Chapter Three #5

My orgasm broke through me in a hard rush. My back lifted, my fingers tightened in his hair, and I came against his mouth with my pussy clenching around his fingers and his name spilling out of me louder than I had expected.

Lucky kept touching me until the shaking eased.

When he moved back up my body, I was breathless and laughing softly.

“That was...”

He kissed me before I finished.

I tasted myself on his mouth.

Instead of pulling back, I opened for him and kissed him harder.

My hand went to his jeans.

This time he did not stop me.

We got the rest of his clothes off together.

His cock was thick and hard, flushed at the head and heavy when I wrapped my hand around him.

Lucky’s breath broke.

I smiled.

“There you are.”

His eyes narrowed with amusement and desire. “What does that mean?”

“It means I like hearing you.”

“You’re going to hear me.”

That promise sent a fresh pulse through my pussy.

I stroked him again, slower.

His hand tightened briefly against the mattress.

I watched his reaction, wanting it because it belonged to him rather than because it proved something about me.

“Does that feel good?”

“Very.”

The roughness in his voice thrilled me.

I kissed his chest and moved my hand again until Lucky caught my hips and pulled me closer to him.

“Not too much.”

I looked up. “Why?”

“Because if you keep doing that, we’re changing tonight’s plan.”

I laughed. “There was a plan?”

“There is now.”

He kissed me and eased me back against the pillows.

Lucky settled over me, supporting his weight on his arms while the head of his cock pressed against my entrance.

He pushed in slowly.

The stretch made me inhale sharply.

He stopped at once.

“I’m okay. Give me a second.”

“You’ve got as long as you need.”

I rested my hands against his back, letting my body adjust around the thick pressure of him.

When the sensation changed from sharp to deliciously full, I lifted my hips.

“Now.”

Lucky moved deeper.

A moan slipped out of me.

He withdrew slowly and pushed back in, finding a rhythm that gave my body time to follow. Each stroke felt heavier, hotter, more consuming than the last.

I met him, wrapped one leg around his hip, and pulled him closer.

Lucky groaned against my neck.

The sound made me clench around him.

“Do that again,” he said.

I laughed breathlessly. “I’m not sure that was voluntary.”

“Still liked it.”

His mouth covered mine.

The pleasure inside me built slowly this time, broader than the first orgasm, every deep stroke feeding it without quite pushing me over.

I shifted beneath him.

Lucky noticed.

“What do you need?”

The question could have made me freeze.

Instead, I answered it.

“Touch my clit.”

His hand moved between us.

Two fingers found me.

I jerked beneath the first firm circle.

“There?”

“Yes. Keep that pressure.”

Lucky kept the pressure exactly where I had asked.

His cock drove into me while his fingers worked my clit.

The combination dragged a cry from my throat.

“Harder.”

Lucky looked into my face. “My hand or my cock?”

The explicit question sent another wave through me.

“Your cock. Keep your hand like that.”

His jaw tightened.

“Okay.”

Then he gave me exactly what I had asked for.

The bed shifted beneath us. My nails dug into his shoulders while his thrusts grew harder without becoming wild. I could hear his breathing roughen, hear the low curse he gave when I tightened around him.

I wanted that too—his pleasure, his loss of some of that easy composure—not as payment, but as part of this.

My second orgasm rose so quickly that I barely had time to warn him.

“Lucky, I’m going to come.”

“Then come.”

His fingers stayed firm on my clit.

He drove deep.

I came around him hard, my pussy clenching his cock while my whole body tightened and shook. I pulled him closer, crying out against his shoulder as the pleasure rolled through me.

Lucky’s rhythm faltered.

“Fuck, Caprice.”

The words came rough and breathless beside my ear.

His body tightened over mine, and he thrust deep one last time as his cock pulsed inside me.

I held him there because I wanted every part of it, not because I was supposed to.

For several moments, neither of us moved.

Our breathing gradually slowed.

Lucky lifted his head enough to look at me.

His hair was a complete mess.

I smiled.

“What?”

“Nothing. I’m enjoying the collapse of your grooming standards.”

He laughed so suddenly his shoulders shook.

