20. Chapter 20 The Return #4
She nodded and sped up just enough, taking me deeper, her forehead pressed to mine.
“Come in me,” she whispered. “I want to feel it. I want you to fill me. I’ve thought about that too.”
I did. The climax hit in long, heavy pulses.
I held her tight and spilled inside her while she kept moving through it, taking every pulse.
A few more rolls of her hips and she followed, quieter than before, but no less intense, her whole body trembling against mine as she came around me, squeezing my cock while I was still twitching inside her.
We stayed joined afterward. I lay back and she stayed on top of me, her head on my chest, my hand stroking slowly down the length of her spine and over the base of her tail.
I could feel myself starting to soften, still inside her, the wet mix of us leaking out around the base of my cock.
The room was still cold. Neither of us reached for the blankets yet.
Her ears gradually relaxed. I felt her heartbeat start to slow against my ribs.
“Was I worth the wait?" she asked after a long time, voice a little hoarse.
I kissed the top of her head and kept my hand moving along her back.
“Yeah. You were totally worth it.”
The narrow bed barely held both of us. Sif lay against my side with her head on my chest, her silver hair spread across my arm, her breathing slow and even. The room was small and close and the light from the window threw a warm bar across the foot of the bed.
A pale blue bracket opened low in my field of vision.
[The System: Would you like to bond with Sif?]
I went still. I read it twice.
Sif lifted her head. Her blue eyes searched my face, reading me like she read every room she walked into.
“Something just happened,” she said.
“The System. I just received a prompt.”
Her breathing changed. She pushed up on one elbow, her hair falling across her shoulder, her body close against mine. “What does it say?”
“It asks if I want to bond with Sif.”
She was quiet for a long count, her eyes steady on mine.
“I knew it might,” she said. “Wolf-kin grow up with the System. We know the signs.” She swallowed. “I’ve been thinking about it since the [Bolster]. Since the campfire.”
“Tell me what it means for you. Not the mechanics. You know I’ve done this before. Tell me the part that’s yours.”
She sat up in the light from the window, bare and unhurried, and she spoke like she fought, directly and without wasted motion.
“Wolf-kin pair. One wolf, one mate. My pack, my mother’s pack, my grandmother’s pack. That’s the tradition.” She held my eyes. “I’m choosing to bond with you. Liv is already bonded to you. I know what I’m walking into. I’m choosing it.”
“Why?”
“Because you looked at me in a fight and decided I should be more than I was. And you made it happen with your power instead of words.” Her voice was steady.
“Nobody has ever done that for me. I don’t need anyone to.
But you did. And the way it felt when the [Bolster] settled into me, I knew. I knew I was choosing you.”
The notification sat in my vision, waiting.
“Sif. I want you to hear me say this before I accept.” I held her gaze. “This bond is mine to hold. I’m not letting it go. You said wolf-kin pair for life, and I’m telling you right now that I understand the weight of what you’re giving me.”
“I know you do.”
“I’m saying it out loud. So it’s on record between us.”
“Heard,” she said. One word and it carried everything she meant by it.
I selected the confirmation.
[The System: Daniel has accepted. Awaiting Sif’s response.]
Sif closed her eyes. When she opened them, they were bright and clear and the blue in them caught the light from the window like cut glass. She nodded once, sharp and decisive, the same nod she gave before a fight.
[Bond formed: Daniel & Sif.]
[Daniel has reached Level 35.]
[Passive: Awareness-of-presence active. Bonded partner: Sif.]
Something new settled at the outer edge of my perception. It was different from Liv’s. Liv’s presence was a steady hum, warm and constant, pointing toward wherever she was. This one was sharper, clean and exact, the way Sif moved through a room.
I could feel two of them now. Liv, somewhere at the apartment, a soft pull from the north. Sif, right here, right against me, bright and close.
“I can feel you,” I said. “You’re different from Liv. Each bond has its own shape.”
Sif put her hand flat on my chest, right over my heart. Her eyes were wide and still, no teasing, no sharpness, nothing guarded.
“I can feel you too,” she whispered. “It’s like knowing where the sun is even with your eyes closed.”
I kissed her. Slower, longer, with the bond humming between us.
She pulled back and looked at me. Her silver hair was a mess, her blue eyes were bright, and she was smiling in a way I’d never seen from her before. It wasn’t the grin or the sharp smirk she wore like armor. It was something quieter than any of that.
“Take me home,” she said.
[Party Message from Liv]: Gods I just saw the bonding notification. Sif, you are a dirty, dirty slut. Welcome.
