Epilogue One
Yvonne
The venue is gorgeous.
It’s right behind the castle, and the field is filled with white roses. The isle is beautifully decorated, and there are two little girls throwing rose petals — No idea whose kids they are though, I’ve never seen them before.
Lucifer and I are sitting in the first row, alongside his siblings.
Darius keeps staring at me, like he’s trying to figure out if there’s more of my powers that he could use.
But after the encounter we had when he semi-kidnapped me, he hasn’t dared to approach me.
I think Lucifer beating him up played a part in that.
Aurelia keeps giving me the stink eye. Valerio only smiled once, and for someone who seems so sincere, the smile was too fake for me to miss. I’m definitely not their favorite person.
Cassius and Juliana have not even looked at me. They’ve been to busy arguing in the corner, and Juliana may or may not have thrown a punch or two. Surprisingly enough, no one else reacted to it, as if it’s an everyday occurrence for them.
Then, the two brides slowly start walking down the aisle.
Faith’s dress is absolutely stunning. It’s a white, traditional gown with a mermaid tail, dragging along the floor behind her. Her hair is pulled back in loose curls, the soft makeup has her face shining brightly. There’s no doubt of her happiness — this truly is the happiest I have ever seen her.
Then, there’s Ophelia.
Her black hair matches the shade of her gown perfectly, and it’s in the same style as Faith’s. The elegant aura around her seems bigger today than it ever has before, the pale skin with the ruby jewelry making her stand out.
The two exchange vows, and I swear I see Valerio shed a tear. I’m not big on crying during weddings, but this truly does bring out emotions. The radiating smile on Faith’s lips, the immense devotion in Ophelia’s eyes, and this — a small, intimate ceremony with people they truly cared about.
“Do you want that to be us someday?” Lucifer whispers, and I could swear that Aurelia gags as soon as the words leave his lips.
I chuckle. “Nope. We’re already tied down by my recklessness. I’m not stupid enough to be legally bound to you, too.”
“You hurt me, you know,” he feigns hurt, almost pouting. “It doesn’t matter, though. I don’t need rings, or a piece of paper to know you’re mine forever, Little Lamb.”
I smile, kissing his cheek softly.
I’m not even sure how this came to be. One day, I was waiting for him to wake up from his deep slumber, so I could kill him, and get my revenge. Yet, here we are, vengeance long forgotten, and my heart full of nothing but adoration for the man I’m not supposed to love.
“You know,” he murmurs, looking at me with a serious expression. “I could always kick Ophelia out, and we could live here.”
I roll my eyes. “Definitely not, you idiot. It’s her home.”
“It’s my home, too,” he shrugs. “Or, would you be willing to live with her?”
That makes me halt. Slowly, I glance at the massive castle. The two of us would definitely have our own quarters, and the land is so much better for all of my herbs and the garden. In theory, it’s not a bad idea. Getting Ophelia to agree is a whole other, though.
“If she agrees, then, sure.”
