Chapter Forty-One
Livia
Three months later
I’m pregnant, and mama bears have nothing on papa bears. I’m so protected; if they could keep me in a cocoon, they would.
We waited three months to finally announce it and everyone around us keeps cheering.
Veronica is over-emotional and keeps sniffling, and Celine cannot contain her excitement. I met the rest of the Ursid family and I love them all on sight.
But my heart just lifts when my gaze falls on Faith. She’s made a stunning recovery and she looks amazing. I keep searching her eyes for some sign that she’s not okay, but I find nothing. She’s been talking about going to Alaska for a bit. I told her she can’t be gone for long. She has auntie duties now. Besides, Alaska is the direct opposite of California, but that’s her story to tell. I just know she’s going to be okay.
I glance at my three husbands. They encompass my life and my universe. They removed my dark clouds and now there’s only rainbows and sunshine and fairytale happy endings. Of course, they got back to their seats at the round table of the Global Underground Six. No one fucks with my husbands and gets away with it.
I’m so happy, I could scream.
As we sit around the huge dining room table and laughter travels around the room, Veronica brings me my phone. There’s a call for me from Skyler.
“Livia, hi. I hope I’m not interrupting, but I have to tell you this personally.”
“Hi. What’s going on?”
“I found it.”
“Oh my gosh. You found it?”
“I found it.”
And now I can’t wipe another smile off my face. My friend Skyler from FFF found Cinderella’s glass slipper. If her fairytale is anything like mine, it will come with a dark twist and a happy ending.
