Chapter Thirty-Two
DANGER
Six Months Later
My voice is improving, only getting better and better. I’ve continued with the exercises Sarah instructed me to do because the last thing we need is a recurrence or me straining my vocal cords again.
As our world tour draws to an end, we have returned to Australia. Our fame reached unprecedented heights, and the collaborative song climbed the charts.
“Lunar Eclipse” was a smash hit.
It went triple platinum in seven countries, sending Recoil into superstardom and pulling Luminous with them. I never thought we would get this far, and I’ve done it all because Lunar believed in me.
She showed me who I truly am and who I could be, and it’s a man I’m now proud of.
Our last stop is Adelaide before we head back to America. Lunar now has all the necessary paperwork to remain in America for an extended period. It wasn’t easy, but she got there in the end with the help of Techie, of course.
The most challenging part of it all is saying goodbye to Luke. He’s been so incredibly good to us, but he’s needed here in Australia and is staying back to be with Luminous and help them pursue their careers.
Since we’re back in Adelaide, and I know Lunar’s missed her boys, I want to see if we can catch up with Techie and the guys at their new club in Aldinga. I want to arrange a visit so she can see them before we leave for America.
I pull out my phone to message Techie to check if everything’s okay for a visit. I know the club went into lockdown about a month ago, so I’m hoping that whatever caused the issue is all fixed now.
Me: Yo Techie, we’re in town. Just wondering if it’s safe for us to drop by? It’s been a month. Surely lockdown is lifted by now, right? lol
I wait impatiently for his reply, really wanting this for Lunar.
Even though I know she wants to leave that life behind her, she still has attachments to some brothers, which I need to respect.
I don’t know how long we will be in the States before she can come back and visit, but I know she misses them even if she won’t talk to me about it.
Techie: Hey, yeah, sorry, mate. Lockdown is lifted, and it’s safe to pop by. When are you thinking?
I smile and look over at Lunar. She’s preoccupied with her cell, not knowing the plan I’m scheming right in front of her.
Me: We can head in tonight if you guys are available.
Techie: Yeah, for sure. I know the guys will love to see Lunar. Will be good to see all of you, actually, it’s been a while. Just drive up to the gate and look into the camera, tell them who you are, and they’ll let you in.
Me: See you soon.
With the tour officially ending, getting together at the club tonight is just what we need.
“So, babe,” I announce, and she looks up at me, putting her cell down. “I’m taking you out tonight. You, me, and the guys are going to a special get-together.”
She raises her eyebrows and nods. “Oh, like a press thing or something?”
“No, this is more for your benefit. We’re heading to Aldinga, to the MC.”
She sits up taller, her mouth agape. “What? Really? But you hate the club.”
I position myself to sit beside her and grab her hands in mine.
That spark shoots between us, and it always has that effect on me where I want to ravage her from head to toe.
“I do. I dislike the club and what it stands for. But Techie? I’d like to see him.
This all started with his help, and I know you’d love to see the guys and Skye before we leave, at their new clubhouse. ”
“Really? You’d do that for me?”
Tilting my head. “Babe, I’d do anything for you. I want you to be happy. You’re coming to America to be with me, leaving your family and friends. The least I can do is help you see them one last time before you leave.”
Her bottom lip trembles before she lunges forward, taking me into her arms. “I love you.”
Chuckling, I smooth her hair. “I love you, too.”
One more stop at the Satan’s Savages MC Aldinga chapter, and then Lunar and I can officially put our pasts behind us and move on with our new lives together.
And damn, we’re going to make this new life something amazing!
