22. NEW WORLD
I called my dad and gave him the answer to his question.
It's a strange thing that the world I was running from is where I end up.
The evilness and toxicity we hold in the mafia is beyond words.
Everything is a game and everyone is just a spawn.
Even myself was a spawn to my dad. The only thing that fears me the most was that I might turn into my dad enduring the consequences of the leader of this mafia.
And that's the last thing I wanted anyways.
I just wanted to be a simple caring father who can understand my daughter and that's all.
I will try my best to survive and keep my wife and my daughter away.
"When do we leave Christian?" Sarah has been packing all the important personal stuff since we're moving tomorrow.
"Tomorrow at 11 in the morning. You dont have to pack all these Sarah...we have everything there and someone else will do it for you if you need it that bad."
"I need to keep myself busy anyhow because if not then I'll just go crazy thinking about the shitty mafia thing that came out of nowhere."
"You're panicking. Relax It's not that bad. You won't feel any changes overthere just that you'll be surrounded by more people and few more kids."
"I am trying my best no to. So please make yourself useful and help me pack the essentials. Also tell me about your sister in law and your nieces and nephews."
"Well, Elena was my friend before she turned into my sister in law.
We were like besties. We always had a fun and loving type of bond.
..teasing each other and making fun of random people together with wine in our hand was our favorite timepass.
Then suddenly I came to know about her and my brother and honestly I was very happy that she is gonna be a family.
She cared for me like a big sister and always made sure of my comfort. "
"She seems like a nice women. I hope we bond like you two did."
"Ohh don't worry about that. Everyone loved her and she is very welcoming. She'll be delighted to meet you . "
"And Niko Lily?"
"Niko is basically a mini me. He and I were crime partners.
He was 3 when I officially left the family and lily was 3 months old.
After I decided to leave the family and live a separate life Elena was very heartbroken.
She tried to convince me but I had other plans.
But ultimately she accepted my decision.
Soon after blue was born and somehow all my ties were cut from them.
I used to think about my brother and his family but never gathered enough courage to meet them again.
My dad was very aggressive about me leaving and he warned everyone that nobody is allowed to speak to me. And I couldn't blame him either."
"You should be glad that you'll be helping them in tough times. And you have the opportunity to be the cool handsome billionaire uncle."
"I am everything that you said. "
"Let's get going with the packing....we still have Blue's things to pack. "
We did the packing and took only the essentials. Only taking essentials was a tedious process...we packed approximately 15 boxes and we were ready to move.
"Christian " Sarah yelled my name and I stopped....
"Yes Sarah..."
"I wanted to ask you that what's gonna happen with the servants of this house. I mean are they fired or what?"
"They were asked to join us in new home but some declined to come along so we have paid them one year's wage in advance so they can find another job."
"Oh...ohkkayy. Good decision. "
We finallyy left the mansion. This was the toughest moment for me. All the memories were hitting hard with every step I took towards the exit. I met Blue here and also got married to Sarah here. Blue took her first steps in this mansion and now I have to live somewhere else.
After what felt like forever we reached "THE JADE MANSION" my first home where I was born. Not much changed since I left. Same giant gates and gardens everywhere. The security guard was even same. He asked me for the identity and then I rolled down my window....
"Hello Arthur.."
He probably recognized my voice and suddenly looked up into my eyes.
His eyes dilated to a 10x to see me back in the mansion.
He came running from his small chamber and opened the gates.
Sarah's eyes were wandering all around the place.
If something was good about this place was the memories I had and now Blue would too.
My dad was standing at the entry with Elena on his side where my brother was supposed to be.
My eyes met her's for a quick second and she looked away instantly.
Everybody's eyes were on Sarah and Blue.
"Welcome home CHRISTIAN. " Elena offered a small smile with the sentence and my dad reached Sarah to take Blue in his arms.
"Nice to see you Elena. It's been a long time. "
"Indeed...it's been long Christian. But I wish we met under better conditions."
"So do I. Meet my wife....Sarah Knight and my daughter Blue." Sarah took one step towards Elena and Elena also moved towards her.
"Welcome to the family Sarah. It's nice to have another women in bunch of these men."
"Thank you so much Elena. I am happy I'll have someone to tell me about this world as a lady. "
"She is so beautiful Christian. You both look great together. God bless you both."
"And this must be my beautiful niece Blue. She is your clone Christian. Specifically her eyes. So deep and captivating. I am happy to see that you have a small family Christian. "
"Thank you Elena. Where's Niko and Lily?"
"They both are waiting for you inside. Come in Sarah...welcome to your new home."
We all reached the gigantic living room with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and huge portraits of our ancestors hang from the wall. I was familiar with all this but it was no less than a TV show for Sarah. She scanned the entire space multiple times and finally looked at me.
"This is like a fairtytale house. It's so authentic and cozy. "
Elena called up Niko and Lily to meet us. I was so nervous to see them after this long. They both came together towards me. I knew Niko would recognize me because he was old enough to remember me but Lily was just 3 when I left.
"Hi Niko...you...you're so tall. "
"Uncle Christian....I missed you so much......are you here for a day or are you gonna live with us like old times and whose baby is this?"
"I missed you too Niko...this is your baby sister and that's your aunt Sarah."
Lily was hiding behind Elena and looking at me continuously. I kneeled down to her and she came to hug me.
"Hii Lily...."
"Hello." A sweet hello gesture with her hand...more than me she was concentrated on Blue..I picked her up and moved close to Blue.
Everything was so overwhelming and emotional. It was like a reunion after a long battle. I still missed Liam every second. Soon we were served tea and snacks and there was no awkwardness on the table at all. Elena gave Sarah a house tour. My dad introduced me to the main members of board.
"Hii honey..." a voice came from the back of the door and I didn't even need to turn to know who it was.
"Fuck off Maroni....and don't you ever call me that."
"I couldn't control the happiness after knowing that you were back....I missed you so much. And also we'll resume our weekly golf sessions and you have to introduce me to your wife and daughter."
"You don't sound like someone who is gonna be my right hand here. You sound like an old lady. "
"Don't forget Christian....I killed 4 people in 1 go when they trespassed the property and also can anyone in this room challenge my hacking skills."
"Whatever. " Maroni had been with us since I was like 14 .
My dad never liked him that much but he was very good at whatever he did.
He is a very fast learner and has tremendous relations with technology.
And also he was one person I considered close to a friend.
..even though his cheesy words annoy me to level of considering to cut off his tongue.
"I appreciate all of you here. I am looking for full support and most importantly LOYALTY.
I trust you all since my dad trust you all blindly.
And please stand up to our expectations from all you.
I am not as lineant as my dad is. Mistakes of yours will be followed by consequences. Thank you everyone."
I left the room with Maroni following me I knew he wasn't gonna leave me alone.
"So where are we going?"
"I am going to meet Sarah...you aren't."
"So her name is Sarah....introduce us sweetie...we'll catch about all your stupid stuff you did as a teenager. She can be my bestie."
"What are you a gay now Maroni. "
"I have 2 daughters and happy satisfied wife. Shut the fuck up."
"Wow..2 daughters..."
"Yeah....I hope you'll meet them one day."
"I would love to but now....you have to leave me alone. Get lost...."
"See you soon brother....it's nice to have you back here."