“That’s what you’re thinking about?”

“I contain multitudes.”

He kissed me, slow and warm, and the laughter softened into something that sat much deeper in my chest.

After he eased out of me, Lucky went into the bathroom and returned with warm washcloths. He went back out for two glasses of water and brought my phone with him.

He set my phone on the nightstand and handed me one of each.

I cleaned myself up while he did the same, then drank most of the water.

Lucky sat against the headboard beside me.

“You hungry?”

I stared at him. “We ate enough pasta to support a small municipality.”

“Just checking.”

“That may be the least sexy and most attractive thing anyone has asked me immediately after sex.”

“I have range.”

I settled beneath the blankets beside him.

My body felt loose and heavy, pleasantly sore, more satisfied than I could remember being after sex with another person.

Lucky turned toward me, resting one hand lightly over the blanket near my hip.

“You okay?”

“Yes.”

The answer was easy.

The next part was not.

I looked at the ceiling for a moment, then back at him.

“Two orgasms with a partner is not normal for me.”

Lucky did not grin.

He did not look triumphant.

He simply waited.

“One isn’t especially common either,” I continued. “I can come. I know what works. It’s not that I don’t enjoy sex.”

“I didn’t think that.”

“Good.” I rubbed one thumb along the edge of the blanket. “With other people, sometimes it took longer than they expected. Or I needed something different. And after a while, explaining that could feel harder than just letting the moment finish.”

Understanding moved across his face.

“You’ve faked it.”

“Yes.”

The word was quieter than I intended, but I did not regret saying it.

“Not always. Not with everyone. But enough. Sometimes I could tell a man was waiting for the reaction that proved he’d done everything right, and it was easier to give him the ending he wanted than stop everything and explain how to change it.”

Lucky was quiet for a few seconds.

Then he reached beneath the blanket and took my hand.

“I’m not going to be angry about what you did with somebody before me.”

I looked at him.

“And I don’t need you to protect my ego by pretending with me. If what I’m doing feels good, I want to know. If it doesn’t, I want to know that too. If you need something different, tell me. If you need more time, we have more time.”

The lack of drama in the answer made it hit harder.

“You make that sound very simple.”

“It can be simple without always being easy.”

I smiled faintly. “There. I knew you had hidden complexity.”

Lucky’s thumb moved over mine. “I’ve been trying to keep it from you.”

I shifted closer until my head rested against his shoulder.

The flour-streaked sweater was still somewhere on the bedroom floor. Dinner dishes remained in the kitchen. The cake was still on the counter, imperfectly frosted, and most of the bottle of wine was gone.

None of that needed correcting before I could lie here.

My phone chimed on the nightstand.

I reached for it because a weather alert was different from an email.

The resort message confirmed that Upper Ridge was temporarily closed to nonessential vehicle traffic. Crews would reassess the internal road in the morning. The lodge remained staffed, utilities were normal, and guests were safe to remain in place.

I handed the phone to Lucky.

He read it and gave it back.

“I was already planning to wait before driving down. I’m not taking the road if they’ve closed it.”

“You could stay.”

Lucky looked at me.

The invitation came easily now, but I wanted there to be no confusion about why I was making it.

“I don’t mean until someone clears the road enough for you to leave. I want you to stay tonight.”

His face softened.

“I’d like that.”

“Good.”

He kissed my forehead, then got up long enough to lock the exterior door, check the fire, and settle Bear for the night. The dog followed him down the hall and made one enormous circle on the rug outside the bedroom before collapsing with an equally enormous sigh.

When Lucky returned to bed, I moved into his arms before he had fully settled.

Outside, the snowfall had thickened enough that the exterior lights illuminated little more than rushing white and the nearest dark pine trunks. The upper road still existed somewhere beneath the accumulation, but no pavement remained visible from the windows.

My laptop stayed closed in the great room.

The dishes stayed in the kitchen.

Lucky’s arm settled securely around my waist while Bear’s breathing deepened from the rug.

Nothing required fixing before morning.

I fell asleep with Lucky beside me, the road disappearing beneath snow and my laptop still closed in the other room.
