I couldn’t take those words back.

“You said her name is Brenda… oh… she’s older than you? How much older?” Typical of mum to go anywhere other than where a logical person would go.

Both of my parents stared sternly at me, waiting for some kind of explanation, and I had no idea what to say anymore.

“Whatever. I don’t like her that much. She’s probably a slut anyway.”

Two days later, I was on the coach to my uncle’s place, to finish out my school year.

“Fuck Ash, this is all his fucking fault.”
